Although the research of immune-based anomaly detection technology has made some progress, there are still some defects which have not been solved, such as the loophole problem which leads to low detection rate and high false alarm rate, the exponential relationship between training cost of mature detectors and size of self-antigens. This paper proposed an intrusion detection method based on changes of antibody concentration in immune response to improve and solve existing problems of immune based anomaly detection technology. The method introduces blood relative and blood family to classify antibodies and antigens and simulate correlations between antibodies and antigens. Then, the method establishes dynamic evolution models of antigens and antibodies in intrusion detection. In addition, the method determines concentration changes of antibodies in the immune system drawing the experience of cloud model, and divides the risk levels to guide immune responses. Experimental results show that the method has better detection performance and adaptability than traditional methods.

The advanced computer network and Internet technology enables connectivity of computers through an open network environment. Despite the growing numbers of security threats to networks, most intrusion detection identifies security attacks mainly by detecting misuse using a set of rules based on past hacking patterns. This pattern matching has a high rate of false positives and can not detect new hacking patterns, making it vulnerable to previously unidentified attack patterns and variations in attack and increasing false negatives. Intrusion detection and prevention technologies are thus required. We proposed a network based hybrid Probe Intrusion Detection model using Fuzzy cognitive maps (PIDuF) that detects intrusion by DoS (DDoS and PDoS) attack detection using packet analysis. A DoS attack typically appears as a probe and SYN flooding attack. SYN flooding using FCM model captures and analyzes packet information to detect SYN flooding attacks. Using the result of decision module analysis, which used FCM, the decision module measures the degree of danger of the DoS and trains the response module to deal with attacks. For the performance evaluation, the "IDS Evaluation Data Set" created by MIT was used. From the simulation we obtained the max-average true positive rate of 97.064% and the max-average false negative rate of 2.936%. The true positive error rate of the PIDuF is similar to that of Bernhard's true positive error rate.
With remarkable growth of using Internet, attempts to try intrusions on network are now increasing. Intrusion Detection System is a security system which detects and copes illegal intrusions. Especially with increasing dispersive attacks through network, concerns for this Distributed Intrusion Detection are also rising. The previous Intrusion Detection System has difficulty in coping cause it detects intrusions only on particular network and only same segment. About same attacks, system lacks capacity of combining information and related data. Also it lacks cooperations against intrusions. Systematic and general security controls can make it possible to detect intrusions and deal with intrusions and predict. This paper considers Distributed Intrusion Detection preventing attacks and suggests the way sending active packets between nodes safely and performing in corresponding active node certainly. This study suggested improved E-IDS system which prevents service attacks and also studied sending messages safely by encoding. Encoding decreases security attacks in active network. Also described effective ways of dealing intrusions when misuses happens thorough case study. Previous network nodes can't deal with hacking and misuses happened in the middle nodes at all, cause it just encodes ends. With above suggested ideas, problems caused by security services can be improved.

The implementation of abnormal behavior detection IDS is more difficult than the implementation of misuse behavior detection IDS because usage patterns are various. Therefore, most of commercial IDS is misuse behavior detection IDS. However, misuse behavior detection IDS cannot detect system intrusion in case of modified intrusion patterns occurs. In this paper, we apply data mining so as to detect intrusion with only audit data related in intrusion among many audit data. The agent in the distributed IDS can collect log data as well as monitoring target system. False positive should be minimized in order to make detection accuracy high, that is, core of intrusion detection system. So We apply data mining algorithm for prediction of modified intrusion pattern in the level of audit data learning.
An intrusion detection system writes a lot of alarms against attack behaviors in real time. These alarms contain not only actual attack alarms, but also false alarms that are mistakes made by the intrusion detection system. False alarms are the main reason that reduces the efficiency of the intrusion detection system, and we propose framework for false alarms analysis in the paper. Also, we apply an incremental data mining method for pattern analysis of false alarms increasing continuously. The framework consists of GUI, DB Manager, Alert Preprocessor, and False Alarm Analyzer. We analyze the false alarms increasingly through the experiment of the proposed framework and show that false alarms are reduced by applying the analyzed false alarm rules in the intrusion detection system.

Pervasive computing environment is similar to the meaning of ubiquitous computing, however it is a kind of the commercial product, which is made from the collaboration between NIST and IBM. On the basis of this environment, the research of mobile agents for intrusion detection is going on in progress. In this paper, we study the research about mobile agents for the intrusion detection and then suggest scenarios using moving mobile agents based on the multiple mobile agents in the intrusion detection. Subsequently, we could figure out the problems which occurred through progress of integrity movement as a matter of the intrusion detection.

In this paper, we propose a novel hierarchical distributed intrusion detection system, named HNHDIDS(Home Network Hierarchical Distributed Intrusion Detection System), which is not only based on the structure of distributed intrusion detection system, but also fully consider the environment of secure home networks service. The proposed system is hierarchically composed of the one-class support vector machine(support vector data description) and local agents, in which it is designed for optimizing for the environment of secure home networks service. We support our findings with computer experiments and analysis.

Recently, Intrusion detection system is an important technology in computer network system because of has seen a dramatic increase in the number of attacks. The most of intrusion detection methods do not detect intrusion on real-time because difficult to analyze an auditing data for intrusions. A network intrusion detection system is used to monitors the activities of individual users, groups, remote hosts and entire systems, and detects suspected security violations, by both insider and outsiders, as they occur. It is learns user's behavior patterns over time and detects behavior that deviates from these patterns. In this paper has rule-based component that can be used to encode information about known system vulnerabilities and intrusion scenarios. Integrating the two approaches makes Intrusion Detection System a comprehensive system for detecting intrusions as well as misuse by authorized users or Anomaly users (unauthorized users) using RFM analysis methodology and monitoring collect data from sensor Intrusion Detection System(IDS).
As the cyber-attacks through the networks advance, it is difficult for the intrusion detection system based on the simple rules to detect the novel type of attacks such as Advanced Persistent Threat(APT) attack. At present, many types of research have been focused on the application of machine learning techniques to the intrusion detection system in order to detect previously unknown attacks. In the case of using the machine learning techniques, the performance of the intrusion detection system largely depends on the feature set which is used as an input to the system. Generally, more features increase the accuracy of the intrusion detection system whereas they cause a problem when fast responses are required owing to their large elapsed time. In this paper, we present a network intrusion detection system based on artificial neural network, which adopts a multi-objective genetic algorithm to satisfy the both requirements: accuracy, and fast response. The comparison between the proposing approach and previously proposed other approaches is conducted against NSL_KDD data set for the evaluation of the performance of the proposing approach.
Recently with the explosive growth of Internet applications, the attacks of hackers on network are increasing rapidly and becoming more seriously. Thus information security is emerging as a critical factor in designing a network system and much attention is paid to Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS), which detects hackers' attacks on network and handles them properly However, the performance of current intrusion detection system cannot catch the increasing rate of the Internet speed because most of the NIDSs are implemented by software. In this paper, we propose a new high performance network intrusion using Network Processor. To achieve fast packet processing and dynamic adaptation of intrusion patterns that are continuously added, a new high performance network intrusion detection system using Intel's network processor, IXP1200, is proposed. Unlike traditional intrusion detection engines, which have been implemented by either software or hardware so far, we design an optimized architecture and algorithms, exploiting the features of network processor. In addition, for more efficient detection engine scheduling, we proposed task allocation methods on multi-processing processors. Through implementation and performance evaluation, we show the proprieties of the proposed approach.
