Thirdly Job Satisfaction, consisted of 2 sub-variables of economical satisfaction and self-efficacy, affects Innovative Behavior positively. Lastly Organizational Trust has mediating effect on the relationship between Job Satisfaction and Innovative Behavior. However, while the direct effect of Job Satisfaction on Innovative Behavior shows 69%, the indirect effect of Organizational Trust on Innovative Behavior shows 31%, which may not be ignorable. Furthermore in case of smaller organization with less than 30 members, the indirect effect of Organizational Trust shows 64%, comparing to 36% of direct effect of Job Satisfaction. This study was able to confirm that organizations need to maintain Organizational Trust as much as they strive to increase Job Satisfaction through securing Organizational Justice and Shared Values in order to effectively increase Innovative Behavior. For small organizations with less than 30 members, they can never achieve Innovative Behavior without Organizational Trust. Conclusively it is acknowledged that Organizational Trust is the most important prior condition for innovation and long-term survival of SME ventures.

  • This article sheds light on how corporate social responsibility (CSR) perception influences organizational commitment through compassion, a mediator based on empirical data. In other words, we expect that CSR is related to team members' sense-making and then triggers changes affecting team members' attitude and behavior. Compassion plays a pivotal role in organizational life by attenuating others' pains at work. Scholars widely agree that compassion involves sympathetic consciousness of others' distress and sufferings, and caring for those others often in communicative or behavioral ways. Kornfield (1993) defines compassion as "the heart's response to the sorrow". We also define compassion as a response to other's suffering that an individual sees with the eyes of others, hears with the ears of others, feels with the heart of others, and takes actions that demonstrate his or her own compassionate acts. We also assume that CSR increases organizational commitment. According to our empirical data based on employees of 400 Korean companies, CSR perception is likely to positively influence compassion, which itself is likely to influence another dependent variable, organizational commitment. Our findings reveal a partially mediated effect, which causes CSR perception to influence organizational commitment through compassion. Finally, interpersonal justice serves as moderating elements in the relation of CSR perception and compassion whereas perceived organizational behavior has a moderating effect on both compassion and organizational commitment.

Methods From March 9, to July 1, 2012, face-to-face and mail surveys were conducted targeting the 325 participants (256 specialists and 69 residents) who are registered members of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. The proportion of each response given to an item was obtained through statistical processing through frequency analysis. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the differences in the responses between the resident group and the specialist group. Results The survey results on the perception of professionalism in plastic surgery showed that a high proportion (90.5%) of the respondents viewed the future of plastic surgeons as bright. Through evaluation of the importance of the value items,"professional dominance" (4.58 pts), "autonomy" (4.45 pts), "lifestyle" (4.34 pts), and "commercialism" (4.31 pts) were assessed as critical values. "Altruism" (3.84 pts), "interpersonal competence" (3.79 pts), and "social justice" (3.61 pts) were viewed as lesser values. This difference showed the characteristics of an entrepreneurial outlook. Conclusions Plastic surgeons should pursue excellence, humanism, accountability, and altruism in order to overcome the crisis of professionalism in plastic surgery.
