This study was designed to understand the residential experience of Korean women living in tropical country. For qualitative research, interviewees were selected by snowball sampling among Korean women living in Malaysia for over 20 years. The selection criteria for interviewees included husband's nationality, occupational experience, future living plan, frequency of travel to Korea. In-depth group and individual interviews were conducted from August 23 to October 7 2014. Subsequently (1) interviewees' general residential experiences in Malaysia were summarized, (2) interviewee's identity and lifestyle with housing pathways approach were clarified, (3) interviewees' residential experiences in 5 issues, reciprocity in residential area, intention of environmental change, meaning of housing and interaction, housing adaptation, and residential satisfaction/dissatisfaction were prescribed and interpreted. In conclusion, the reflection of interviewees' experiences in tropical country, suggested variations of housing structure type within a residential complex, air well and pocket by setback in building block for improving ventilation and noise prevention from neighbors, and ceiling fans in the house were suggested for the upcoming subtropical climate in Korea. Full option and minus options were also suggested for the presale market to reduce before occupancy remodeling needs. The research results implies valuable suggestions for a multicultural society, ecological housing and stronger communities.
This paper proposes a paradigm for research on broadcast political interviews. Developed using a series of studies, the paradigm introduces core aspects and questions that should be addressed when examining political interviews in a particular society. This paradigm will enable researchers to collect detailed accounts of the interaction between interviewers and interviewees, the structure and tone of the questions posed to interviewees and the interviewees' communicative style when addressing such questions, and the strategies employed by the participants to pursue their goals. It is hoped that the paradigm will encourage the interest and facilitate the study of televised political interviews particularly from the nationally, culturally, and socially diversified Asian countries. Gathering detailed data from non-Western societies in Asia will also facilitate our understanding of the function and effect of political communication from a cross-cultural perspective.
This study was undertaken to examine difficulties confronted by interviewees during post-divorce adjustment, and to investigate factors which influence critically to the post-divorce adjustment.. Interviewees were confronted with severe economic difficulties but the post-divorce adjustment was not much influenced by such economic difficulties. Supportive social network such as parents, brothers and sisters, friends, self-help group of single parents was related to the positive post-divorce adjustment. After divorce, some interviewees did not tend to meet their friends. All parents thought their children to be sources of support throughout the divorce process and their post-divorce life. On the other hand, some noncustodial parents felt guilty and a serious deprivation. Divorce initiator factor was not related to the post-divorce adjustment. To the most interviewees, the period before the decision to divorce was the most difficult one.

This research is to build the foundation of systematic application of color in cosmetology by analyzing color attributes in women's makeup presentation. The result were as follows. 1. The most popular color series in make up were R then RP and YR. The most popular color tone is 'd' and 'lt'. 2. Colors in make up according to age was as follows. For eye shadow, people aged 18 to 24 used 'lt' tone of the R color series; people aged 25 to 34 used 'lt', 's', 'sf tone of the R color series, 'lt' tone of the PB color series, 'lt' tone of the YR color series; people over 35 'g' tone of the YR color series, 'sf' tone of the P color series. For lipstick, people aged 18 to 24 used 'd' tone of the R color series; people aged 25 to 34 used 'd', 'sf' tone of the R color series; people over 35 used 'd' tone of the R color series. For lip-gloss, people aged 18 to 24 used 'v', 'lt', 'b', 's' tone of the R color series; people aged 25 to 34 used 's' 'd' 'dp' 'sf' tone of the R color series; people over 35 used 'b' tone of the R color series. 3. Make up colors according to marital status was as follows. For eye shadow, while married interviewees used 's', 'dk' tone of the R color series, single interviewees used 'lt', 'sf' tone of the R color series. For lipstick, while married interviewees used 'd', 'g' tone of the R color series, single interviewees preferred to use madder 'd', 'sf' tone of the R color series. For lip-gross, while married interviewees used 'd' tone of the R color series, single interviewees used 'b' tone of the R color series the most.
This study aims at investigating the adaptation process of the mothers of autistic children. A qualitative research method was adopted for this study: in-depth interviews were conducted using semi-structured questionnaires, then the transcribed interviews were analyzed to sort out patterns of adaptation and social support. Major results of the study are as follows: First the interviewees had common processes and patterns in their experiences and went through similar emotional and psychological processes. More specifically, most of the interviewees went through the stages of denial and isolation, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. However, the interviewees did not experience the stages in the exact sequence, as the stages sometimes would repeat, or would overlap one with another, Second, the data showed that many of the mothers of autistic children could not obtain the social support that they acutely needed Also, it was found that when adequate social support was provided, it relieved the stress of the interviewees, improved their adaptation, reduced the negative effects of crises or changes in the family, and further strengthened the solidarity of the family.
The study is to reveal what the married women has experienced while they were on the contraception. Data were gathered for four mothers beginning on October, 1996. Interviewees were 22 women. Data were analyzed by Colaizz's phenomenological data analysis method. Three basic structures of contraception experience were derived. Those are 'Conflict in choosing contraceptive methods', 'Dilemmar in sexual relationship', and 'Responsibility concerning contraception'. Contraception was a major task of the married women, and they difficulties, because sexual relation was usually initiated by husband and contraception by husband was negatively perceived in Korea culture. Conflict were caused by inavailability of information, side effects of contraceptive methods, and limitation of the contraceptive methods. Interviewees perceived that responsibility of contraception was on them, but they expressed feeling of anger against they burden by contraception. Most interviewees took initiation of contraception to keep their body healthy. Some of the interviewees got husband's cooperation through negotiation and shared responsibility with husband. Suggestions were as follows ; (1) Sex education, especially on communication about sex, is necessary to the married women. (2) Informations on contraception should be provided in the private environment. (3) Studies on husband's contraception experience are required to promote husband's cooperation.

