Online Tourism Review : Three Phases for Successful Destination Relationships

  • This study developed a conceptual model that integrated psychological and physical reactions resulting from online tourism reviews through a longitudinal trust-satisfaction model (LSTM) developed based on the extended valence framework and expectation-confirmation theory. Online reviews are essential factor of consumer's purchase decision. This phenomenon is well applied in a tourism context. However, investigations on online reviews in a longitudinal approach in a tourism context are quite limited. Therefore, this study suggests a conceptual model based on LTSM and several propositions about how online tourism reviews, which are divided into factual and experiential reviews, influence the future travelers' perceptions and attitudes, such as expectation, confirmation, and destination loyalty, in a longitudinal format by examining previous related studies. Finally, expected results were discussed and several implications were described theoretically and practically.

  • The qualities of the technological artifact of online shopping websites and the overall support delivered by the service provider through the website are generally agreed to be crucial elements in creating customer satisfaction and loyalty. However, a lack of consensus exists on how those qualities are related to each other, what they consist of, and how they can be conceptualized. Based on relevant literature and using a servicescape framework as a theoretical lens, we divide online shopping website qualities into information and system qualities and argue that both factors affect service quality. We conceptualize each of the three types of quality as a second-order formative construct comprising its most salient quality dimensions: information quality consisting of reliability, understandability, currency, and relevance; system quality consisting of usability, availability, and responsiveness; and service quality consisting of efficiency and fulfillment. Our model of how information, system, and service qualities are related to one another and to customer satisfaction and loyalty is then tested empirically with a data set of 570 online shopping customers. Our integrated model reconciles the seemingly contradictory conceptualizations of previous researchers and provides an effective way to create customer satisfaction and loyalty.

A Study on the Dimension of Quality Metrics for Information Systems Development and Success : An Application of Information Processing Theory

  • Information systems quality engineering is one of the most problematic areas in practice and research, and needs cooperative efforts between practice and theory [Glass, 1996]. A model for evaluating the quality of system development process and ensuing success is proposed based on information processing theory of project unit design. A nomological net among a set of quality variables is identified from prior research in the areas of organization science, software engineering, and management information systems. More specifically, system development success was modelled as a function of project complexity, system development modelling environment, user participation, project unit structure, resource availability, and the level of iterative nature of development methodology. Based on the model developed from the information processing theory of project unit design in organization science. appropriate quality metrics for each variable in the proposed model are matched. In this way, a framework of relevant systems development and success quality metrics for controlling systems development processes and ensuing success is proposed. The causal relationships among the constructs in the proposed model are proposed as future empirical research for academicians and as managerial tools for quality managers. The framework and propositions help quality manager to select more parsimonious quality metrics for controlling information systems development processes and project success in an integrated way. Also this model can be utilized for evaluating software quality assurance programmes, which are developed and marketed by many vendors.

  • For the development of reliable software, Software testing is the most important. Recently small changes of the software according to the importance of regression testing is growing. To verify Application of a large number of nodes, Network simulator environment is required. This paper proposed interface module between network framework for sensor network application and co-simulator to unit test sensor network application. To conclude, developer can focus on sensor network application implementation only, so the improved integrated simulator contributes to increase development productivity.

  • Most of existing integrated remote controllers can control only a group of home appliances made by the same manufacturer. And they cannot monitor the status of home appliances since they are based on analog RF(Radio Frequency) signal and operate in a uni-directional manner In this paper, we propose a software framework for a hi-directional universal remote controller(URC) which monitors the status of home appliances in Wireless Personal Area Network(WPAN). The URC can handle the control and status messages which consist of a command with related arguments. When a user wants to control any home appliance, the URC can be dynamically configured to its dedicated remote controller by generating a GUI according to its profile. Any other devices which have a capacity for understanding the profile from the controlled devices can play the same role of the URC.

  • Today's robots consist of many hardware and software subsystems, depending on the functions needed for specific tasks. Integration of subsystems can require a great deal of effort, as both the communication method and protocol of the subsystem can vary. This paper proposes an expandable robotic system in which all subsystems are integrated under Robot Operation System (ROS) framework. To achieve this, the paper presents a software library, ROS_M, developed to implement the TCP/IP-based ROS communication protocol in different control environments such as MCU and RT kernel based embedded system. Then, all the subsystem including hardware can use ROS protocol consistently for communication, which makes adding new software or hardware subsystems to the robotic system easier. A latency measurement experiment reveals that the system built for loop control can be used in a soft real-time environment. Finally, an expandable mobile manipulator robot is introduced as an application of the proposed system. This robot consists of four subsystems that operate in different control environments.

