Extended Intent Mechanism for Increasing Code Reusability of Android Applications (안드로이드 애플리케이션 코드 재사용성을 높이기 위한 인텐트 메커니즘의 확장)

  • A novel ecosystem surrounding developing, publishing and using of smartphone applications is driving a new paradigm in software industry. Thousands of applications are newly published on appstores everyday. However more than 97% of them happen to be downloaded less than 1,000 times and resultingly disappeared out of user's interesting. It means that so many efforts and time of developers are vanished. In this paper, we proposed a new architecture to increase code reusability of Android applications so that the time and efforts to develop new applications can be shortened. The proposed architecture, an extended Intent mechanism, supports sharing of Android components among the applications registered in different servers as well as in the same Android device. We designed a new Intent mechanism by extending the PackageManager service and by adopting a new class for ServerPackageManager service.

Agent's Activities based Intention Recognition Computing (에이전트 행동에 기반한 의도 인식 컴퓨팅)

  • Understanding agent's intent is an essential component of the human-computer interaction of ubiquitous computing. Because correct inference of subject's intention in ubiquitous computing system helps particularly to understand situations that involve collaboration among multiple agents or detection of situations that can pose a particular activity. This paper, inspired by people have a mechanism for interpreting one another's actions and for inferring the intentions and goals that underlie action, proposes an approach that allows a computing system to quickly recognize the intent of agents based on experience data acquired through prior capabilities of activities recognition. To proceed intention recognition, proposed method uses formulations of Hidden Markov Models (HMM) to model a system's prior experience and agents' action change, then makes for system infer intents in advance before the agent's actions are finalized while taking the perspective of the agent whose intent should be recognized. Quantitative validation of experimental results, while presenting an accurate rate, an early detection rate and a correct duration rate with detecting the intent of several people performing various activities, shows that proposed research contributes to implement effective intent recognition system.

The Influence of Trans Media Experience on Brand Image, Preference and Purchase Intention (트랜스미디어 경험이 브랜드 이미지와 선호도, 구매의도에 미치는 영향 -박카스 셀프스캐너 사례를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Trans Media Brand Experience on Brand Image, Brand Preference, and Purchase Intent. Trans Media experience refers the act of enjoying contents by crossing a number of different media. With the advance of digital convergence, brand experience communication has become more diverse. This study focuses on one particular Trans Media case, Bacchus Self-Scanner by using Smart PLS to analyze 119 participants on a structural equation model. The result shows that 1) brand experience has a positive impact(+) on brand image and purchase intent, 2) brand image has a positive impact(+) on Brand Preference and Purchase Intent, and 3) Brand Preference has a positive impact(+) on Purchase Intent. As the result shows, the empirical proof that Brand Experience affects not only the indirect-effect of Brand Image and Brand Preference but also Purchase Intent as the direct-effect, and that Brand Image can affect Brand Preference and Purchase Intent, will serve as strategic implications for Brand Experience and Brand Image.

Determinants of Intent to Leave among Workers at Long-Term Care Institutions (노인의료복지시설 근무자들의 이직의도 결정요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the determinants of intent to leave among workers at long-term care institutions in South Korea. The model represents a revision of the Price(2001) model which extends previous research by providing a comprehensive review of the economic, psychological, sociological literature. This study also examined the moderating effects of values toward independent variables on the job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The sample used in this study consisted of 400 workers from 9 long-term care hospitals and facilities nationwide. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analysed using multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The main results of the study were as follows. The variance of job satisfaction and organizational commitment explained by the independent variables used in the study are 74.5% and 76.3% respectively. The results of this study revealed that the following variables have significant negative effects on intent to leave among workers; organizational commitment, job satisfaction, positive affectivity, supervisor support, job significance, job security, job growth. And the following variables have significant positive effects on intent to leave among workers; job opportunity, negative affectivity. This result is same when the moderating role of values were considered in the analysis. Among demographic variables, only age was found to have a significant positive effect on the intent to leave among workers.

The effects of Chinese tourists' friendliness toward Korean culture and perceptions of beauty products on beauty tour purchasing behaviors (중국 관광객의 한국 뷰티상품에 대한 인식이 뷰티관광 구매행동에 미치는 영향과 한국 문화 친밀성의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect that Chinese tourists' perceptions of beauty products and their friendliness toward Korean culture have on beauty tourism, particularly on Chinese tourists' intent to purchase, re-purchase, and recommend beauty products. Between the 10th and 21st of June, 2016, a total of 277 questionnaires were distributed in Seoul, Busan, and Daegu using SPSS 21.0. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was undertaken to test the reliability of the questions and an analysis of the frequency, factors, t-test, and Sobel test used in the study. Korean beauty was derived from two factors: "product favorability" and "product excellence and credibility." Product favorability had a significant effect on the intent to purchase, as did participants' friendliness toward Korean culture. Re-purchases and the intent to recommend beauty products were also significantly affected. In the relationship between the perception of beauty products and the intent to purchase, the study revealed partial mediation effects of the participants' friendliness toward Korean culture on product favorability and complete mediation effects on product excellence and credibility. Friendliness toward Korean culture had partially mediated the effect that product favorability had on the intent to re-purchase and recommend. Tourists' friendliness toward Korean culture had complete mediation on the effect that product excellence and credibility had on the intent to re-purchase and recommend. According to the Gender Equality and Family Act, the difference between buying and selling beauty depends on the difference between purchase and intentions. Friendliness toward Korean culture has become an important variable thanks to product superiority and reliability.

