주행 차량의 로드 노이즈 예측을 위한 각 입력원의 기여도 평가 (Transfer Path Analysis and Estimation of the Road Noise for the Driving Vehicle)

  • The reduction of the vehicle interior noise has been the main interest of noise and vibration harshness(NVH) engineers. A passenger vehicle has various and complicated transmission paths of sound and vibration. In order to identify the mechanism of transfer path, estimation of excitation force and exact modeling of transfer path are required. This paper presents method for estimating the noise source contribution on the road noise of the vehicle in a multiple input system where the input sources may be coherent with each other. And vector synthesis technique is employed to identify the characteristics of road noise and its transmission to vehicle compartment through noise and vibration analysis. Vibration reduction efficiency of each transfer path is evaluated by comparing individual vector components obtained virtual simulation.

구동축과 연관된 차량의 부밍 소음 저감을 위한 중공축 개발 기법 (Development Technique of Tubular Shaft for Reduction of Booming Noise in Vehicle Interior Caused by Drive Shaft)

  • In order to reduce the booming noise caused by first bending mode of drive shaft, this paper proposes a simulation program for prediction of the bending mode frequency of any tubular shaft. This program consists of a pre-processor for modeling of geometrical shape of drive shaft and applying the boundary conditions of various joints, a processor for constructing of global finite element matrices using beam elements and an eigen-solver based on MATLAB program. Using this simulation program, the effective and accurate FE model for a shaft attached in vehicle can be obtained by aid of database for stiffness of each joint. Thus the resonance frequencies and mode shapes of a shaft can be calculated accurately. Because the effect of the resonance on interior noise can be verified, more improved shaft can be proposed at the early stage of design.

  • The noise . vibration characteristics of Hypoid gears which were made from three seperate materials(SCM, TSCM, SNCM) under the identical process were investigated for the sake of durability improvement of differential gear compatible with low level noise gear set. For this study, we developed a rig experimental equipment which can perform close noise.vibration experiment of differential gear. Consequently, we could analyze the noise.vibration characteristics of final reduction gear by materials, and also we observed changes in both metallic structure and hardness according to the materials of pinion gear. In addition to this, the correlation between the vibration of the differential gear and the interior noise of the passenger vehicles was proved by analyzing the results of rig vibration experiment and field noise test.

  • This paper introduces the process of reducing the automobile wind noise by using acoustic holography. First, a microphone array scans a side or plane under an automible step-by-step. Second, a pressure on a source plane is calculated. Third process is to analyze how much individual sources contribute to interior noise. Fourth process is to control important noise sources determined by the contribution analysis. This paper deals with the entire process, theoretical and experimental problems.

  • The noise reduction is important one of considerations in the process of a civil aircraft development program. External noise sources are classified into an air-born source and a structure-born source. Among these noise sources, the most affected noise source into a cabin is the air-born noise source from an engine or propeller. The external noise is transmitted into the cabin through the fuselage structure of airplane which are composed of an fuselage structure, an interior trim panel and an acoustic insulation layer between an fuselage structure and an interior trim panel. Therefore, appropriate fuselage structure and acoustic insulation layer is very important to reduce the internal noise level. In this paper, the vibro-acoustic coupled analysis of the cabin noise of the 80~90 seats regional turboprop aircraft is carried out to validate the acoustic analysis method using Direct BEM and FEM. The sound pressure level onto the fuselage skin is acquired by fan-source noise analysis using BEM, and which sound pressure is used as acoustic noise source in vibro-acoustic noise analysis for cabin noise analysis using FEM.

  • In resent years, engineering thermoplastics represent a means for designers to integrate parts, facilitate assembly, reduce weight and lower the costs of their parts to improve the fuel efficiency and competitiveness of the cars. Thermoplastic turbo charger intake hose is one of most sophisticated application in thermoplastics under the hood. Used as part of weight & cost reduction and performance improvement program, thermoplastic turbo charger intake hose has been developed as rubber and metal replacement. For optimized product, NVH performance is a important criteria while keeping same durability required with current system. Though a number of studies have been conducted on the resonator hose and its analytical models, the most of studies were focused on transmission loss itself. This paper presents contribution of vehicle interior noise according to design parameters like profile, bellows type, bellows position, material characteristic. And we will review the design guidance for optimized product of thermoplastic turbo charger intake hose.

  • The Substructure Synthesis means the technology to predict the dynamic properties of an assembly from the properties of its components, or to predict the effect of a modification on a structure. The FRF Based Substructuring method is a kind of the Substructure Synthesis and very useful to predict the efficiency of the product in the early stage of development. Especially, the Hybrid FBS method is very useful to predict the vehicle NVH characteristics after modifying some components of the vehicle. Target components can be established on the basis of test models and FE models of the prototype constructed in the early stage of development. In this study, the Hybrid FBS method was applied to vehicle subframe and car-body in order to reduce vehicle interior noise induced by engine exciting force.

유한 두께 창문 모델을 적용한 능동 소음제어 창문 (Active Window system based on Finite Thickness Window Model)

  • Active window system which can reduce the environmental noises, such as traffic noise and construction noise, from an open window into a room was proposed in the previous works. The key idea of the proposed active window system was that the control sources are approximately collocated with the primary noise source in terms of the acoustic power for global noise reduction throughout the interior room. Moreover, because it is important not to intrude into the living space in the building environment, no error sensors were used and an open-loop control method using control sources at the window frame and the reference sensors outside the room was used for the proposed system. The open-loop control gain was calculated by the interior room model assumed as the semi-infinite space, and the interior sound field was estimated by Rayleigh integral equation under the baffled window model assumption. However, windows with a finite thickness should were considered for the calculation of the open-loop control gain of the active window system since these are representative of most window cases. Therefore, the finite thickness window model based on the Sgard's model was derived and the open-loop control gain using the interior sound field estimated by that model was calculated for active window system. To compare the performance of these two models, a scale-model experiment was performed in an anechoic chamber according to noise source directions. Experimental results showed that the performance for the thickness window model is better than the baffled window model as the angle with respect to the perpendicular direction is larger.

  • The object of this study is to investigate the effect of elastic wheel from the viewpoint of noise and vibration of railway vehicle. The vibration reduction was predicted from the FRF difference between elastic wheel and solid wheel by FEM simulation. The elastic wheel and solid wheel were compared in viewpoint of carbody vibration and car interior noise level. The effect of elastic wheel on the noise and vibration of subway vehicle was obtained. But, the application of elastic wheel must be reviewed in some aspect.
