The VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) technology which is able to use a voice service through internet is more cheaper then existing telephone charges, and is easily accept the various of multimedia services from internet. Previous connection method of VoIP used H.323 protocol, but it is very complex to connection establishment. so, the SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) protocol that propose in SIP-Working Group Is in use recently. Therefore, we need new interworking methodology between H.323 and SW products. In this thesis, the progress interworking method between H.323 and SIP are propose, then interpret unnecessary packet delay for call setup and improved feature of message exchange.

The interworking for voice service between next generation mobile network and traditional network can be deployed better flexible and expansible network conditions with providing efficiency and economy of network at the same time. So it is essential to develop the interworking strategies together with a evolved network and traditional network. This paper describes a design and verification of internetworking protocol for CC of next generation mobile network and SIP of IP network for applying interworking technology to next generation mobile network, which can harmoniously expropraise voice service from traditional network.

Open interfaces in the optica] Internet have been progressed by OIF's ISI, ITU-T ASTN's CCI and IETF's GSMP extensions with optical switching. These open interfaces enable the separation between the control plane and the optical transport plane. This separation allows flexibility in the network, but it suffers more setup delay than the traditional switch-by-switch connection setup. We propose the parallel interworking model, which will reduce the connection setup delay in the open interface of optical Internet. Based on the switch controller's caching capability about networks states, the parallel interworking procedures between signaling protocol and GSMP protocol are performed in the switch controller. We simulated and evaluated our proposed parallel interworking model and the existing sequential interworking model in terms of a connection setup delay and a completion ratio. We observed that the completion ratios of the two interworking models were quite close. However the connection setup delay of parallel interworking model is improved by about 30% compared with that of the sequential interworking model.
In this paper, we consider the interworking methods for Internet layer 3 protocols. The legacy protocol for Internet is IPv4(IP version 4). The ability of IPv4 is not enough for modern real time multimedia communication services. So IPv6(IP version 6) protocol was suggested to resolve the problems of IPv4. 6Bones(IPv6 Backbones) have also constructed from 1996 in many countries. The 6Bones should be interoperatable to the legacy internet. To support all data services including voice and video, IP protocol should be enhanced because the characteristics of modern network services are requiring QoS(Quality of Service) functions, plug and play, security, mobility and so on. So a new IP protocol, IPv6, has been developing to meet the requirements. In this paper, some migration methods for internets are described. We first describe the protocol compatibility problems and suggest some solutions and scenario to solve the problems.

Abstract In B-ISDN environment, various subscribers are concentrated into a service node via a broadband access network. The SG13 of ITU-T is standardizing a connection control protocol which provides dynamic allocation of ATM resources between an access network and a service node. To establish an ATM connection, interworking functions between the connection control protocol and the signaling protocol are performed at the service node. ITU-T adopts the sequential interworking model. In this paper, we propose the parallel interworking model which minimizes the overall connection setup delay by introducing the access network. Using the performance analysis, we compare our proposed parallel model with the existing sequential model in terms of connection setup delay and completion ratio. The workload parameters of RACE MAGIC project are applied to the analysis and simulation.
The terrestrial/satellite hybrid network may replace or supply the terrestrial network in some areas or certain application. Futhermore, it can play an important role in the development of B-ISDN due to their features of flexible wide coverage, independent of ground distances and geographical constraints, multiple access and multipoint broadcast. Also, satellite have the capability to supply terrestrial ATM and B-ISDN with flexible links for access networks as well as trunk networks. This paper describes the design and verification of the interworking protocol between terrestrial B-ISDN and satellite network. For the verification, the designed interworking protocol is modeled by Petri-net and analyzed by reachability tree.

The terrestrial/satellite hybrid network may replace or supply the terrestrial network in some areas or certain applications. For example, it may play a major role in global B-ISDN or in certain areas where the deployment of optical cable is not feasible, especially at the early stage of implementing terrestrial B-ISDN. Furthermore, it can play an important role in the development of B-ISDN due to their features of flexible wide coverage, independent of ground distances and geographical constraints, multiple access and multipoint broadcast. Also, satellite have the capability to supply terrestrial B-ISDN/ATM with flexible links for access networks as well as trunk networks. This paper describes the design and verification of the interworking protocol between terrestrial B-ISDN뭉 satellite network. For the verification, the designed interworking protocol is modeled by Petri-net and the model is analyzed by reachability tree.

This paper proposes an integrated system for interworking different network management protocols. The interworking system between SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) and CMIP(Common Management Information Protocol) has been designed. We defined new managed object architecture using MOVI(Managed Object View Interface) concept and implemented an extended GDMO(EGDMO) compiler. An access mechanism for consistency control and atomic action on the sharing resources has been defined. Thus, even if a new management protocol would be introduced, new gateway system need not to be redesigned. It can be achieved with minimum modification of the view interface of managed objects. As a managed object can support various view interfaces, several network management protocols can directly access it. This approach, therefore, provides some benefits. For instance, manager can access managed objects without additional functions and tools. Ti, also, could be achieved interworking between SNMP and CMIP with minimum modification on the view interface of the managed objects defined previously. It is able to interwork more complicated network management protocols and to increase usefulness of SNMP and CMIP.

In this paper, a cross-layer interworking scheme for different protocols is proposed to provide an efficient internet services in very small aperture terminal (VSAT) based satellite communication systems. In addition, we implement the proposed interworking model and prove the feasibility of the proposed system. VSAT based satellite communication systems commonly use digital video broadcasting (DVB)-S2 standard. Unfortunately, DVB-S2 has inefficient parts to support IP based internet services because it has originally been designed to support broadcasting services. Generic stream encapsulation (GSE) protocol, which is a layer 2 protocol, has been proposed to mitigate this inefficiency. We propose a cross-layer interworking scheme to cooperate efficiently between IP and GSE protocols and between GSE protocol and DVB-S2, respectively. In addtion, we implement the proposed interworking schemes via computer softwares and prove the feasibility using NI-USRP and commercial DVB receiver.
