This study analyses labor transition of middle-aged and elderly in Korea utilizing Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA). Then it estimates the effects of perceived job stability for the middle-aged and elderly on poverty exit based on the age group simulation. The outcomes suggest that mid-50s and over are highly vulnerable to early retirement and they suffer from unstable employment and low possibility of re-employment. The logit analysis that simulates the effects of perceived job stability on poverty exit shows that mid-50s are more likely to get off the poverty than 65 and over when they have stable jobs. These implies that labor market policies should be designed in a tailor-made manner in consideration of the age group and its characteristics. This study also suggests the introduction of progressive labor policy measures that extends retirement age, that provides with job opportunities to middle-age and elderly, and that links employment and welfare under the umbrella of income security plan for the middle-aged and elderly.

Using extensive job posting big data, this study investigates the industrial and locational characteristics of decent work from the supply side. The analysis revealed that manufacturing is pivotal in supplying decent work, accompanied by a stark regional disparity, most notable in the Seoul Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which constitutes nearly half of all decent work opportunities. The study further uncovered that the distribution of decent work varies significantly across MSAs, with a pronounced inclination towards a higher supply in peripheral rather than central areas. These findings bring to light the critical need for policies that bolster manufacturing, aiming to enhance the availability of high-quality jobs and to bridge the job quality gap between the Seoul MSA and other regions. Moreover, the results emphasize the necessity for customized job supply strategies in each MSA, prioritizing strategies that account for the proximity between workplaces and living areas in the job supply process.

Frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using the SPSS statistical program and based on the survey data of 260 skin care contract students. The main results were as follows. First, contract students had high job satisfaction because of sufficient in-service training during the internship and also received the authority to perform the job duties of their positions. Second, the regular technical education for the job of contract students gave them confidence in job performance and job confidence, which led to long-term employee retention. As the global business environment is rapidly changing due to the 4th industrial revolution, new jobs that did not exist before are emerging. Among them, the job that companies are most interested in is 'Data Scientist'. As information and communication technologies take up most of our lives, data on not only online activities but also offline activities are stored in computers every hour to generate big data. Companies put a lot of effort into discovering new opportunities from such big data. The new job that emerged along with the efforts of these companies is data scientist. The demand for data scientist, a promising job that leads the big data era, is constantly increasing, but its supply is not still enough. Although data analysis technologies and tools that anyone can easily use are introduced, companies still have great difficulty in finding proper experts. One of the main reasons that makes the data scientist's shortage problem serious is the lack of understanding of the data scientist's job. Therefore, in this study, we explore the job competencies of a data scientist by qualitatively analyzing the actual job posting information of the company. This study finds that data scientists need not only the technical and system skills required of software engineers and system analysts in the past, but also business-related and interpersonal skills required of business consultants and project managers. The results of this study are expected to provide basic guidelines to people who are interested in the data scientist profession and to companies that want to hire data scientists.
This study analyzed the effects of wage workers' job satisfaction, life satisfaction on turnover intention, and moderating effect of employment type after the global financial crisis using Korean Labor and Income Panel Study data. As a result, we found that the higher the job satisfaction is, the lower the turnover intention. However, the higher the job satisfaction and life satisfaction are, the higher the turnover intention. This is because the more satisfied with the job environment, the higher the tendency to seek better job opportunities, or the change in occupational value that favored free work. The higher the age, the higher the educational level, and the regular jobs are, the turnover intention decreased. In addition, the interaction terms of job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction, and regular employment all showed a moderating effect of employment type. However, since the results of the relationship between job satisfaction, job environmental satisfaction, life satisfaction and turnover intention, and the moderating effect may be due to limitations of measurement variables, further study is needed.
