A cross-sectional study was conducted to assess the association between musculoskeletal workload and psychosocial job stress variables from 100 employees from a cable making industry. It was found that the employees who had to do musculoskeletal hazardous tasks suffered higher psychosocial stress in 'decision latitude', 'job insecurity' and 'psychological job demands' also. The employees with higher level of psychosocial job stress in 'psychological job demands' and 'score of the "type A" personality' responded that they had higher 'physical job demands' from the task irrespective of its musculoskeletal hazardousness. These results confirm that musculoskeletal workload were associated with both physical and psychosocial work factors. Attention should be paid to psychosocial work factors along with physical workload to prevent musculoskeletal disorders in the manufacturing industries.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the MICE industrial employee's job stressors on intent to leave and test of the mediating role of job satisfaction and job commitment. For the study, job stressors were defined 3 groups with 7 sub-factors, such as role stressors of role ambiguity, role conflict and role overload, task stressors of job routineness and job heteronomy, organizational stressors of job insecurity and distributive injustice. Data were collected from 303 MICE industrial employees in metropolitan area by structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed by AMOS 18.0 and findings are as follows. Firstly, on aspect of total effectiveness, the seven job stressors had harmful effect on intent to leave, especially organizational stressors had more serious effect on intent to leave than role stressors. Secondly, not only job satisfaction and job commitment had meditators role but also influenced on intent to leave directly. Thirdly, role ambiguity had effect on intent to leave indirectly through the job satisfaction, while role conflict and role overload had effect on intent to leave directly, and also indirect effectiveness on it through the job commitment. Fourthly, job routineness and job heteronomy had effected on intent to leave only through the meditators. Not only job insecurity and distributive injustice had influenced on intent to leave directly but also effectiveness on it indirectly through the meditators.

Objectives: This research was done to identify relationships among job stress, fatigue, job satisfaction, and commitment to organization in customized home health care nurses. Methods: Research participants were 130 nurses who worked in the customized home health care of 20 county in Gyeongnam province. Data collection for this descriptive correlational study was done at August 2010 using self report questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and we analyzed a four step approach in which several regression analyses were conducted and significance of the coefficients is examined at each step. Results: The results from step 1 showed that, the effect of each job stress was significantly related to job satisfaction. In step 2, the direct effect of commitment to organization on job satisfactions were all significant too. Step 3 analysis showed that the total effect of each job stress on commitment to organization symptoms was significant. Step 4 showed the results of controlling for mediating factor (job satisfaction): job demand and insecurity were significantly associated with commitment to organization(p<0.001), the finding supports that others were fully mediated by each job satisfaction, and, the job demand and insecurity were partially mediated by job satisfaction. Conclusion: Results of this research indicated that job stress in customized home health care nurses was the principal variable affecting job satisfaction and commitment to organization. Appropriate stress management strategies based on assessment of job demand and job security for these nurses lead to development of improved commitment to organization.
The purpose of this research is to analyze the predictive powers of the five technostress creators - techno-overload, techno-invasion, techno-complexity, techno-insecurity, and techno-uncertainty - in job satisfaction and teacher efficacy of primary school teachers in Korea when they incorporated mobile technology into teaching. A questionnaire was designed to measure the level of teacher's stress from technology, job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. Data were collected from 164 teachers. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to explain which area of technostress led to varying degrees of job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. The results showed that techno-complexity alone predicted both job satisfaction and teacher efficacy. The reason why techno-complexity was the only predictor is that teachers would have first needed to understand how to incorporate mobile technology into teaching, before feeling overloaded, invaded, insecure, or uncertain about it, meaning techno-complexity precedes other constructs. Therefore, the only stress factor that affected them was how to understand the complexity of mobile technology. This calls for adequate training and support from schools and governments in order for the teachers to fully incorporate technology into teaching.

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) have become a hot issue in the Korean workplace for the past several years. So many manufacturing companies have tried to improve the work environments for the control and the prevention of the WMSDs. This study investigates the relation between WMSDs and job stress from 965 workers in a shipbuilding company by questionnaire analysis. The seven job stress factors which are job autonomy, job insecurity, organizational system, workplace culture, unfair compensation, relationship conflict, and job requirement were analyzed. The prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders symptoms were 12.9%. The analysis showed that job stress by job autonomy was higher than that by job stress factor. WMSDs were associated with job requirement, organizational system, unfair compensation and workplace culture. The results could be used to design the management program for the reduction of job stress.
Objectives : Job insecurity, such as non-standard work, is reported to have an adverse impact on health, regardless of health behaviors. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between non-standard employment and health in Korea. Methods : We analyzed a representative weighted sample, which consisted of 2,112 men and 1,237 women, aged 15-64, from the 1998 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Non-standard employment included part-time permanent, short time temporary and daily workers. Self-reported health was used as a health indicator. Results : This study indicated that women were more likely to report poorer health than men with standard jobs. Of all employees, 20.3% were female manual workers. After adjusting for potential confounders, such as age, education, equivalent income, marital, social and self-reported economic status and health behavior factors, nonstandard employment was found to be significantly associated with poor health among female manual workers (OR, 1.86; 95% CI, 1.24 to 2.79). No significant association was found in other working groups Conclusions : Among female manual workers, nonstandard employees reported significantly poorer health compared with standard workers. This result raises concern as there are increasing numbers of non-standard workers, particularly females.
