The microstructural transitions of aqueous micellar solutions of cetyltrime-thylammonium bromide and sodiumdodecyl sulfate by adding 1-hexanol were investigated, measuring the concentrations of equilibrated phases and the electrical conductivities at the low concentrations of surfactants, where the solobilities of 1-hexanol varied significantly, at 3$0^{\circ}C$ and 45$^{\circ}C$. Ternary phase diagrams of multiphase regions, constructed by liquid chromatography analysis and by counting the number of phase of samples, consisted of one three-phase region and three two-phase regions. One of the two-phase regions was found to equilibrate an aqueous micellar solution and a liquid crystal, and had a critical point between them. Near this region, the solubility curve varied abruptly, and the isotropic solution turned birefrigent. The conductivities of the single phase regions above the critical point increased up to a certain point as 1-hexanol added, and then decreased, representing the microstructural transition at the supercritical region. Further, the solubility of 1-hexanol in aqueous micellar solution was found to increase as temperature and the number of hydrophilelipophile balance of surfactants increase.

In this study, we classify surfaces of revolution of Type 1 in the three dimensional Galilean space 𝔾3 in terms of the position vector field, Gauss map, and Laplacian operator of the first and the second fundamental forms on the surface. Furthermore, we give a classification of surfaces of revolution of Type 1 generated by a non-isotropic curve satisfying the pointwise 1-type Gauss map equation.
The original elastoplastic Hardening Soil model is formulated actually partly under hexagonal pyramidal Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion, and can be only used in specific stress paths. It must be completely generalized under Mohr-Coulomb criterion before its usage in engineering practice. A set of generalized constitutive equations under this criterion, including shear and volumetric yield surfaces and hardening laws, is proposed for Hardening Soil model in principal stress space. On the other hand, a Mohr-Coulumb type yield surface in principal stress space comprises six corners and an apex that make singularity for the normal integration approach of constitutive equations. With respect to the isotropic nature of the material, a technique for processing these singularities by means of Koiter's rule, along with a transforming approach between both stress spaces for both stress tensor and consistent stiffness matrix based on spectral decomposition method, is introduced to provide such an approach for developing generalized Hardening Soil model in finite element analysis code ABAQUS. The implemented model is verified in comparison with the results after the original simulations of oedometer and triaxial tests by means of this model, for volumetric and shear hardenings respectively. Results from the simulation of oedometer test show similar shape of primary loading curve to the original one, while maximum vertical strain is a little overestimated for about 0.5% probably due to the selection of relationships for cap parameters. In simulation of triaxial test, the stress-strain and dilation curves are both in very good agreement with the original curves as well as test data.

Ground reaction curve is very useful information for estimating the installation time of the tunnel support. The ground reaction curve can be estimated by analytical closed form solutions derived in case of circular section and isotropic stress condition. The nature of the ground reaction, however, depends significantly on tunnel configurations. Nevertheless, few purely analytical and experimental studies of this problem due to tunnel configurations appear to have been carried out. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the influence of tunnel configurations in order to use simply in practical design. This paper describes a numerical study for the intial elastic displacement in the ground reaction curve due to configuration of tunnel excavation. In order to evaluate the applicability of analytical closed form solution in practical design, the parametric studies were carried out by numerical analysis in elastic tunnel behaviour. In the studies, S value, namely configuration factor, defined as the ratio between tunnel height (b) and width (a), varies between 0.5 and 3.0, initial ground vertical stress varies between 5~30 MPa for each S values. The results indicated that the self-supportability of ground is larger in the ground having low S value. It, however, is suggested that the applicability of closed form solution may not be adequate to determine directly the installation time of the support and self-supportability of ground. It should be necessary to perform the additional numerical analysis.
Ground reaction curve is a very important information for evaluating the side wall displacements and installation time of the tunnle support. The ground reaction curve can be estimated by analytical closed form solutions derived on the supposition of circular section and isotropic stress condition. The conditions of stress field and tunnel configurations, however, are quite different in practice. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the effects of stress anisotropy and tunnel configurations in order to use simply in practical design. This paper describes a study of influence factors in the ground reaction curve. In order to evaluate the applicability of analytical closed form solution in practical design, two sets of parametric studies were carried out by numerical analysis in elastic tunnel behaviour: one set of studies investigated the influence of the K and the other set investigated the influence of the tunnel configurations such as circular and horse-shoe shape. In the studies, K value varies between 0.5 and 3.0, initial ground vertical stress varies between 5~30MPa far each K values. The results indicated that the self-supportability of ground is larger in the ground having lower K value. However, it is suggested that the applicability of closed form solution may not be adequate to determine directly the installation time of the support and self-supportability of ground. It is necessary to consider stress anisotropy and tunnel configurations.
In this paper, a novel semi-energy finite strip method (FSM) is developed based on the concept of first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) in order to attempt the post-buckling solution for thin and relatively thick functionally graded (FG) plates under uniform end-shortening. In order to study the effects of through-the-thickness shear stresses on the post-buckling behavior of FG plates, two previously developed finite strip methods, i.e., semi-energy FSM based on the concept of classical laminated plate theory (CLPT) and a CLPT full-energy FSM, are also implemented. Moreover, the effects of aspect ratio on initial post-buckling stiffness of FG rectangular plates are studied. It has been shown that the variation of the ratio of initial post-buckling stiffness to pre-buckling stiffness ($S^*/S$) with respect to aspects ratios is quite independent of volume fractions of constituents in thin FG plates. It has also been seen that the universal curve representing the variation of ($S^*/S$) with aspect ratio of a FG plate demonstrate a saw shape curve. Moreover, it is revealed that for the thin FG plates in contrast to relatively thick plates, the variations of non-dimensional load versus end-shortening is independent of ceramic-metal volume fraction index. This means that the post-buckling behavior of thin FG plates and the thin pure isotropic plates is similar. The results are discussed in detail and compared with those obtained from finite element method (FEM) of analysis. The study of the results may have a great influence in design of FG plates encountering post-buckling behavior.