A Tailless UAV Multidisciplinary Design Optimization Using Global Variable Fidelity Modeling

  • This paper describes the multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) process of a tailless unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) using global variable fidelity aerodynamic analysis. The developed tailless UAV design framework combines multiple disciplines that are based on low-fidelity and empirical analysis methods. An automated high-fidelity aerodynamic analysis is efficiently integrated into the MDO framework. Global variable fidelity modeling algorithm manages the use of the high-fidelity analysis to enhance the overall accuracy of the MDO by providing the initial sampling of the design space with iterative refinement of the approximation model in the neighborhood of the optimum solution. A design formulation was established considering a specific aerodynamic, stability and control design features of a tailless aircraft configuration with a UCAV specific mission profile. Design optimization problems with low-fidelity and variable fidelity analyses were successfully solved. The objective function improvement is 14.5% and 15.9% with low and variable fidelity optimization respectively. Results also indicate that low-fidelity analysis overestimates the value of lift-to-drag ratio by 3-5%, while the variable fidelity results are equal to the high-fidelity analysis results by algorithm definition.

  • This study was performed to develop the conceptual framework of the nursing productivity. The study efforts were made (1) to define the concept the nursing productivity, (2) to identify the elements of the productivity, and (3) to determine the relationship among the elements. With the aim, the study employed a descriptive analysis by way of reviewing various references related w the subject. The nursing productivity consists of such elements as the nursing efficiency and Lhe nursing effectiveness which are complememary Lo each other. The nursing efficiency is the quantative input/output ratio, while the nursing effectiveness represents the integrated outcome of sch sub-elements as the degree of accomplishing nursing goals, the quality of nursing service, consumer's satisfaction, and the degree of improvement of nurse's attitude toward the quality care. The nursing prodiccivity can be estimated by summing up the nursing efficiency and the effectiveness. By employing the system theory model, the elements of the nursing producTivity consist of three elements; the input, the process, and the output. By the process elements, the system inputs are transformed to the system outputs nursing efficiency and nursing effecitveness which are input 1.0 the system, in turn, through feedback mechanism(Figure 4).

Motion Planning and Control for Mobile Robot with SOFM

  • Despite the many significant advances made in robot architecture, the basic approaches are deliberative and reactive methods. They are quite different in recognizing outer environment and inner operating mechanism. For this reason, they have almost opposite characteristics. Later, researchers integrate these two approaches into hybrid architecture. In such architecture, Reactive module also called low-level motion control module have advantage in real-time reacting and sensing outer environment; Deliberative module also called high-level task planning module is good at planning task using world knowledge, reasoning and intelligent computing. This paper presents a framework of the integrated planning and control for mobile robot navigation. Unlike the existing hybrid architecture, it learns topological map from the world map by using MST (Minimum Spanning Tree)-based SOFM (Self-Organizing Feature Map) algorithm. High-level planning module plans simple tasks to low-level control module and low-level control module feedbacks the environment information to high-level planning module. This method allows for a tight integration between high-level and low-level modules, which provide real-time performance and strong adaptability and reactivity to outer environment and its unforeseen changes. This proposed framework is verified by simulation.

  • Assembly scheduling in shipbuilding is responsible for determine assembly process orders and departmental production schedule for the block, the basic composite unit of ships. It is necessary much more information to decide production scheduling as the characteristic of shipbuilding which has been more complex and more various and also, a lot of waste of time and of human power is generated in the course of data processing. The target shipbuilding manufacturer of this study use empirical techniques, based on the user's discretion, to compile and to apply data which are scattered in DB storages separately. Because of that reason, the user should not only be performed identification and screening operations but also modification and verification for vast amounts of data, so it is hard to keep the consistency of the data and also the operation time is not constant. Accordingly, the object in this study is by presenting an efficient DB framework to reduce wasting time and man-hour at experienced-oriented process, abate user's manual operations and support an efficient scheduling in assembly processes.
