In an industrial field, non-destructive testing (NDT) is commonly used to inspect industrial products. Among NDT methods using radiation sources, X-ray laminography has several advantages, such as high depth resolution and low computational costs. Moreover, an X-ray laminography system with stationary source array and compact detector is able to reduce mechanical motion artifacts and improve inspection efficiency. However, this system, called stationary inverse-geometry X-ray laminography (s-IGXL), causes truncation artifacts in reconstructed images due to limited fields-of-view (FOVs). In this study, we proposed a projection data correction (PDC) method to reduce the truncation artifacts arisen in s-IGXL images, and the performance of the proposed method was evaluated with the different number of focal spots in terms of quantitative accuracy. Comparing with conventional techniques, the PDC method showed superior performance in reducing truncation artifacts and improved the quantitative accuracy of s-IGXL images for all the number of focal spots. In conclusion, the PDC method can improve the accuracy of s-IGXL images and allow precise NDT measurements.

I. Purpose The dose distribution in normal tissues and target lesions is very important in the treatment planning. To make the uniform dose distribution in target lesions, many methods has been used. Especially in the head and neck, the dose inhomogeneity at the skin surface should be corrected. Conventional methods have a limitation in delivering the enough doses to the planning target volume (PTV) with minimized dose to the parotid gland and spinal cord. In this study, we investigated the feasibility and the practical QA methods of the forward IMRT. II. Material and Methods The treatment plan of the forward IMRT with the partial block technique using the dynamic multi-leaf collimator (dMLC) for the patients with the nasopharyngeal cancer was verified using the dose volume histogram (DVH). The films and pinpoint chamber were used for the accurate dose verification. III. Results As a result of verifying the DVH for the 2-D treatment plan with the forward IMRT, the dose to the both parotid gland and spinal cord were reduced. So the forward IMRT could save the normal tissues and optimize the treatment. Forward IMRT can use the 3-D treatment planning system and easily assure the quality, so it is easily accessible comparing with inverse IMRT IV. Conclusion The forward IMRT could make the uniform dose in the PTV while maintaining under the tolerance dose in the normal tissues comparing with the 2-D treatment.
Modern methods in determining the value of the Hubble constant are divided into two main ways: the classical distance ladder method and the inverse distance ladder method. The classical distance ladder method is based on Cepheid calibrated Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia), which are known as powerful distance indicator. The inverse distance ladder method uses cosmic microwave background radiation, which emitted from the high-z universe, and the cosmological model. Recent estimations of the Hubble constant based on these two methods show a $2{\sim}3{\sigma}$ difference, which called the "Hubble tension". It is currently an issue in the modern cosmology. We have been working on the luminosity calibration of SNe Ia based on the Tip of the Red Giant Branch (TRGB), which is a precise population I distance indicator. We present the TRGB distance estimates of 5 SNe Ia host galaxies with the archival Hubble Space Telescope image data. We derive the mean absolute maximum magnitude of 5 SNe Ia and the value of the Hubble constant. Cosmological implications of our estimate will be discussed.
The objective of the present work is to examine the evaporation shape of deposited droplet on the hot surface. this paper performed the experiments as following conditions: (a) the surface temperature is within the range between $80^{\circ}C$ and $95^{\circ}C$ in the conduction and radiation, (b) droplet diameter is 3.0mm. The results are as follows; while droplet evaporates, droplet's radius is kept changelessly to $70\%$ evaporation time and droplet's shape is kept changelessly after. In case use Constant radius model, about $10\%$ is appearing high than value that time-averaged heat flux applies Inverse heat conduction.
In radiation brachytherapy, the wrong source location may cause excessive dose to normal tissue. Therefore, research on digital dosimeters is being made to replace the analog detection method. Therefore, in this study, a lead (II) oxide (PbO) dosimeter applied with a passive layer (PL) was fabricated as a basic study to improve the dosimeter performance. Afterwards, reproducibility, linearity, and distance dependence were evaluated to analyze the performance of the Ir-192 source under irradiation conditions. The reproducibility of the PL-PbO dosimeter was 0.40%, which satisfies the evaluation criteria of 1.5%, and showed improved results compared to the PbO dosimeter. Linear function R2 showed excellent results as 0.9995, and slope analysis through regression analysis of the linear function was excellent in PL-PbO. The distance dependence of the PL-PbO dosimeter was +0.599 higher than that of PbO when the slope obtained through regression analysis of the power function was compared with the inverse square value. This study presents the effects and measurement variables according to the measurement configuration of the solid-state dosimeter, and can be used in various radiation detection fields.
