The number of visually-impaired people using a smartphone is currently increasing with the help Text-to-Speech(TTS). TTS converts text data in a mobile application into sound data, and it only allows sequential search. For this reason, the location of buttons and contents inside an application should be determined carefully. However, little attention has been made on TTS service environment during the development of mobile newspaper application. This makes visually-impaired people difficult to use these applications. Furthermore, a mobile application interface which also reflects the desire of the low vision is necessary. Therefore, this paper presents a mobile newspaper interface which considers the accessibility and the desire of various visually impaired people. To this end, the proposed interface locates buttons with the consideration of TTS service environment and provides search functionality. The proposed interface also enables visually impaired people to use the application smoothly by filtering out the words that are pronounced improperly and providing the proper explanation for every button. Finally, several functionalities such as increasing font size and color reversal are implemented for the low vision. Simulation results show that the proposed interface achieves better performance than other applications in terms of search speed and usability.
We implement the RFID middleware system based on XML for large-scale data processing. The Implemented middleware system are consist of the reader interface for tag data collection, the event manager for a data filtering, and application interface for the RFID application. The implemented RFID middleware system is to support both a fixed type's reader and portable type's reader. we analyze the middleware function with four application accessing protocol, HTTP, XML, JMS, and SOAP, and demonstrate a filtering speed in terms of CPU utilization.

Interfaces comprising menu and icons of web-based application programs should comply pertinently with user's cognitive system. In Particular, since the application Program's specific function in this study aimed at the purpose of child's effective idea, with respect to that, it is necessary to constitute a rational web use environment through careful research and analysis of user interface. The purpose of this study was to enhance elementary students to modify the CGTS with the menu arrangement. icon types and preferable terms for their use of professionally letter-based screen structure of CGTS developed to help the designer's idea.

The primary objective of this paper is to introduce the application of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and Augmented Reality (AR) technologies in flight operations. These include: self-check-in, baggage handling, airport security and surveillance, airport operations monitoring, In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC), cockpit design, and cabin crew support. This paper investigates the application status and development trends of HMI and AR technologies for airports and aircraft. These technologies can provide more efficient in-flight passenger service and experience by using AR devices. This paper also discusses the developments such as; the Integrated Control Application (ICA) for the IFEC interface, AR flight simulation training program using the fixed-based simulator, and the AR aircraft cabin interior concept test program. These applications present how HMI and AR techniques can be utilized in actual flight operations. The developed programs in this paper can be applied to their purpose within aircraft interiors and services to enhance efficiency, comfort, and experience.

PURPOSES : This study focuses on the evaluation of interface performance with varying surface texture and tack coat application in an asphalt overlay. METHODS : The evaluation is carried out in two phases: tracking test and interface bond strength test. Using an image processing tool, tracking test is conducted to evaluate the susceptibility of the tack coat material to produce excessive tracking during application. Using the pull-off test method, the bond strength test is performed to determine the ability of the interface layer to resist failure. RESULTS : Results show that the underseal application yields less tracking compared to other applications. However, the bond strength is barely within the minimum acceptable value. On the other hand, RSC-4 produces higher bond strength for all surface types, but the drying time is long, which produces excessive tracking. CONCLUSIONS : While underseal application may be suitable for a trackless condition, the bond strength is less appealing compared to the rest of the tack applications available. RSC-4 demonstrated a high and consistent bond strength performance, but more time is required for drying to avoid excessive tracking. Tack coat application and surface type combination produce varying results. Therefore, these should be considered when selecting suitable future tack coat application options.
Since affective computing has been introduced in 90s, affect recognition technology has achieved substantial progress recently. However, the application of user emotion recognition into software user interface is in its early stages. In this paper, we describe a new approach for developing mobile user interface which could react differently depending on user emotion states. First, an emotion reaction model is presented which determines user interface reactions for each emotional state. We introduce a pair of mappings from user states to different user interface versions. The reacting versions are implemented by a set of variations for a view. Further, we present an authoring framework to help developers/designers to create emotion-aware reactions based on the proposed emotion reaction model. The authoring framework is necessary to alleviate the burden of creating and handling multi versions for views at the development process. A prototype implementation is presented as an extension of the existing authoring tool DAT4UX. Moreover, a proof-of-concept application featuring an emotion-aware interface is developed using the tool.
In this paper, we defined agent interface standard and messages for the control and management of agent. Agent interface is defined by messages exchanged between each component of the agent system environment, such as agent, agent system that creates and controls the agent, client that requests the service, agent master that mediates the service, agent manager that performs management functions of the agent. Agent interface is defined after the MAF of the OMG and the agent standard of the FIPA. Experiments are done for the application using agent interface and messages of this paper. The test network was the content distribution network using agent service, and we controled and managed the test network through the agent interface.
Many hardware-based regular expression matching architectures have been proposed for high-performance matching. In particular, regular expression processors, which perform pattern matching by treating the regular expressions as the instruction sequence like general purpose processors, have been proposed. After instruction sequence and data are provided in the instruction memory and data memory, respectively, a regular expression processor can perform pattern matching. To use a regular expression processor as a coprocessor, we need the host interface to transfer the instruction and data into the memory of a regular expression processor. In this paper, we design and implement the host interface between a host and a regular expression processor in the DE1-SoC board and the application program interface. We verify the operations of the host interface and a regular expression processor by executing the application programs which perform pattern matching using the application program interface.

This paper shows the GUI-sharing mechanism based on GDI hooking that can be useful for group users to ,share application programs dedicated to specific systems in distributed environments. In order to implement a networked-group working for real-time bases, an application-sharing mechanism should be necessary. This paper presents the implementation issues of application-sharing mechanism and provides a way of group working by implementation of GDI hooking module using GDI library in Windows 95 environment.