The objective of this research is to find out the BRQ(Brand Relationship Quality) construct perceived by fashion product consumers. BRQ, Fournier suggested in 1994, examines the depth and intensity of the enduring association formed by the pattern of interactions enjoining consumers and brands. As BRQ was supposed to reflect consumers' psychological process, qualitative research and literature review were conducted together. For qualitative research, two kinds of interviews were carried out in October and November 2005 to investigate consumers' cognitive, affective, and behavioral insight towards brands. One of them was in-depth interview with six people in different life situation. The other was focus group interview. Interviewees were asked to explain about two types of questions: (1) the brand name which interviewees had bought and (2) the description of interviewees' feeling and thought for the brand which the interviewees had bought assuming the brand was the person. All interviews were recorded and analyzed. Finally, it was proved that fashion product consumers had various kinds of relationship with brands, and BRQ facets including 'love', 'self-connection', 'nostalgia', 'intimacy', 'trust', 'commitment', 'symbol', and 'mystery' were identified.
This study examined Korean young parents' current concept about diet and cancer to plan a proper communication strategy about nutrition education for cancer risk reduction. The naturalistic study using in-depth open ended interviews was conducted to identify Korean young parents' concepts about diet and cancer. Fourteen Korean husbands and wives were interviewed, All interviews were tape recorded and concept maps were developed from their tape-recordings for analysis. Most interviewees believed that certain kinds of food or diet increase or decrease cancer risk. However some interviewees did not believe that food or diet can prevent cancer. most interviewees believed that KIorean's salty and hot diet was related to the prevalence of stomach cancer,. They also believed that meat fresh smoked or cured processed food and excessive fat intake increase the risk for cancer but vegetables and fruits decrease it They believed that grilling and barbecuing increase cancer risk Some interviewees believed that certain nutrients (Zn. Se) and food(soybean paste mushroom garlic ginseng and so on) have cancer preventive effect. Most interviewees though twenties or early thirties are important ages for cancer preven-tion. Newspapers woman's magazines radio TV were the primary source of information on diet and cancer.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the structure of maternal experiences. This study applies ethnographic case study, interview data were collected through in-depth interviews of 10 key interviewees. Findings were as follows: (1) Experiences of the body were about creating a new being through the pain of giving a birth and differed according to woman's self-evaluation of identity. (2) Child-rearing experiences marked a shift of position from a child to a parent. Interviewees experienced the hardhsip of life as a mother, its meanings differed according to the social context of interviewees. Child-rearing experiences meant a process of personal maturity. (3) Mother-child relationship shaped by child-rearing experiences, is a process of building meanings. It led to empathy and reinterpretation of her mother's life.
The aim of this study is having the status, knowledge and attitude of the high school attendees toward smoking be analyzed, helping to make effective health education methods to diminish adolescent smoking habits. The field self-questionnaire investigation has been performed from Oct 10th through 23rd in 1999. The whole 427 cases were distributed to 1st and 2nd grade students of randomly selected men's high school in Seoul. And 414 cases (97%) were finally selected for analysis after exclusion of cases with insufficient information. The main contents of questionnaire are composed of several sectors; the general characteristics of the interviewees, the relationship with parents, the life style and the peer relationship in school. And smoking-related characteristics are taken into consideration, too. The major findings of the study are as follows: The smoking/non-smoking related factors are, in socio-demographical terms, the grade, average spending per month of the interviewees. And the degree of satisfactory relationship with parents is significant on smoking behavior. The higher, the degree of satisfaction on school life and relationship with designated teacher, the more chances of non-smoking habit. Poor academic grades and peer group dependability of interviewees cause higher smoking habit rate in other way. The self-interviewees grade and cohabitation with parents are also significant on both the attitude toward smoking habit and the knowledge on smoking statistically. The academic history and vocations of the parents and the academic grades of interviewees are also effective variables, but don't make any gap between groups knowledge on smoking. Smoking groups used to have positive attitude toward smoking habit. Both the attitude and knowledge on smoking by the consideration of Quit-smoking have statistically significance. The groups which have negative attitude and high knowledge on smoking quit-smoking into consideration. And the primary cause of quit-smoking is on health by smoking. Depression, stress, adult smoking in the house, peer group pressure, cigarettes advertisements on papers and magazines and smoking scenes on TV have positive correlation on forming smoking habit (p〈0.001) But the knowledge on diseases triggered by smoking has negative correlation on forming smoking habit. (p〈0.05, p〈0.001). Social factors as monthly spending, relationship and communication with parents, the degree of satisfaction in school life, academic grades and student-teacher relationship have crucial negative correlation on smoking habit. That is to say, the higher, the monthly spending is, the worse, the relationship with parents and teachers is, the lower, the academic grades of the student is, the percentage of the interviewees who have smoking habit seems to get higher.
