The Korea Internet AS-level topology was constructed using three data sources: Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) trace collector, Internet Routing Registry (IRR), and Internet Exchange Point (IXP). It has 685 nodes and 1,428 links. The Korea Internet AS-level topology is a small regional subgraph of the massive global one. We investigate how well the Korea Internet preserves the topological characteristics of the global one or how different they are. We carefully select several topology metrics that can analyze the characteristics of the Korea Internet AS-level topology. We also investigate how well Internet topology generators can represent the characteristics of the Korea Internet AS-level topology.
The explosive growth in wireless networks and Internet services has created considerable demand for mobile Internet services based on the mobile phone. Mobile Internet has become the new business model in telecommunication market, therefore the open network policy for mobile Internet has been formulated and implemented by the government in Korea. In spite of the open network policy for mobile Internet, there has been no systematic analysis of the various interconnection issues, including pricing, in mobile Internet network. This paper aims to suggest the interconnection pricing methods for mobile Internet network by reviewing the current pricing models for various communications services, and adapting them to mobile Internet communications circumstances. Results of this paper can be used as a guideline for government policy directions and management decision making after the introduction of the open network policy for mobile Internet.

Recently, Internet Telephony has become increasingly popular in telecommunication industry. However, previous research on Internet Telephony has focused on analyzing specific Internet Telephonysolutions, identifyingthe Internet Telephony movement itself. The research on prediction models about Internet Telephony adoption has been minimal. The main propose of this study is to develop models for predicting transition intention from using traditional telephones to using Internet Telephony. To do so, this study uses data mining methods to analyze demands in the IT communications market and to provide management strategies for Internet telephony providers. Especially this study uses discriminant analysis, logistic regression, classification tree, and neural nets to develop those prediction models toward Internet Telephony adoption. The models are compared with each other and a superior model is chosen.

Fast spreading Internet worms, such as Code Red and Slammer, have become one of the new major throne of the Internet recently. In order to defend against theses worms, it is essential to understand how Internet worms propagate and how different Internet factors affect worm spreading. In this paper, we intend to describe the spread of worms on Internet environments accurately. Therefore we model and analyze the spreading effects by various simulations considering Internet addressing and speed. The results lead to a better prediction of the worm spreading on current and future Internet environments.
This study is an attempt to provide some answers to question about how characteristics and general recognition regarding internet use in Korea and Japan influence fostering and maintaining on-line social network in each of countries. Survey is used to compare Korean internet users and Japanese internet users in terms of characteristics of on-line social network, individual's propensity for internet use, including their recognition on internet. The study's main findings go as follows. First, Korean internet users tend to be more active in using internet than Japanese internet users do, thus having larger on-line social network and more intensive internet use than Japanese internet users do. However, there is a commonality that majority of internet users in both countries use internet to connect them to person with whom they have private relationship but they cannot meet frequently. Second, for Korean internet users, individual's propensity, characteristics, and recognition regarding internet use is not related to how to contact others. To the contrary, for Japanese internet users, how to contact others in on-line setting seems to vary according to whether or not they have relation-oriented internet use and how they recognize the availability of internet. Third, a commonality regarding the size of on-line social network is found between Korea and Japan that the total numbers of people enrolled as network increases if people use internet in order to get information. This confirms previous finding that relationship based on weak tie is instrumental in fostering on-line social relations and likely produces advantage in getting information. Finally, for Japanese internet users, the degree of risk recognized in on-line setting, that is the degree of interpersonal trust, appears to greatly influence overall relationship -building in on-line.

The internet which is fast spread over all areas of our lives provides us with benefits of efficiency, productivity, and amusement; however, its features as an anonymous and non-face-to-face medium have raised a serious social issue of the collapse of internet ethics due to the abuse of it. Thereupon, the importance of internet ethics education has been highlighted to prevent side effects resulted from the internet and cultivate human-centered internet culture. In this paper, we suggests desirable methods for internet ethics education based on the investigation and analysis of the status of university freshmen's internet ethics. This research conducted a survey and analyzed its result after categorizing the status of internet ethics into the invasion of private information, invasion of intellectual property rights, harmful information, internet communication culture, cyber violence, internet addiction, and internet fraud. And based on the result of analyzing their internet ethics, this paper suggests desirable methods for internet ethics education. Next, internet ethics education was conducted by applying the proposed methods for internet ethics education, and its educational effect was evaluated. According to the result of verifying the educational effect measured statistically, it has proved that the suggested internet ethics education is effective to improve undergraduates' internet ethics.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an integrated internet addiction prevention program and test its effects on the self-regulation and internet addiction of elementary students who are at risk for internet addiction. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. Participants were assigned to the experimental group (n=28) or control group (n=28). Contents of the program developed in this study included provision of information about internet addiction, interventions for empowerment and methods of behavioral modification. A pre-test and two post-tests were done to identify the effects of the program and their continuity. Effects were testified using Repeated measures ANOVA, simple effect analysis, and Time Contrast. Results: The self-regulation of the experimental group after the program was significantly higher than the control group. The score for internet addiction self-diagnosis and the internet use time in the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group. Conclusion: The effects of the integrated internet addiction prevention program for preventing internet addiction in elementary students at risk for internet addiction were validated.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of high school students' internet addiction on their health status. Methods: The subjects of the present study were 237 high school students in KyongBuk province. Self-reporting questionnaire survey was conducted during the period from September to October 2009. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS PC+14.0 through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: With regard to internet addiction, 33.9% is at the early stage of internet addiction and 2.1% is severely addicted to internet. Health status was poorer in female, students with low economic status, less attention to children's health by parents, neglecting their children's internet use, single-parent, and severely addicted to internet. Factors significantly influencing on the health status included gender, internet addiction, parent's attitude about internet using time, interest in their children's health, economic status and internet using time ($R^2$=25.8%). Conclusion: The education program for preventing internet addiction considering these affecting factors is necessary.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of problem of internet usage and the willingness to receive internet education among adolescents on Jeju Island, who are core internet users, and the related variables. The survey was administered to 566 students from elementary and middle schools on Jeju. The data were analyzed by T-test, ANOVA analysis, DMR test and logistic regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the adolescents perceived the conflict with family due to the problem of internet usage. Taken as a whole, the perception of a problem due to internet usage was low. Second, the internet-related variables were very important to the perception level of the problem in that there was a significant difference in all sub-spheres according to the internet usage time. Also, the personal-related variables such as gender, age, and personal expenses had a meaningful difference on the perception level of problem. Third, adolescents' willingness to receive internet education was considerably high. The personal-related variables such as gender and school record had a meaningful influence on the willingness of the internet education.
