A Design of Mobile Robot based on Camera and Sound Source Localization for Intelligent Surveillance System (지능형 감시 시스템 구축을 위한 영상과 음원 추적 기반 임베디드 모바일로봇 개발)

  • The necessity of intelligent surveillance system is gradually considered seriously from the space where the security is important. In this paper, we embodied unmanned intelligent system by developing embedded mobile robot based on images and sounds tracking. For objects tracking, we used block-matching algorithm and for sound source tracking, we calculated time differences and magnitude dissimilarities of sound. And we demonstrated the superiority of intruder tracking algorithm through the embodiment of Pan-Tilt camera and sound source tracking module using system, Network camera and mobile robot using system and mobile robot using system. By linking security system, the suggested system can provide some interfacing functions for the security service of the public facilities as well as that of home.

  • Data association plays an important role in intelligent systems. This paper presents the Bayesian formulation of data association and its applications to intelligent systems. We first describe the Bayesian formulation of data association developed for solving multi-target tracking problems in a cluttered environment. Then we review applications of data association in intelligent systems, including surveillance using wireless sensor networks, identity management for air traffic control, camera network localization, and multi-sensor fusion.

  • DUPIC Fuel Development Facility(DFDF) is the facility to fabricate CANDU-type fuel from spent PWR fuel material without any separation of fissile elements and fission products. Unattended continuous surveillance systems for safeguards of nuclear facility result in large amounts of image and radiation data, which require much time and effort to inspect. Therefore, it is necessary to develop system that automatically pinpoints and diagnoses the anomalies from data. In this regards, this paper presents a novel concept of the continuous surveillance system that integrates visual image and radiation data by the use of neural networks. This surveillance system is operating for safeguards of the DFDF in KAERI.

  • Ports and coastal areas that serve as national corridors have threats such as smuggling ships, enemy infiltration ships and pirate ships. To prevent intrusion of intrusive vessels, a system is needed to continuously monitor the coastal area and detect their intrusion. However, it is difficult for surveillance personnel to identify threatened vessels while monitoring large coastal areas. In this paper, we propose a system that can monitor coastal and harbor area and automatically detect ships entering the Navigation Inhibit Area to generate alarms and classify the types of ships by image classification.

  • In this paper, an autonomous surveillance-tracking system for Workers monitoring basing on the stereo vision scheme is proposed. That is, analysing the characteristics of the cross-axis camera system through some experiments, a optimized stereo vision system is constructed and using this system an intelligent worker surveillance-tracking system is implemented, in which a target worker moving through the environments can be detected and tracked, and its resultant stereo location coordinates and moving trajectory in the world space also can be extracted. From some experiments on moving target surveillance-tracking, it is analyzed that the target's center location after being tracked is kept to be very low error ratio of 1.82%, 1.11% on average in the horizontal and vertical directions, respectively. And, the error ratio between the calculation and measurement values of the 3D location coordinates of the target person is found to be very low value of 2.5% for the test scenario on average. Accordingly, in this paper, a possibility of practical implementation of the intelligent stereo surveillance system for real-time tracking of a target worker moving through the environments and robust detection of the target's 3D location coordinates and moving trajectory in the real world is finally suggested.

  • Intelligent radar sensors are applied in many industries, such as the automobile, aerospace, and defense industries (for security and surveillance), and for traffic monitoring and management as well as environmental and weather monitoring. Furthermore, they are used in smart cities, homes, and buildings, wherein intelligent motion sensing is required in daily life. It is mentioned that it is being used. In addition, ETRI introduces a phased array-based intelligent radar for drone detection and a human name detection radar technology based on which humans can be detected in case of a disaster.

  • In the place that its security is crucial, the necessity of system which can tract and recognize random person is getting more important. In this paper, we'd like to develop the invader tracking system which consists of the sound source tracking-sensor and the pan-tilt camera for wide-area guard. After detecting the direction of any sound with the sound source tracking-sensor at first, our system make move the pan-tilt camera to that direction and extract reference image from that camera. This reference image is compared and updated by the next captured image after some interval time. By keeping on it over again, we can realize the guard system which can tract an invader using the difference image and the result of another image processing. By linking home network security system, the suggested system can provide some interfacing functions for the security service of the public facilities as well as that of home.

  • Recently, CCTV cameras are emplaced actively to reinforce security and intelligent surveillance systems have been under development for detecting and monitoring of the objects in the video. In this study, we propose a method for detection of upper body in intelligent surveillance system using FCM-based RBFNN classifier realized with the aid of HOG features. Firstly, HOG features that have been originally proposed to detect the pedestrian are adopted to train the unique gradient features about upper body. However, HOG features typically exhibit a very high dimension of which is proportional to the size of the input image, it is necessary to reduce the dimension of inputs of the RBFNN classifier. Thus the well-known PCA algorithm is applied prior to the RBFNN classification step. In the computer simulation experiments, the RBFNN classifier was trained using pre-classified upper body images and non-person images and then the performance of the proposed classifier for upper body detection is evaluated by using test images and video sequences.

Multiple Moving Objects Detection and Tracking Algorithm for Intelligent Surveillance System (지능형 보안 시스템을 위한 다중 물체 탐지 및 추적 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast and robust framework for detecting and tracking multiple targets. The proposed system includes two modules: object detection module and object tracking module. In the detection module, we preprocess the input images frame by frame, such as gray and binarization. Next after extracting the foreground object from the input images, morphology technology is used to reduce noises in foreground images. We also use a block-based histogram analysis method to distinguish human and other objects. In the tracking module, color-based tracking algorithm and Kalman filter are used. After converting the RGB images into HSV images, the color-based tracking algorithm to track the multiple targets is used. Also, Kalman filter is proposed to track the object and to judge the occlusion of different objects. Finally, we show the effectiveness and the applicability of the proposed method through experiments.

  • Video surveillance is consists of cameras, transmission devices, storage and playback devices, and is used for crime prevention and disaster monitoring. Recently, it has been spreading to a wide variety of fields, and has developed into an intelligent video surveillance system that can automatically recognize or track characteristic objects of people and things. The purpose of this study was to investigate the cases of video surveillance service applying the latest technology by dividing it into the home, public, and private sectors. also this study tried to investigate and research what advantage it brings from a business perspective. By looking at the cases introduced in this study, it was confirmed that the viedo security service is developing intelligently, such as excellent compatibility with CCTV, multiple video surveillance, CCTV screen motion detection, and alarm through automatic analysis.
