This study was conducted to compare the level of RN-BSN students' job satisfaction and professional self-concept (PSCNI) prior to RN-BSN course and upon graduation The study was designed to investigate the degree of job satisfaction and PSCNI, and to test the correlation between job satisfaction and professional self-concept. The subjects were 68 students in Chunchon, who entered to H University (RN-BSN course) in March 1997. The data was gathered by self-reported questionnaire job satisfaction(48 items) and professional self-concept nurses instrument (PSCNI: 27 items) The instruments used for this study were the nurse Job satisfaction scale developed by Stamps et al., and Arthur's PSCNI. The reliability of two questionnaires were relatively high (Job satisfaction Cronbach's $\alpha$=0.88, 0.89, PSCNI Cronbach's $\alpha$=0.80, 0.96) The data was analyzed frequency, mean, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, Pearson's corelation, and multiple regression analysis through SAS program. Research findings were as follows : 1. The average item score of job satisfaction was 119.50(prior to RN-BSN course) 124.16 (upon graduation). PSCNI' average item score was 75.37/77.21 at each. 2. The job satisfaction scores were significantly higher at the graduation than at the entrance(t=2,10, P=.040). But PSCNI's scores had no significant difference. 3. The relationship between job satisfaction and PSCNI of entering time was high R=.60, P=.000) The relationship of the two at graduation time was not high(R=.29, P=.018). 4. The factors contributing to the job satisfaction & PSCNI as follow: job satisfaction(prior to RB-BSN course), PSCNI(prior to RB-BSN course), The factors contributing to the job satisfaction & PSCNI were as follow: PSCNI(prior to RN-BSN course) In conclusion, we recognized that RN-BSN course influenced job satisfaction of students. Also this study Eave a information for necessity to develop curricula promoting PSCNI. Nurse-educator should explore further research to enlighten the nursing profession.
Purpose: This study were carried out to investigate the difference employment characteristics and job satisfactions by gender and to explore the influences of demographic status and employment characteristics on job satisfaction. Method: Social statistics survey data collected by Ministry of Statistics in 1998 were used for the secondary analysis in the study. Job satisfaction was measured by questionnaire which were consisted in 12 items such as task, promotion, placement, wage, benefits, future in the work, working environment, human relationship, working hours. Result: The results show that more than 50% of women were working as a part-time employees. Their education level were lower than men. Women workers were unmarried at higher percents than men. Men were showed more satisfaction significantly in their job than women. Men also had higher job satisfaction with work task, promotion, placement, and human relation. Women had shown higher job satisfaction with wage, working environment, and employer-employee relationship. Employment status had the most important factor on the job satisfaction. And, living status satisfaction, education, age, occupation, marital status, employment status and sex were significant for the job satisfaction. 33.34% of the variance in the job satisfaction were accounted for by these variables. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that there were difference of job satisfaction between gender and employment status was the most predictive factors on the job satisfaction. Women had more unstable employment status such as part-time, employment on probation, or family employer without wage than men. Stability of employment could be considered as a strategy for enhancing job satisfaction for women.
Purpose - This study is intended to explore influential factors on the life satisfaction of physically challenged laborers preparing for support plans for their future. This is to enjoy a better life and have social opportunities and to review institutional support or plans for implementation to be applied for physically challenged people. Research design, data, and methodology - 4,161 disabled people participated in the Panel Survey of Employment of the Disabled. Among 2,124 physically challenged people, 957 wage workers (45%) were primarily extracted in this study, and a total of 581 (27%) with sufficient responses on the questionnaires were finally selected. Results - First, physical preparation for later life had a positive influence on retired life satisfaction among retirement satisfaction. People showed higher retired life satisfaction. Secondly, physical preparation for later life had a positive influence on satisfaction over relationship after retirement among retirement satisfaction. Conclusions - In this study, it was found that job satisfaction was the variable with the highest influential power on life satisfaction. Therefore, it seems to be necessary to proceed a research as to which factors influence life satisfaction in the medium of job satisfaction and also about plans to improve job satisfaction on experts or the disabled.
There will be many changes in job consciousness and job satisfaction due to changes in various job fields and social interests, and it is necessary to manage them efficiently for the organization to continue to grow. By analyzing factors influencing job satisfaction by occupation, the study intended to provide the necessary data for an efficient management plan. 400 Employees working at S tertiary hospital in Seoul from April 1st to April 15th, 2015 were targeted. An analysis of the validity and reliability of the influencing factors was conducted, and the allied health profession which showed the highest level of satisfaction in overall job satisfaction and influencing factors were identified. It was found that achievement, compensation and working environment in the medical doctor profession, achievement, compensation and job stability in the nursing profession, achievement and working environment in the allied health profession, achievement, interpersonal relationships, working environment, and job stability in the administrative profession, were the main influencing factors for job satisfaction. It can be seen that not only motivation factors but also hygiene factors affect job satisfaction. To increase the level of satisfaction, it is judged that systematic management of hygiene factors as well as motivation factors is necessary.

