A developement of Remote Monitoring & Control System using SNMP for UPS (SNMP를 이용한 UPS 원격 감시 제어 시스템)

  • In this paper a remote monitoring and control system using SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) for UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems is proposed. The local remote system by RS-232 or RS-485 communication code or the wide remote system by modems is used for conventional remote monitoring & control system for UPSs. But recently because of communication cost and long distance the system is changed to remote control systems through internet and information communication network. And serial communication method by RS-232 or RS-485 is used between agent and UPSs. In this study. we designed and developed the system which is able to control UPSs and to monitor errors. statuses and actual values transmitted from UPS through internet.

  • The decentralized and open characteristic of the internet, along with the mobility and portability of mobile communication, and the interactivity of the internet and mobile communications all have been grafted to enable the creation of wireless internet in our lives, bringing about a lot of change. However, existing system management software solutions show limitations in time and space, as well as problems such as uncertain error messages, and also difficulty providing swift assistance or real time emergency support. Therefore, a wireless remote control system has been designed and implemented in this thesis, which is capable of managing and monitoring remote systems using mobile communication devices (Mobile Phone, PDA, Smart Phone, Webpad) for realtime control. The implemented real time wireless remote control system provides remote server management functions, error or event message functions, log record functions, authentication function via mobile devices and system performance evaluation function classified by client transaction.

  • Automated manufacturing systems are applied to shop floors as a tool for the increase of productivity and quality and the decrease of manufacturing lead times and industry accidents. One of the most important issue of the present day is the application of Internet. The development of Internet technologies makes manufacturing enterprises break spacial barriers between users and shop floors, and collect various field data in remote sites. In this research, an Internet-based remote control system for a small-sized automated storage and retrieval system is developed for the purpose of real-time monitoring and control of automatic production equipment. The developed system has a client-server architecture and transmits real-time images of the automated storage and retrieval system to a client by ar CCD camera connected to a server. Based on the transmitted images, the client sends commands to PLC of the server, and part storage and retrieval tasks are executed.

  • A remote image transmission apparatus combines robot technology and image transmission there is safe problem or place that a person can not go. Recently, control apparatus that use wire and RF between web server and robot for remote control are developed. But, there is problem that must install Internet line and communication distance. Transmission distance problem can solve when using the equipment of RF, but price of RF router is problem that is very high cost. In this paper, we developed remote control system using the cellular phone communication network that can control image transmission and image transmission apparatus to solve these problem. Developed system could solve defects of methods that use existent RF and internet. And could transmit the most suitable image and voice under limited condition include current communication network.

  • Based on the rapid development of IT technology and deployment of the Internet through high speed networks, network environments have been changed from office oriented environment based on business industries and public institution even to the interconnection to digital electronics in the home network. Home network based applications are very diverse and the remote monitoring and control areas have been studied. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of real time remote video monitoring system which provide the moving pictures on the web page through the Internet using JMFI. In addition, we present the design of remote light control system based on Zigbee.

  • Intelligent Wearable Module is intelligent system that arises when a human is part of the feedback loop of a computational process like a certain control system. Applied system is mobile robot. This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by Intelligent Wearable Module. So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by Intelligent Wearable Module. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. Tlle information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

Because of the network congestion and the associated delays, the real-time image feedback is generally difficult in the public networks like internet. If the remote user is not able to receive the image feedback within a certain time, the work performance may tend to decrease, and it makes difficulties to control of the telerobotics equipment.
