  • This paper deals with a evaluation algorithm of interruption cost in distribution systems in the case where Dispersed Storage and Generation (DSG) systems are interconnected with the distribution systems. If DSG systems are operated as the function of the load levelling in distribution systems at the normal conditions and as the uninterruptible power supply in fault areas at the emergency conditions, the reliability improvement of the distribution systems can be expected. In other words, the benefit can be represented by the cost avoiding interruption according to the operation of DSG systems when a fault is occurred. Therefore, this paper presents the evaluation algorithm for interruption cost in order to evaluate the benefit for the uninterruptible power supply of DSG systems in a quantitative manner.

  • The main factors to bring out the power failure are trouble and operation power failure, the operation power failure of these includes about 85%. So, it is required that the without interruption of service method reduce the operation power failure. If we develop the without interruption of service method, the operation power failure will reduce greatly. It is necessary to develop the without interruption of service method which it solve various trobles (dissatisfacting solution of customer, sales revenue augmentation, and the reduction of the power failure negotiation work). The results of study are drawing up of the specification for temporary transmission methods, it of the working methods for them, and the scrutiny of the technology contents for them.

  • This study was aimed to verify the stable interruption characteristics between power collector and 3rd rail type conductor rail for the Korean-standardized rubber-tired AGT light rail vehicle. At the test track for the Korean-standardized rubber-tired AGT light rail vehicle, interruption ratios, stresses, vibrations, and contact force variations were measured by test conditions, having various train speed. As the results, it was verified that developed 3rd rail type conductor maintains interruption characteristics, which can supply stable electric power.

  • The insulation strength between contacts after current interruption to the transient recovery voltage i.e., the dielectric recovery strength should be estimated for the evaluation of the small capacitive current interruption capability. Many authors have used theoretical and semi-experimental approaches to evaluate the transient breakdown voltage after the current interruption. Moreover, an empirical equation, which is obtained from a series of tests, has been used to estimated the dielectric recovery strength. Un this paper, the theoretical method which is generated from the streamer theory has been applied to real circuit breakers in order to evaluated the interruption capability. The results of analysis have been compared with the test results and the reliability has been investigated.

  • This paper describes the development of a high-performance single-phase line-interactive Dynamic voltage Restorer, which is composed of an H-bridge inverter and super-capacitors. The operational feasibility was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software, and experimental works with 3kVA prototype. The developed system can compensates the input voltage sag and interruption within 2ms, in which the maximum allowable duration of voltage interruption is 1.5 seconds. It can be effectively used to compensate the voltage interruption in the sensitive load, such as computer, communication equipment, automation equipment, and medical equipment. The developed system has a simple structure to be easily implemented with commercially available components and to be highly reliable in operation.

  • This paper describes the development of a three-phase line-interactive dynamic voltage restorer with hybrid detection method, which is composed of three H-bridge inverter modules and super-capacitors.   • To analyze the small current interruption performance for the gas circuit breakers, the gas density and electric field intensity should be calculated. In this paper, the FVFLIC method is used for the gas flow analysis and the FEM for the electric field analysis. Then, the dielectric withstanding voltage is evaluated by the empirical formulation or Streamer theory. By comparing the calculated dielectric strength with the test result, it is found that both methods show good prediction capability for the small current interruption performance. Especially, when both methods predict the same interrupting performance, the prediction is in accordance with the experimental result.

  • Development of DC interruption technology is being studied actively for enhanced DC grid reliability and stability. In this study, coil type superconductor DC circuit breaker was proposed as DC interruption. It is integration technology that combined current-limiting technique using superconductor and cut-off technique using mechanical DC circuit breaker. Superconductor was applied to the coil type. In simulation, Mayr arc model was applied to realize the arc characteristic in the mechanical DC circuit breaker. PSCAD/EMTDC had used to model and perform the simulation. To find out the protection range of coil type superconductor DCCB, the working operation have analyzed based on the rated voltage of DCCB. The results confirmed that, according to apply the limiting device, the protection range was increased in twice. Therefore, the probability of failure of interruption has lowered significantly.

3G LTE 시스템을 위한 끊김없는 음성 호 핸드오버 방법 (A Seamless Voice Call Handover Scheme for the 3G LTE System)

  • 차세대 이동통신망 시스템인 3G LTE 시스템의 원활한 보급을 위해서는 기존의 3세대 이동통신망과의 핸드오버가 제공되어야 한다. 특히 음성서비스의 경우 핸드오버로 인한 서비스의 끊김은 사용자가 실제로 느끼는 서비스의 품질에 있어서 매우 민감한 부분으로 끊김없는 핸드오버 방법의 개발이 반드시 필요하다. 그러나 3G LTE망과 3G CS망 사이에서의 핸드오버의 경우 두 망 사이의 연동이 불가능하며 라디오 자원사용의 제약으로 인해 기존의 방법으로는 끊김없는 핸드오버를 제공하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 SCSE라는 새로운 entity를 제안하여 3G LTE망과 3G CS망 사이의 연동을 가능하게 하였으며 SCSE의 기능을 이용하여 핸드오버 과정을 간략히 하여 service interruption time을 최소화 할 수 있는 핸드오버 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 분석을 통한 성능을 평가 하였으며 결론적으로 제안된 SCSE 방법만이 사용자에게 끊김없는 음성 서비스를 제공하기 위한 요구 조건인 300 ms 이하의 service interruption time을 만족 시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 미생물연료전지는 미생물이 유기물을 분해하면서 전기를 발생시킨다. 미생물연료전지는 여러 분야로 응용이 가능하며 현재 생산되는 전력이 낮기 때문에 상용화가 되기 위해서는 미생물연료전지(MFC)의 전력을 증진시키는 방안 연구가 필요하다. 미생물연료전지(MFC)의 전력을 증진시키기 위해서는 산화, 환원전극에서의 활성화전압손실(Activation losses)과 저항전압손실(Ohmic losses)을 줄여야 하며 활성화전압손실과 저항전압손실의 정확한 측정과 이를 줄이기 위한 인자를 찾는 것이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 H형태의 미생물연료전지(Microbial Fuel Cell, MFC)에서 전류차단법(Current interruption)을 이용하여 산화전극 및 환원전극에서의 활성화 전압손실과 저항전압손실을 측정하였다. H형태의 미생물연료전지에서 백금이 코팅된 전극(0.5 $mg/cm^2$; 10% Pt)을 환원전극으로 이용하였음에도 환원전극 전압손실이 산화전극 전압손실보다 4배 가량 큼을 알 수 있었다. 전류차단법(Current interruption)에 의하여 구한 저항전압손실 값(1146 ${\Omega}$) 과 impedance에 의하여 구한 내부저항(1167 ${\Omega}$)은 거의 일치하였다. 또한 산화, 환원전극 활성화 전압손실의 합은 전지(cell)의 활성화 전압손실과 일치하였다.