Effects of Selection Factors of Hospitals for the Elderly upon Satisfaction of Patients and their Intent of Revisit and Information by Word of Mouth (노인요양병원 선택요인이 환자만족도와 재이용 및 구전의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper is aimed at providing fundamental data for marketing strategies needed to determine the direction of policy to operate hospitals in an effective way. From the analysis, it was found that: first, expectation toward hospitality of the staff, facilities, environment and administrative service of hospitals for the elderly exercises significantly positive(+) effects on satisfaction of patients; second, trust in and satisfaction with administrative service of hospitals for the elderly exerts significantly positive(+) effects on the intent of patients for revisit and information by word of mouth; and third, the intent for revisit influences positively the intent for information by word of mouth significantly. It is therefore needed to try to understand the motives and tendencies of the elderly in selecting hospitals, to promote their satisfaction and to cultivate the spirit for patient-oriented service. Furthermore, efforts should be made to gain trust of medical staff, effects of medical treatment as well as medical equipment in addition to laborious endeavors to work out marketing strategies backed up by price competitiveness of paradigm.

Men's Cosmetics Purchasing Behavior Based on the Level of Interest in Appearance, the Country of Origin, and the Sales Promotion (외모관심도, 화장품 브랜드원산지 및 판촉유형에 따른 남성화장품 구매행동)

  • This research studied men's cosmetics purchasing behavior based on the level of interest one has in one's appearance, the country of origin, and the sales promotion of the cosmetics. The study was conducted by experimental $2{\times}[2{\times}2]$ design by combining the 3 variables mentioned above. The Independent variables in this research were levels of appearance interest(high vs. low), the country of origin(Korean vs. foreign), and types of sales promotion(discount vs. coupon). The dependent variables were the purchase behaviors including favor to cosmetics and purchase intent. Two hundred male consumers participated for the study. Data analysis conducted were factor analysis, cluster analysis and ANOVA. The results were as follows. 1. Male consumers' cosmetics favorness: 3-way significant interaction, in appearance interest, the country of origin, and types of sales promotion, was found for favor to male cosmetics. When male subjects were provided with price discounts and skin care coupons for the Korean cosmetics, they didn't reveal significant differences in favor, regardless of the level of appearance interest. However, for the imported cosmetics, male subjects with high appearance interest showed more favor to the cosmetics than the ones with low appearance interest. 2. Male consumers' purchase intent: 3-way significant interaction, in appearance interest, the country of origin, and types of sales promotion was found for the purchase intent.   • Generally, the Internet Address Resources Act is intended to protect the public from acts of Internet "cybersquatting", a term used to describe the bad faith, abusive registration of Internet domain names. In determining whether a person has a bad faith intent, a court may consider factors such as, (1) the trademark or other intellectual property rights of the person, if any, in the domain name, (2) the extent to which the domain name consists of the legal name of the person or a name that is otherwise commonly used to identify that person, (3) the person's prior use, if any, of the domain name in connection with the bona fide offering of any goods or services, (4) the person's bona fide noncommercial or fair use of the mark in a site accessible under the domain name, (5) the person's intent to divert consumers from the mark owner's online location to a site accessible under the domain name that could harm the goodwill represented by the mark, either for commercial gain or with the intent to tarnish or disparage the mark, by creating a likelihood of confusion as to the source, sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement of the site, (6) the person's offer to transfer, sell, or otherwise assign the domain name to the mark owner or any third party for financial gain without having used, or having an intent to use, the domain name in the bona fide offering of any goods or services, or the person's prior conduct indicating a pattern of such conduct.

A Study on the Effects of Perceived Service Quality in Upscale Korean Restaurants upon Customer's Feeling Response and Revisit Intent (고급 한국음식 레스토랑의 서비스 품질, 고객의 감정적 반응 및 재방문의도와의 인과관계 연구)

  • The purposes of this study were to understand the influence of perceived service quality in upscale Korean restaurants on a customer's feeling response and revisit intent, and to empirically analyze whether a customer's feeling response plays a mediating role between the service quality and revisit intent. Based on a total 303 samples obtained from the empirical research, this study reviewed the reliability and fitness of the research model and verified a total of 2 hypotheses using the Amos program. The hypothesized relationships in the model were tested simultaneously by using a structural equation model(SEM). The proposed model provided an adequate fit to the data, ${\chi^2}_{(df=263)}=557.397$, CMIN/df 2.119, RMR .09, GFI .88, AGFI .86, NFI .94, CFI .97, RMSEA .06. The major results of this study can be outlined as follows: Price & value($\beta=.40$), food quality($\beta=.26$) and atmosphere($\beta=.15$) had a significant positive effect on the customer's feeling response, and the customer's feeling response($\beta=.65$) had a significant positive effect on revisit intent. In addition, the effect of the perceived service quality in upscale Korean restaurants on revisit intent was found to be partially mediated by the customer's feeling response. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

A Runtime Inspection Technique with Intent Specification for Developing Robust Android Apps (강건한 안드로이드 어플리케이션 개발을 위한 실행시간 인텐트 명세 검사 기법)

  • Android apps suffer from intent vulnerabilities in that they abnormally stop execution when Android components such as, activity, service, and broadcast receiver, take malformed intents. This paper proposes a method to prevent intent vulnerabilities by allowing programmers to write a specification on intents that a component expects to have, and by checking intents against the specification in runtime. By declaring intent specifications, we can solve the problem that one may miss writing conditional statements, which check the validity of intents, or one may mix those statements with another regular code, so making it difficult to maintain them. We perform an experiment by applying the proposed method to 7 Android apps, and confirm that many of abnormal termination of the apps because of malformed intents can be avoided by the intent specification based runtime assertion.
