In this paper, a tele-manipulation in explosive ordnance disposal(EOD) applications is discussed. The ROBHAZ-DT2 is developed as a teleoperated mobile manipulator for EOD. In general, it has been thought that the robot must have appropriate functions and accuracy enough to handle the complicated and dangerous mission. However, the research on the ROBHAZ-DT2 revealed that the teleoperation causes more restrictions and difficulties in EOD mission. Thus to solve the problem, a novel user interface for the ROBHAZ-DT2 is developed, in which the operator can interact with various human senses (i.e. visual, auditory and haptic sense). It enables an operator to control the ROBHAZ-DT2 simply and intuitively. A tele-manipulation control scheme for the ROBHAZ-DT2 is also proposed including compliance control via force feedback. It makes the robot adapt itself to circumstances, while the robot faithfully follows a command of the operator. This paper deals with a detailed description on the user interface and the tele-manipulation control for the ROBHAZ-DT2. An EOD demonstration is conducted to verify the validity of the proposed interface and the control scheme.
The architecture for RFID-based home network and an intelligent agent for efficiently managing home network are proposed in this paper. The agent consists of six modules-Agent Manager, Data Collector, Execution Controller, Data Storage, Data Queue and User Interface. Agent Manager manages the tasks of modules, and Data Collector collects the data from home appliances through the RFID readersm Execution Controller determines the operations home appliances according to the conditions of the home environment and transfers the operations to the appliances through the RFID readers. Moreover, Data Storage keeps the data which is necessary for the operations of the agent, and Data Queue temporarily stores the data which is collected from home appliances. Lastly, User Interface provides the graphical user interface in which an individual can directly control and monitor the home network. The proposed intelligent agent autonomously learns the circumstances of a home network by analyzing the data about the state of home appliances, and controls home appliances according to the preference of the user. Therefore, the user can live in the best-suited home environment without direct appliance control if he/she performs home networking through the agent.

In order to provide the convenient access to the mobile services and the efficient utilization of the mobile devices, it is required to devise an intelligent user interface which guarantees the efficient task selection and transition in the limited input/output environments of the mobile devices. In this paper, we propose user task prediction models which are essential for the intelligent user interface, and an accuracy estimation model is also proposed for evaluating the prediction models.
Intelligent applications are crucial for increasing the popularity of shared urban electric bicycles (EBs). Building an application platform architectural system that can satisfy independent user operations is critical for increasing the intelligent usage of shared EBs. Consequently, we collected online reviews of shared EB applications, conducted semantic processing and sentiment analysis, and refined the positive and negative review data for each function. The positive and negative review indices of each function were calculated using the formulae for positive and negative review indices of product functions, thereby determining the functions that need to be improved. Each function of the Shared EB application was improved according to its business process. The main contributions of this study are to build a user requirement architecture system for the Shared EB application with five dimensions and 22 functions using the Delphi method to design the user interface (UI) of this application based on user satisfaction evaluation results; to create a high-fidelity dynamic interaction prototype and compare user satisfaction before and after improving the Shared EB application functions. The testing results indicate that the changes in the UI significantly improve the user experience satisfaction of the urban Shared EB application, with the positive experience index increasing by 69.21% and the negative experience index decreasing by 75.85% overall. This information can be directly used by relevant companies to improve the functions of the Shared EB application.

