Optimal Gain Design Method of the 3 Phase Boost Converter (3상 부스트 컨버터의 제어기 최적 이득 설계 기법)

  • The optimal gain design method of a three-phase boost converter is proposed in this study. The control system has a two-loop configuration, in which each controller is coupled closely; thus, the optimal design is difficult to achieve using conventional gain-tuning method. The proposed method is adopted to the MATLAB SISO TOOL software and is based on the controller requirements, which are phase margin and cut-off frequency of the open-loop system. The optimal proportional -integral gains can be designed easily using the proposed interactive method of the SISO TOOL. The performance of the proposed system is verified through simulation and experiments.

  • In this paper, to solve the defect of stand-alone type power system in a remote area, a hybrid power system with photovoltaic/wind/diesel generators is proposed. A hybrid power system has a power-balanced controller to equilibrate generation power with a given load demand and which is composed of common DC power system. To execute a power-balanced control, a hybrid power system is assumed that all of power generators have the characteristics of an equivalent current-source and load sharing control technique must be needed at the same time. So this paper describes the algorithm of interactive technique for design of a hybrid power system.

  • This article describes a prototype expert system for yarn spinning process planning in textile industry. This expert system is intended as a consultant to give the technicians interactive assistance for the appropriate process planning in accordance with used materials, required count, and other factors affected yarn spinning by means of many types of machine. Also, this system has the other function that can be compared the standard values with the measured ones for quality characteristics control. VP-EXPERT-a rule-based microcomputer expert system development tool-provides the expert system components for this development. The details of knowledge organization, rule representation, inference reasoning process, and performance of this expert system are demonstrated with the practical yarn spinning operations.

  • Hand gesture recognition has been widely used in virtual reality and HCI (Human-Computer-Interaction) system, which is challenging and interesting subject in the vision based area. The existing approaches for vision-driven interactive user interfaces resort to technologies such as head tracking, face and facial expression recognition, eye tracking and gesture recognition. The purpose of this paper is to combine the finite state machine (FSM) and the gesture recognition method, in other to control Windows Media Player, such as: play/pause, next, pervious, and volume up/down.

  • Today multimedia technologies are playing an increasingly important role in games, movies, and live performances. In this paper, we design a flexible interactive system integrated with gesture recognition, skeleton tracking, internet communication, and content edition using multi-sensors to direct and control the performance on stage. In this system, the performer can control the elements showed on stage through corresponding gestures and body movements during the performance. The system provides an easier way for users to change the content of the performance if they intent to do.

  • Recently KAERI has developed the severe accident management guidance to establish Korea standard severe accident management system. On the other hand the PC-based severe accident training simulator SATS has been developed, and the MELCOR code is used as the simulation engine. SATS graphically displays and simulates the severe accidents with interactive user commands. The control capability of SATS could make a severe accident training course more interesting and effective. In this paper the development and functions of the electrical hypertext guidance module HyperKAMG and the SATS-HyperKAMG linkage system for the severe accident management are described.

Effect of Core Strengthening Exercise Programs on Symmetric Double Limb Support and Balance Ability for the Elderly

  • The purpose of this study effectiveness of core strengthening exercise programs on symmetric double limb support and balance ability for elderly. The subjects that 30 persons between the ages of 65~80 elderly participated were divided into two groups randomly for 8 weeks. Tetrax interactive balance system and Berg's balance scale were used to assess support and stability. Paired t-tests were used to evaluate the changes before and after intervention. The difference between the groups was compared using an independent t-test. The experimental group showed significantly increase weight support, stability, balance(p<.05). However, the control group not showed significantly increase weight support, stability, balance(p>.05). In a variation, experimental and control groups showed significantly increased rate of weight support, stability, balance(p<.05). Consequently, core strengthening exercise program should be considered as a therapeutic method for the elderly to improve the balance ability and effectiveness on falls.

  • A new paradigm of technology, based on the overall interactions of technology, human and environment, is explored. History of technology and machines is reviewed in terms of the interactions of human and machines. Two main concepts of intelligent interactions proposed, holism and embodiment, are based on the interactions of machines and human through human body : Korperlichkeit ( corporeality). Human body movements are the result of long periods of evolution and, thus, are very optimized motions. Complicated and flexible motions could be easily achieved by mimicking human body movements. Motion capture and mimic systems based on the electromagnetic, visual, and gyroscopic type trackers, are being implemented to demonstrate these concepts. Also, various motion mappings are investigated on these interactive systems. By exploring a new paradigm of technology through Korperlichkeit, an oriental view of technology as relativities may evolve to embrace the limitations of western view of machines as an absolute independent form.

  • This paper proposed two mechanisms of fixed method and new arrival method. They are all interactive meachanisms in that a SCP and the SSPs exchange load information for overload control. These mechanisms using simple algorithm based on the standard ACG, apply differenct call gapping time on each SSP under the fairness scheme when they allocates SCP capacity to competing demends. Also in the mechanisms, priority scheme is implemented. Two mechanisms show the almost same results on the call throughput. Fairness about the probability of rejection is maintained same value on all SSPs. On Priority scheme, new arrival method has better achievement than fixed method.

  • 전력계통 운용상 점차 고도의 기술이 요구됨에 따라 급전제어소에 설치되는 컴퓨터시스템도 많은 자료를 빠른 시간내에 처리할 수 있도록 대용량의 고속용 계산기가 채용되고 있으며, 이용기술면에서도 온라인 조류계산을 기본으로한 여러가지 진보된 응용기능을 갖추어 가고 있다. 1960년대말 디지탈컴퓨터시스템이 전력계통운용의 자동화를 위하여 특수하게 설계되어 이용된 이래 비약적인 발전을 거듭하면서 최근에는 안전제어(Security Control), 협조계획(Interactive Planning) 그리고 계층제어(Hierarchical Control) 등의 다양한 기능에 의해 전체 전력계통의 안전운용과 효율적운용을 기할 수 있도록 에너지관리시스템(EMS: Energy Management System)이 개발되었으며 세계적으로 많은 전력회사들이 종래에 사용해 오던 AGC/SCADA기능위주의 시스템에서 이 시스템으로 교체해 가고 있다. 우리나라의 한국전력공사에서도 최신기술의 EMS를 도입하기 위한 사업이 1987년 중반기를 준공목표로 1986, 10월말 현재 전체공정의 약 85%가 추진되고 있는데, 여기에서는 이에 관련하여 먼저 EMS의 기술동향과 설계방법에 관해 살펴보고 다음에 한전 EMS의 특징에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.