Multi-crystalline silicon solar cells is not exist a specific crystal direction different from single crystalline silicon solar cells. In functional materials, therefore, isotropic wet etching of mc-Si solar cell is easy the acid solution rather than the alkaline solution. The reflectance of wet texturing process is about 25% and the reflectance of RIE texturing process is achieved less than 10%. In addition, wet texturing has many disadvantages as well as reflectance. So wet texturing process has been replaced by a RIE texturing process. In order to apply BIPV, RIE and wet textured multi-crystalline silicon solar cell modules was manufactured by different kind of EVA sheet. Moreover, in case of BIPV, the short circuit current characteristics according to the angle of incidence is more important, because the installation of BIPV is fixed location. In this study, we has measured SEM image and I-V curve of RIE and wet textured silicon solar cell and PV module. Also we has analyzed quantum efficiency characteristics of RIE and wet textured silicon solar cell for PV modules depending on incidence angle.
Type-3 cylinder liner has a limitation of machining the standard specimen for fracture toughness test because it has approximately 5 mm in thickness as well as a curvature. Hence, it needs to be employed a miniature specimen test technique to evaluate fracture toughness of the cylinder liner. In this study, small punch (SP) test method was employed to evaluate fracture toughness of the cylinder liner. Load-displacement curve result measured from the SP test showed that the liner material was failed during membrane stretching in the general SP load-displacement curve. Additionally, it was shown that liner material was isotropic although the amount of plastic deformation was different depending on the direction due to manufacturing process characteristics. Fracture toughness, $J_{Ic}$, was evaluated using the SP test data. The value of fracture toughness obtained was $13.0kJ/m^2$. This value was similar to that of the same kind of materials. Therefore, the fracture toughness evaluated using the SP test data was reasonable.
In order to investigate mechanics of mixtures composed of sand and non-plastic silt, various specimens, with sand dominating the soil structure, and with varying fines content, fines content varying were produced. Isotropic consolidation tests were performed using high pressure triaxial test apparatus within high pressure levels where sand grain crushing happened. Experimental results showed that compressive curve of sand after yielding contracts to the NCL due to breakage of sand grains. Moreover, with the increase of fines content, coarse grains are surrounded by fines to form cushion effect, which made the breakage of coarse grains become difficult. Therefore, the maximum inclination of compressive curve became flatter and yield stress increased.
The elastic waves in a plate are dispersive waves due to the characteristics of Lamb waves. However, S0 symmetric mode is less dispersive in the frequency region below the first cut-off frequency. The wave Propagation velocities vary with the direction in anisotropic plates such as Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) Plates. The wave vector direction and energy flow vector direction are same in isotropic plates. However, the wave vector direction same as the phase velocity direction is not in accordance with the energy flow direction same as the group velocity direction in anisotropic plates. In this study. the dispersion curves or the phase velocity from anti-symmetric and symmetric Lamb wave dispersion equation are calculated for unidirectional laminated composite plate. Slowness surface is sketched using phase velocity under the first cut-off frequency. The direction and magnitude of group velocity are corrected with this slowness surface. The measured group velocities are in good agreement with the corrected group velocity curve except near the fiber direction zone which is called the cusp region.