PURPOSE: This study aimed to investigate the effect of empowerment on job satisfaction for physical therapists in general hospitals. METHODS: A total of 297 physical therapists working in general hospitals throughout the country participated in the study survey using self-administered questionnaires. The questionnaires comprised three major parts, i.e., questions about general characteristics, empowerment, and job satisfaction, which were rated using a 5-point Likert scale. Statistical analysis was performed to analyze the frequency and percentage of participants, and the independent t-test and analysis of variance were performed to determine the difference in job satisfaction according to the general characteristics. Stepwise multiple regression was used to evaluate the factors that affect job satisfaction. RESULTS: The average of total empowerment, including two subordinate concepts, was 3.29 points, that of psychological empowerment was 3.53 points, and that of structural empowerment was 3.05 points. The average job satisfaction of the participants was 3.43 points, and it showed a significant difference in age, overall work experience, current work experience, position, annual salary, and daily work hours. Moreover, job satisfaction increased as the subordinate factors for empowerment, i.e., support, resources, chance, and competence, increased. Other factors that affect job satisfaction were daily work hours, number of colleagues, type of work, annual salary, and therapeutic assistance. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated that job satisfaction of physical therapists working in general hospitals was related to empowerment, thereby indicating that job satisfaction and work performance can be increased by improving their empowerment.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of psychiatric and community mental health nurses' job satisfaction. Methods: This was a descriptive and correlational study in which 151 psychiatric and community mental health nurses (PCMHNs) took part between September and October 2009. Results: The mean score for job satisfaction of the participants was 3.25. In job satisfaction, there were significant differences between psychiatric and community mental health nurse practitioner (PCMHNP) and nurse in community mental health center. All variables except role conflict were positively correlated with job satisfaction. As a result, factors influencing job satisfaction were reward system (${\beta}$=.46, p<.001), self-esteem (${\beta}$=.35, p<.001), leadership (${\beta}$= .27, p<.001), career as a PCMHNP (${\beta}$=-.12, p<.007), job-related characteristics (${\beta}$=.11, p<.24), and career as a nurse in community mental health center (${\beta}$=.09. p<.045). These factors explained 70.3% of the total variance. Conclusion: The results indicated that the comprehensive understanding of job satisfaction to the independent variables could suggest the way how to increase the job satisfaction for psychiatric and community mental health nurse who are a catalysts promoting mental health in community mental health center.
The purpose of this study is to examine the job satisfaction of teachers in urban and rural day care centers. The subjects of this study were 134 teachers in urban(n=68) and rural(n=66) areas. Participants completed an early childhood job satisfaction survey. The statistics used for this data were t-test, one-way ANOVA (Duncan's test), and multiple regression analysis. The study showed significant differences between urban and rural teachers' job satisfaction in the job itself, human relationships, and working environment. The job satisfaction of the teachers in urban day care centers was influenced significantly by the related variables: age of teacher, marital status, education level, educational career, capacity, number of classes, class size, working hours, and the age of the children in class. The job satisfaction of the teachers in rural day care centers was influenced significantly by the above variables. The important factors on predicting the job satisfaction of the urban day care teachers were found to be the age of teachers, educational career, education level, and number of classes. The important factors for predicting the job satisfaction of the rural day care center teachers were found to be the age of teacher, educational career, education level, number of classes and working hours.
Employee turnover and job satisfaction are the main concerns of Foodservice indusryy because of a high dependence on human resources. This study was carried out to find out the differences of job satisfaction of employees in Foodservice industry and identify the effects of job satisfaction on turnover intention by major at the college or university. In comparison of job satisfaction of employees by 3 groups of food-related majored, tourism-business majored, and other majored, there were no significant differences among groups. But in the correlation between overall and 6 factors of job satisfaction, there were all significant correlations in food-related majored and tourism-business majored employees. Employees in Foodservice industry were satisfied by different demographic characteristics according to what they majored at college. Statistically significant variables that affect to the job satisfaction were gender, employment status, length of employment, monthly income, working hour per week in the food-related majored employees and employment status in the tourism-business majored employees. Finally, among job satisfaction factors, intention to quit was negatively affected by supervision in food-related majored and tourism-business majored employees, but positively affected by job environment only in tourism-business majored employees.

Background: This study examined the relationship between the empowerment, and occupational professionalism of physical therapists, and the factors affecting their job satisfaction. Methods: The subjects of the study were 240 physical therapists who had worked at medical institutions for more than a year. Data were collected from April 1 to 30, 2022. Results: The mean scores for job satisfaction, empowerment, and occupational professionalism were 3.43±.52, 3.60±.60, and 3.74±.40 points, respectively. Empowerment was positively correlated with occupational professionalism (r=.75, p<.001) and job satisfaction (r=.59, p<.001). Also, occupational professionalism was positively correlated with job satisfaction (r=.68, p<.001). The factors influencing job satisfaction were empowerment (β=.17, p<.05) and occupational professionalism (β=.56, p<.001), showing an explanatory power of 48%. Conclusions: The results of this study revealed that the higher the empowerment and occupational professionalism, the higher the job satisfaction of physical therapists. To improve their job satisfaction, it is, therefore, necessary to develop and apply an effective program to improve their empowerment and occupational professionalism level. These research results can be useful as basic data for improving the job environment of these therapists and the policies relating to their work.
Background: This study is to identify the factors that affect job satisfaction, psychological ownership, and job engagement of dental hygienists on job performance and use them as basic data for manpower management of dental hygienists. Methods: The survey was conducted by 344 clinical dental hygienists working in dental medical institutions. The collected data is PASW Statistics ver. 20.0 was used to analyze. Results: The job satisfaction level of the dental hygienist was 3.38±0.52, and the question that 'I feel that my ability to solve problems has improved compared to the past.' was 3.92±0.80. There were significant differences in job satisfaction, psychological ownership, and job engagement according to general characteristics in age, marriage, education, career, current work experience, and position. There were significant differences in job performance according to general characteristics in age, marriage, education, career, current work experience, position, and number of dental hygienists. Factors influencing job performance were practical activities, income, patient relations, absorption, vigor, dedication, and the number of dental hygienists. Conclusion: Finding different ways to use psychological ownership and job engagement through the job satisfaction of a dental hygienist, and to and to utilize it as basic data for efficient manpower management through job performance.
