  • Objectives : The objective of this study was to examine preceding variables that affect the dual commitment of outsourced employees working at hospitals and to analyze the influence of these variables on job performance. Methods : Data were collected from 461 outsourced employees, working at 7 general hospitals, which had introduced the outsourcing system, using a structured, self-administered questionnaires. Frequency, validity/reliability, correlation and path analyses were done for data analysis. Results : The results of the path analyses showed that both commitment to the hiring company and commitment to the client company (hospital) had statistically significant positive effects on job performance. Additionally, when the 'single measurement' approach was used, dual commitment had a larger positive effect, compared with the 'parallel approach.' Among the preceding variables, 'satisfaction for the job itself' was found to be the most important variable affecting dual commitment and job performance. Conclusions : In conclusion, to enhance the job performance of outsourced employees, it is important for management to examine and improve the various factors related to job satisfaction. Additonally, for outsourced employees to have organizational commitments to the hiring and client companies simultaneously, management should emphasize a sense of unity and share organizational values.

  • The study investigates by empirical methods the effect of motivation, leadership, and organizational culture on job satisfaction, and employee performance at Wahana Resources Ltd North Seram District, Central Maluku Regency, Indonesia. This examination intends to be a critical review for academics researching the field of human resources management (HRM). The study's sample consisted of 155 employees who were selected using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method. At the same time, data were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling on Amos. The results of data analysis showed that work motivation and organizational culture had a positive and significant effect on performance, but did not significantly influence employee job satisfaction. While leadership has a substantial impact on employee job satisfaction, it does not affect performance. The results of testing the coefficient of determination show that job satisfaction is influenced for 57.4% by motivation, leadership, and culture variables, while employee performance variables are influenced for 73.5% by motivation, leadership, culture, and job satisfaction variables. Other factors outside this study influence the rest. Motivation, leadership, and organizational culture of employees need to be improved to increase job satisfaction. Invariably, if employee job satisfaction increases, employee performance will also increase.

Methods : Job variety, clarity, significance, and fitness were examined as the job factors, and security, reward justice, and organizational support as the organizational factors. Data were collected from 8 national university hospitals with 1,289 data points used for the final analysis. Results : All the job factors were found to positively influence empowerment, as were all the organizational factors, with the exception of reward justice . As hypothesized, empowerment had significant effects on both job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and was the most influential variable of all those examined. Conclusions : In the relations to job satisfaction, empowerment completely mediated job significance, security and organizational support, and partially mediated all other variables, with the exception of reward justice. In the relations to organizational commitment, empowerment completely mediated job variety and job fitness, and partially mediated all other variables, with the exception of reward justice. The theoretical and practical implications of these results have been discussed.

  • Purpose: In this study, we would like to confirm that the transfer of young workers may be a means of enhancing their internal satisfaction, not to get a better job, by setting work-related characteristics that are highly relevant to job-related factors. Research design, data, and methodology: In this study, preparation for turnover was set as dependent variables to identify factors related to the turnover of young people, and the type of business, employment type, debt status, job satisfaction, job difficulty compared to education level, job difficulty, job degree, job major agreement, debt status, and other demographic social characteristics were selected as independent variables. Results: The characteristics related to personal criteria in job-seeking process were significant in the form of business, employment type, job satisfaction, work difficulty compared to the level of education, work difficulty compared to the level of technology, job major matching, and debt status. Conclusions: This study confirmed that young people's turnover may not simply be a means to get a better job, but to increase satisfaction in the internal aspects of their jobs, and that for young people, a job is an important development process that represents their identity and needs to be approached from a life-cycle perspective.

  • This study aims to suggest research implications that may contribute to preventing turnover of personnel in small and medium sized software companies. A research model is developed based on the Bergiel, et al. (2009) and Woo and Hwang (2010). This model describes how human resource management (HRM) practices (compensation, recognition, job autonomy, technical capability development, work-life conflict) affect turnover intention, through the mediating effects of job satisfaction and job embeddedness. 177 questionnaires are collected and analyzed. Validity and reliability of measures, and appropriateness of the structural model are verified. Results of the hypotheses testing are somewhat different from the expected ones: Only compensation and technical capability development are significant, but the remaining variables are not significant in affecting job satisfaction and job embeddedness. As for turnover intention, job embeddedness and job satisfaction are proved to be significant predictors. From the analyses of data, subsequent interview with several respondents and additional data analyses, more research implications are derived. The study has a limitation of not including more diverse variables that might affect job embeddedness and job satisfaction of so called road warriors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors associated with perceived job satisfaction of TB control nurses in Korea. Methods: This study employed a descriptive survey research design using data for 189 TB control nurses. Variables included in this study were demographic, social, and work-related characteristics (including job stress), and job satisfaction. ANOVA, t-test,and multiple regression analyses were performed using SPSS/WIN 19.0 program. Results: The mean value of perceived job satisfaction was lower in the subjects ($2.9{\pm}0.41$) than in general nurses working in other departments. In multiple regression analysis, factors associated with TB control nurses' job satisfaction were job stress (${\beta}$=-.281, p<.001), marital status (${\beta}$=-.229, p<.001), and the number of TB control nurses employed (${\beta}$=.200, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that job satisfaction was associated more significantly with job-related characteristics than with non-job-related variables in workplace. Along with increased TB control nurse staffing, efforts should be made to reduce negative work-place issues such as job stress and inappropriate pay to improve the subject's job satisfaction.

  • Purpose - This study centers on field surveys aimed at deriving the customer satisfaction factors of customer support centers that are positioned between suppliers and consumers in the supply chain. They consists of manufacturing, sales, distribution, consumption and collection, and that are in charge of core functions for suppliers' customer satisfaction management and consumers' satisfaction with consuming activities. Research design, data, and methodology - The customer satisfaction factors of customer support centers were derived through literature review and expert opinion surveys, and a questionnaire was developed through a process of the refinement of variables using pilot tests and 330 questionnaire sheets were distributed. The questionnaire sheets were collected and opinions in them were analyzed using fuzzy AHP methodology. Results - Three factors, which are turnover intentions, motivation, and job satisfaction, were derived as customer satisfaction factors of customer support centers, and the ranking relationships of these three factors were analyzed. In addition, the ranking relationships among six execution variables of turnover intentions, 10 execution variables of motivation, and 10 execution variables of job satisfaction were analyzed using fuzzy AHP methodology to obtain quite significant results. Based on the results of this study, three implications in the three strategic aspects and an implication in the academic aspects are presented. Conclusions - Motivation and job satisfaction, job satisfaction and turnover intentions, and motivation and turnover intentions are not formed by independent or different factors or environments. They are in the same context with each other (maintaining high correlations) and are in the relationships of virtuous circles in which they complement each other.
