  • In this work, the model of magneto-thermoelasticity based on memory-dependent derivative (MDD) is applied to a one-dimensional thermal shock problem for a functionally graded half-space whose surface is assumed to be traction free and subjected to an arbitrary thermal loading. The $Lam{\acute{e}}^{\prime}s$ modulii are taken as functions of the vertical distance from the surface of thermoelastic perfect conducting medium in the presence of a uniform magnetic field. Laplace transform and the perturbation techniques are used to derive the solution in the Laplace transform domain. A numerical method is employed for the inversion of the Laplace transforms. The effects of the time-delay on the temperature, stress and displacement distribution for different linear forms of Kernel functions are discussed. Numerical results are represented graphically and discussed.

  • Here in this investigation, a two-dimensional thermoelastic problem of thick circular plate of finite thickness under fractional order theory of thermoelastic diffusion has been considered in frequency domain. The effect of frequency in the axisymmetric thick circular plate has been depicted. The upper and lower surfaces of the thick plate are traction free and subjected to an axisymmetric heat supply. The solution is found by using Hankel transform techniques. The analytical expressions of displacements, stresses and chemical potential, temperature change and mass concentration are computed in transformed domain. Numerical inversion technique has been applied to obtain the results in the physical domain. Numerically simulated results are depicted graphically. The effect frequency has been shown on the various components.

  • The ground for this paper is to examine the generalized Stokes' first and second issues for an incompressible couple pressure liquid under isothermal conditions. Exact solutions for each problem are acquired by using the Laplace transform (LT) with respect to the time variable t and the sine Fourier transform (FT) with respect to the y-variable. Further, a comparison is given of the obtained results and the results of Devakar and Lyengar [1] and by using the four inverse Laplace transform algorithms (Stehfest's, Tzou's, Talbot, Fourier series) in the space time domain utilizing a numerical methodology. Moreover, velocity profiles are plotted and considered for various occasions and distinctive estimations of couple stress parameters. At the end, the outcomes are exhibited by graphs and in tabular forms.

  • The present research deals with the time harmonic deformation in transversely isotropic magneto thermoelastic solid with two temperature (2T), rotation and without energy dissipation due to inclined load. Lord-Shulman theory has been formulated for this mathematical model. The entire thermo-elastic medium is rotating with a uniform angular velocity. The Fourier transform techniques have been used to find the solution to the problem. The displacement components, stress components and conductive temperature distribution with the horizontal distance are computed in the transformed domain and further calculated in the physical domain using numerical inversion techniques. The effect of time harmonic source and rotation is depicted graphically on the resulting quantities.

  • The present paper is concerned with the investigation of disturbances in orthotropic thermoelastic medium by using fractional order heat conduction equation with three phase lags due to thermomechanical sources. Laplace and Fourier transform techniques are used to solve the problem. The expressions for displacement components, stress components and temperature change are derived in transformed domain and further in physical domain using numerical inversion techniques. The effect of fractional parameter based on its conductivity i.e., ($0<{\alpha}<1$ for weak, ${\alpha}=1$ for normal, $1<{\alpha}{\leq}2$ for strong conductivity) is depicted graphically on various components.

  • This research deals with the study of the Thomson heating effect in magneto-thermoelastic homogeneous isotropic rotating medium, influenced by linearly distributed load and as a result of modified couple stress theory. The charge density is taken as a function of the time of the induced electric current. The heat conduction equation with energy dissipation and with hyperbolic two-temperature (H2T) is used to formulate the model of the problem. Laplace and Fourier transforms are used to solve this mathematical model. Various components of displacement, temperature change, and axial stress as well as couple stress are obtained from the transformed domain. To get the solution in physical domain, numerical inversion techniques have been employed. The Thomson effect with GN (Green-Nagdhi) -III theory and Modified Couple Stress Theory (MCST) is shown graphically on the physical quantities.
