  • In this paper, a constant frequency phase shifting PWM-controlled voltage source full bridge-type series load resonant high-frequency inverter using the $4^{th}$ generation IGBT power modules is presented for innovative consumer electromagnetic induction heating applications, such as a hot water producer, steamer and super heated steamer. The bridge arm side link passive capacitive snubbers in parallel with each power semiconductor device and AC load side linked active edge inductive snubber-assisted series load resonant tank soft switching inverter with a constant frequency phase shifted PWM control scheme is evaluated and discussed on the basis of the simulation and experimental results. It is proved from a practical point of view that the series load resonant and edge resonant hybrid high-frequency inverter topology, what is called, DE class type, including the variable-power variable-frequency regulation function can expand zero voltage soft switching commutation area even under low output power setting ranges, which is more suitable and acceptable for newly developed induction heated dual pack fluid heaters. Furthermore, even the lower output power regulation mode of this high-frequency load resonant tank inverter circuit is verified so that this inverter can achieve ZVS with the aid of the single auxiliary inductor snubber.

The full bridge arm side link passive quasi-resonant capacitor snubbers in parallel with the each power semiconductor device and high frequency AC load side linked active edge inductive snubber-assisted series load resonant tank soft switching inverter with a constant frequency phase shifted PWM control scheme is discussed and evaluated on the basis of the simulation and experimental results. It is proved from a practical point of view that the series load resonant and edge resonant hybrid high-frequency soft switching PWM inverter topology, what is called class DE type. including the variable-power variable-frequency(VPVF) regulation function can expand zero voltage soft switching commutation range even under low output power setting ranges, which is more suitable and acceptable for induction heated dual packs fluid heater developed newly for consumer power utilizations. • This paper presents a novel prototype of the utilityinteractive voltage source type sinewave pulse modulated power inverter using a high-frequency flyback transformer link. The proposed power conditioner circuit for the solar photovoltaic generation and small scale fuel cell has an isolation function due to the safety of the power processing system, which is more cost effective and acceptable for the small-scale distributed renewal energy conditioning and processing systems. The discontinuous current mode(DCM) of this power processing conversion circuit is applied to implement a simple circuit topology and pulse modulated control scheme. Its operation principle is described on the basis of simulation evaluations and theoretical considerations. The simulation results obtained herein prove that the proposed inverter outputs with sinusoidal waveforms and unity power factor currents are synchronized to the main voltage in utility power source grid. In this paper, the soft switching topology of highfrequency linked sinewave pulse modulation inverter is proposed and discussed.

  • This paper introduces the design and control method of braking chopper circuit which can supply input power to ventilation inverter of traction control system. The DC input voltage from auxiliary block (static inverter) is normally used as an input of ventilation inverter. It converts DC input to AC output voltage to drive cooling fans for traction control system and traction motors. The electrical braking force is very important for high speed train to guarantee safety even though the train is running in the dead section where the pantograph voltage is not supplied. When the high speed train decelerate speed in dead section, the regenerative energy is dissipated by braking resistor. This paper proposed the braking chopper control method to implement rheostatic braking function and the appropriate chopper circuit for supplying voltage source to ventilation inverter during rheostatic braking mode. The proposed chopper circuit makes it possible for traction control system to regenerate power continuously regardless of the existence of pantograph voltage. The feasibility of proposed braking chopper control and circuit were proven by inertia load test and actual train field test.

  • In this paper, digital peak current mode control for single phase H-bridge inverters is developed and implemented. The digital peak current mode control is achieved by directly controlling the PWM signals by cycle-by-cycle current limitation. Unlike the DC-DC converter where the output voltage always remains in the positive region, the output of DC-AC inverter flips from positive to negative region continuously. Therefore, when the inverter operates in negative region, the control should be changed to valley current mode control. Thus, a novel control logic circuit is required for the function and need to be analyzed for the hardware to track the sinusoidal reference in both regions. The problem of sub-harmonic instability which is inherent with peak current mode control is also addressed, and then proposes the digital slope compensation in constant-sloped external ramp to suppress the oscillation. For unipolar PWM switching method, an adaptive slope compensation in digital manner is also proposed. In this paper, the operating principles and design guidelines of the proposed scheme are presented, along with the performance analysis and numerical simulation. Also, a 200W inverter hardware prototype has been implemented for experimental verification of the proposed controller scheme.

  • The low-frequency characteristics of four-switch three-phase (FSTP) inverter are investigated in this paper. Firstly, a general space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) directly involved the neutral point voltage of DC-link is proposed, where no sector identifications and trigonometric function calculations are needed. Subsequently, to suppress the DC offset in the neutral point voltage, the relationship between the neutral point voltage and the ${\beta}-axis$ component of the load current is derived, and then a new neutral point voltage control scheme is proposed where no low pass filter is adopted. Finally, the relationship between the load power factor and the maximum linear modulation index of the FSTP inverter is revealed. Since the operational region for the FSTP inverter in low frequency is reduced by the enlarged amplitude of the neutral point voltage, a linear modulation range enlargement scheme is proposed. A permanent magnet synchronous motor with preset rotary speed serves as the low-frequency load of the FSTP inverter. Experimental results verify that the new neutral point voltage control scheme is effective in the deviation suppression of the neutral point voltage, and the proposed scheme is able to provide a larger linear operational region in low frequency.

  • An experimental study was performed to investigate the optimum cycle of an inverter heat pump as a function of frequency. The performance of the inverter heat pump with the rated cooling capacity of 4,141 W(3,550kcal/h) was measured with a variation of frequency, indoor and outdoor temperature, and length of capillary tube in the psychrometric test room. As a base case, the inverter heat pump with the standard capillary length of l,000mm(optimum size for the frequency of 60Hz) and ASHRAE Test condition "A" was tested by varying frequency from 30Hz to 80Hz. Then, the optimum cycles were investigated by varying the length of capillary tube at each frequency level of 30, 60 and 80Hz. Based on the experimental data, the change of system characteristics between the optimum and the base case were analyzed for each selected frequency level. Generally, for low frequency level(30Hz), the longer length of the capillary tube compared with the standard size showed the higher energy efficiency ratio(EER), while for high frequency level(80Hz) the shorter length of the capillary tube showed the higher EER.

  • Sun power generation systems which use large capacity centralized inverters have loss of power generation due to cloud and building shadows, pollution, cell deterioration, etc. To minimize loss of power generation, decentralized solar power systems using multiple micro-inverters are being proposed as an alternative. A distributed solar power system consisting of a system-connected system uses power line communication to collect data from the micro-inverters. Power line communication has the advantage of using power lines without separate lines for data transmission, but in distributed solar power generation systems that use a large number of micro-inverters, the bit error rate is less reliable due to the phenomenon caused by limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, and impedance characteristics. So we proposed wireless intelligent controller for micro-inverter that is used to build distributed solar power systems. and we design and implement that. Further, the proposed wireless intelligent controller for micro-inverter was used to establish a small-volume solar power plant to check its function and operation.

  • LCD needs a backlight that is a light source as a photodetector that has a light modulation function and CCFL is used usually. Inverter that composes using existent winding transformer operates multi lamps, however, this efficiency falls by losses of core or winding and volume or weight increases or there is danger of fire by overheating. In order to solve these problems, a multi lamp driving Inverter using PT is composed according to the design guideline in this paper. We conformed whether the multi lamp drive method using EEFL that a current burden is less in applicable to piezoelectric inverter, and used the method that connect two piezoelectric transformers by parallel to an inverter.