The purpose of this study is a comparison of forward planning(FP) and inverse planning(IP) of a radiosurgery procedure. 10 patients of acoustic schwannoma MR image were used for treatment plan. FP-1,2 and IP were established under the same condition. FP and IP were compared by number of shot, conformity index(CI), paddic conformity index(PCI), gradiant index(GI) and treatment time. On average the treatment plan produced by IP tool provided an improved or similar CI, PCI, GI and reduced treatment time as compared to the FP (CI;FP-1:0.85, FP-2:0.86, IP:0.94, PCI;FP-1:0.79, FP-2:0.81, IP:0.78, GI;FP-1:2.94, FP-2:2.94, IP:3.01). The inverse planning system provides a clinically useful plan while reducing the planning time and treatment time.
We present results from an extensive synthetic observation analysis of numerically-simulated radio galaxy (RG) jets. This analysis is based on the first three-dimensional simulations to treat cosmic ray acceleration and transport self-consistently within a magnetohydrodynamical calculation. We use standard observational techniques to calculate both minimum-energy and inverse-Compton field values for our simulated objects. The latter technique provides meaningful information about the field. Minimum-energy calculations retrieve reasonable field estimates in regions physically close to the minimum-energy partitioning, though the technique is highly susceptible to deviations from the underlying assumptions. We also study the reliability of published rotation measure analysis techniques. We find that gradient alignment statistics accurately reflect the physical situation, and can uncover otherwise hidden information about the source. Furthermore, correlations between rotation measure (RM) and position angle (PA) can be significant even when the RM is completely dominated by an external cluster medium.
Brachytherapy is a method of radiotherapy in advantage to achieve better local control with minimum radiation toxicity in comparison with external irradiation because radiation dose is distributed according to the inverse square low of gamma-ray emitted from the implanted sources. The main characteristics of brachytherapy are delivering of higher dose to target volume shortening of total treatment period and sparing of normal tissue. Recent development of iridium ribbons for low dose rate implant provides improvement of technology of brachytherapy in terms of safety and efficiency. High dose rate method. on the other hand, is effective to avoid unnecessary expoure of medical personnel.

When a Kigong master concentrates the Qi at Yintang, Laogong(P8), Qihai(CV6) meridian points during Kigong state, the change of magnetic field around acupoints Yintang, Laogong points has been measured using DROS-SQUID apparatus. After smoothing process of the continuously measured magnetic signal around acupoints for a few minutes, we could observe that a series of peaks, magnitude of 1~2 pT and period of 5 sec, appeared and find that these peaks were clearly changed as if switch on and off according to Qi concentration state. Before Qi radiation, a series of the peaks measured on Yintang or Laogong point of a Kigong master shows one of either SW-ON state or SW-OFF state as initial state. During Qi radiation, its state becomes inverse of initial state. After Qi radiation, it returns to the initial state for some cases (called P type ; push button switch type) or it remains inversion state for other cases (called T type; toggle switch type). From the data of peaks measured at different position from the Qi concentration acupoint, we found that the Qi radiation on an acupoint makes the switching effect even not at the acupoint that Qi is concentrated but at the other acupoints that Qi is not concentrated.
In this paper, the effects of superstrate on the radiation patterns of dipole on cylindrical bianisotropic subtrates were studied. Special constitutive relations are used to describe the bianisotropic properties of a material, such that the Green's function can be formulated. Electromagnetic fields and hounds conditions in spectral region were used to find Creen's function of the spectral representation and electromagnetic fields in space region were derived through inverse Fourier transformations of fields in spectral region using asymptotic formula for far zone. Radiation characteristics of axial Hertzian dipole on superstrate leaded cylindrical bianisotropic substrates were analyzed.