In the mobile device environment, the context-aware computing has been emerging as a core technology of ubiquitous computing. Compared with a desktop computer, a user interface and resource of mobile device is very limited. Traditional desktop-based user interface has been developed on the basis that a user's activity is static state. In contrast, mobile devices are not able to utilize representative desktop-based interaction mechanisms such as a keyboard and mouse, not only because the activity of a user is dynamic state, but mobile devices have limited resources and small LCD display. In this paper, we introduce an intelligent control system for the mobile device that can utility effectively the limited resource and complement the poor user interface by using an accelerometer being able to sense the physical activity and posture. The proposed system can estimate the user activity, static and dynamic states, and posture watching the PDA at the same time, and the proposed intelligent control system as its application, the backlight ON/OFF on the PDA, is run by the result of the user's behavior.
We propose an intelligent interface algorithm using hand gesture recognition information based on artificial intelligence. This method is functionally an interface that recognizes various motions quickly and intelligently by using MediaPipe and artificial intelligence techniques such as KNN, LSTM, and CNN to track and recognize user hand gestures. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, it is applied to a self-made 2D top-view racing game and robot control. As a result of applying the algorithm, it was possible to control various movements of the virtual object in the game in detail and robustly. And the result of applying the algorithm to the robot control in the real world, it was possible to control movement, stop, left turn, and right turn. In addition, by controlling the main character of the game and the robot in the real world at the same time, the optimized motion was implemented as an intelligent interface for controlling the coexistence space of virtual and real world. The proposed algorithm enables sophisticated control according to natural and intuitive characteristics using the body and fine movement recognition of fingers, and has the advantage of being skilled in a short period of time, so it can be used as basic data for developing intelligent user interfaces.

Recently, due to the widely use of personal computers and internet, many computer users requested intelligent system that can cope with various types of requirements and user-friendly interfaces. Based on this background, researches on the intelligent agent are now activating in various fields. In this paper, we modeled, designed and implemented an intelligent agent system for pattern classification by adopting intelligent agent concepts. We also investigated the pattern classification method by utilizing some pattern classification algorithms for the common data. As a result, we identified that 300 3-dimensional data are applied to three pattern classification algorithms and returned correct results. Our system showed a distinguished user-friendly interface feature by adopting various agents including graphic agent.

Research in Human Computer Interface (HCI) is towards development of an application environment able to deal with interactions of both human and computers that can be more intuitive and efficient. This can be achieved by bridging the gap between the synthetic virtual environment and the natural physical environment. Thus a project called Tangible Space Initiative (TSI) has been launched by KIST. TSI is subdivided into Tangible Interface (TI) which controls 3D cyber space with user's perspective, Responsive Cyber Space (RCS) which creates and controls the virtual environment and Tangible Agent (TA) which senses and acts upon the physical interface environment on behalf of any components of TSI or the user. This paper is a brief introduction to a new generation of Human Computer Interface that bring user to a new era of interaction with computers in the future.

One of the research objectives in the area of multimedia human-computer interaction is the application of artificial intelligence and robotics technologies to the development of computer interfaces. This involves utilizing many forms of media, integrating speed input, natural language, graphics, hand pointing gestures, and other methods for interactive dialogues. Although current human-computer communication methods include computer keyboards, mice, and other traditional devices, the two basic ways by which people communicate with each other are voice and gesture. This paper reports on research focusing on the development of an intelligent multimedia interface system modeled based on the manner in which people communicate. This work explores the interaction between humans and computers based only on the processing of speech(Work uttered by the person) and processing of images(hand pointing gestures). The purpose of the interface is to control a pan/tilt camera to point it to a location specified by the user through utterance of words and pointing of the hand, The systems utilizes another stationary camera to capture images of the users hand and a microphone to capture the users words. Upon processing of the images and sounds, the systems responds by pointing the camera. Initially, the interface uses hand pointing to locate the general position which user is referring to and then the interface uses voice command provided by user to fine-the location, and change the zooming of the camera, if requested. The image of the location is captured by the pan/tilt camera and sent to a color TV monitor to be displayed. This type of system has applications in tele-conferencing and other rmote operations, where the system must respond to users command, in a manner similar to how the user would communicate with another person. The advantage of this approach is the elimination of the traditional input devices that the user must utilize in order to control a pan/tillt camera, replacing them with more "natural" means of interaction. A number of experiments were performed to evaluate the interface system with respect to its accuracy, efficiency, reliability, and limitation.
