The goal of this article is to stress the importance of good quality in telecommunication services and to introduce two basic concepts on the service quality in the telecommunication industry: QoS(Quality of Service) and NP(Network Performance) Based on these notions, presented is an integrated scheme for quality improvement in telecommunication services. Tn particular , proposed with this framework Is an efficient and effective establishment of a balanced set of parameters for continuous monitoring and correct ions of service performance.

Number of components and payload systems installed in satellites were found to be exposed to various disturbance sources such as the reaction wheel assembly, the control moment gyro, coolers, and others. A micro-level of vibration can introduce jitter problems into an optical payload system and cause significant degradation of the image quality. Moreover, the prediction of on-orbit vibration effects on the performance of optical payloads during the development process is always important. However, analyzing interactions between subsystems and predicting the vibration level of the payloads is extremely difficult. Therefore, this paper describes the analytical and experimental approach to microvibration effects on satellite optical payload performance with integrated jitter analysis framework, micro vibration emulator and satellite structure testbed.

Many manufacturing companies manage their production-related data for quality management and production management. Nevertheless, production related-data should be closely related to each other Stored data is mainly used to monitor their process and products' error. In this paper, we provide an enterprise-wide production data model for decision support system and product automation. Process data, quality-related data, and test data are integrated to identify the process inter or intra dependency, the yield forecasting, and the trend of process status. In addition, it helps the manufacturing decision support system to decide critical manufacturing problems.

The objective of this research was to develop a framework of the Soil Environment Information Management System (SEIMS). In this study, we found that the SEIMS needs to be consisted of three sub-systems (i.e., information input system, DB system, and opening to the public system), which is operated on the Web-GIS basis. Also, we suggested structure and detailed items for each sub-system which are acceptable under the basis of current legal and institutional system. Furthermore, we made several suggestions for future-oriented system. Further researches need to be pursued for developing efficiently the SEIMS, such as 1) DB standards for the SEIMS, 2) guidelines for each cleanup phase, 3) improvement of the SEIMS for groundwater quality, and 4) integrated SEIMS for both soil and groundwater system.

본 논문에서는 통합 멀티미디어 스트리밍 프레임워크(ISSA)의 주요 모듈인 전송 및 세션 관리자에 대한 개발 경험을 소개한다. ISSA(Integrated Streaming Service Architectur)[1][2]는 유니캐스팅/멀티캐스팅 환경의 VOD 시스템과 실시간 방송시스템(라이브캐스팅)과 같은 통합 멀티미디어 스트리밍 서비스 응용을 개발하기 위한 스트리밍 프레임워크이며 RTP(Real-Time Protocol)/RTCP(Real-Time Control Protocol)[3][4], RTSP 등의 표준 실시간 전송 프로토콜을 사용함으로써 사용자에게 범용성을 제공한다. ISSA는 다양한 형태의 미디어를 지원하며, 이기종 운영체제와 네트워크에 독립적이며, 실시간 멀티미디어 데이터베이스와 연동하여 사용자에게 데이터베이스 서비스를 제공할 수 있다. 세션 관리자는 미디어 채널의 생성과 제어를 담당하는 기능과 멀티미디어 데이터베이스를 위한 트랜잭션 전송기능을 담당하는 기능을 제공하며 각각 RTSP와 RTTP 프로토콜을 이용하여 구현되었다.

오늘날 국내 금융시장은 정택 및 규제에 대한 변화와 구조조정 및 인수 합병을 통한 금융회사의 대형화와 금융상품간의 복합 및 연계된 종합금융서비스를 제공하는 등의 급격한 환경 변화를 겪고 있다. 이러한 환경변화 속에서 금융 시스템 운영의 주체가 되는 마스터 데이터가 각각의 시스템에 개별적으로 관리되고 있어 이로 인해 금융 데이터의 품질 관리에 어려움이 생기게 되고 데이터의 중복 및 일관성에 문제가 생기게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 자크만 프레임워크를 활용한 통합 마스터 데이터 관리시스템을 제안한다. 이러한 마스터 데이터 관리를 통해 데이터 중복 및 데이터 정합성 보장, 시스템 연계간의 유연성을 확보하는 기대 효과를 예상할 수 있다.

Many of the newest network suers are gaining their fist network experience as users of the Internet. Because of the universal nature of this exciting new experience, millions of new users are driving the demand for increasingly multimedia oriented applications, especially in communication area. Since the communication via the Internet can use various media forms including audio, video and graphics, it can e very efficient communication system on the Internet, which allows Internet users to communicate, collaborate, and associate with others. Webber provides various communication services, like ACS(Audio Conference System), VCS(Video Conference System) and Virtual Space, in an integrated environment. Webber consists of Service-PUBs(Processing Unit Plug-in), which process each service, and Framework, which manages these PUPs. PUP is so highly independent of each other that it's easy to add, maintain, delete services and also optimally configure the system to user's terminal performance or network status.

Accreditation of engineering education as initiated by Accreditation Board for Engineering Education of Korea (ABEEK) centers around three key issues: program outcomes, assessment/evaluation thereof, and continuous quality improvement (CQI). Most engineering departments, however, are neither adequately familiar with nor well prepared for the issues, especially CQI. The CQI in almost all departments seems to be overly confined in individual courses and the final capstone design courses for seniors; there is no evidence that CQI is not limited to the course level but flows through all courses in the curriculum. This paper presents a sound and viable framework for CQI implementation in which course-level CQI is integrated into the department/program-level CQI.

The Gene Set network viewer (GSnet) visualizes the functional enrichment of a given gene set with a protein interaction network and is implemented as a plug-in for the Cytoscape platform. The functional enrichment of a given gene set is calculated using a hypergeometric test based on the Gene Ontology annotation. The protein interaction network is estimated using public data. Set operations allow a complex protein interaction network to be decomposed into a functionally-enriched module of interest. GSnet provides a new framework for gene set analysis by integrating a priori knowledge of a biological network with functional enrichment analysis.

Electric business all over the world is dramatically changed from vertically integrated monopoly to competition systems. Also, independent power producers(IPPs) will start their commercial operation from the year 2001 in Korea. In this regard, determination of the transaction cost between IPPs and electric utilities will be a hot issue, and electric utilities requires a new framework to support their decision-making. This paper presents the concept of the avoided cost which can be used for economic studies. This paper also describes a novel algorithm to evaluate the avoided cost of a IPP. The case studies are performed on the basis of the official generation expansion plan of Korea by using the Wien Automatic System Planning Package(WASP).
