Semi-active vibration control using experimental model of magnetorheological damper with adaptive F-PID controller

  • The aim of this research is to develop a new method to use magnetorheological (MR) damper for vibration control. It is a new way to achieve the MR damper response without the need to have detailed constant parameters estimations. The methodology adopted in designing the control structure in this work is based on the experimental results. In order to investigate and understand the behaviour of an MR damper, an experiment is first conducted. Force-displacement and force-velocity responses with varying current have been established to model the MR damper. The force for upward and downward motions of the damper piston is found to be increasing with current and velocity. In cyclic motion, which is the combination of upward and downward motions of the piston, the force with hysteresis behaviour is seen to be increasing with current. In addition, the energy dissipated is also found to be linear with current. A proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, based on the established characteristics for a quarter car suspension model, has been adapted in this study. A fuzzy rule based PID controller (F-PID) is opted to achieve better response for a varying frequency input. The outcome of this study can be used in the modelling of MR damper and applied to control engineering. Moreover, the identified behaviour can help in further development of the MR damper technology.

  • 합산 영역 테이블은 모든 픽셀에 대해 임의의 크기 사각영역의 이미지 필터링 처리를 일정시간 안에 가능케 한다. 이러한 특성은 각각의 픽셀에 대해서 주변 픽셀의 밝기의 합 혹은 평균을 필요로 하는 이미지 처리 적용 분야에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다. 합산 영역 테이블의 생성은 단지 행 혹은 열 단위의 합만을 구하는 메모리 바운드 작업임에도 불구하고 기존 연구들은 이미 존재하는 데이터 병렬성만을 활용하기 위하여 대기 시간이 긴 전역 메모리에 과도한 접근을 하여야만 했다. 본 논문에서는 입력 데이터를 정방의 서브 이미지로 분할하고 매개 데이터를 이들 간에 파급시킴으로써 GPGPU 환경 적합한 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 기존 방법 대비 전역 메모리 접근 량을 거의 반으로 줄임으로써 주어진 메모리 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용한다. 결과에서도 성능이 대폭 향상되었다.

문제중심학습에서 교수와 학생의 역할 (Role of tutor and student in Problem Based Learning)

  • Basic science teaching and clinical education should be integrated whenever appropriate, and the development of skills, values, and attitudes which are emphasized to the same extent as the acquisition of knowledge in nursing. Problem-based learning provides a students-centered learning environment and encourages an inquisitive style of learning. The purpose of this paper is to review and comment the role of tutors and students on problem-based learning. The use of problem-based learning places a high demand on faculty members' time and support. The role of tutors in Problem-based learning focuses primarily on issues of developing and teaching the curriculum and on organizational implementation and institutionalization. Tutors are an integral part of course planning. Tutors serve as a constant source of feedback on student needs and concerns to the course director and constitute an informal steering committee while the course is in progress. Tutors write cases, develop student evaluation methods, recommend resources, suggest modifications in lectures and laboratories. Students have a limited amount of time available to study what is traditionally defined as the core content of nursing. But, the role of students in Problem-based learning would be active, independent learners and problem-solvers rather than passive recipients of information. Students using a deep level approach attempt to integrate what they learn with what they already know, to understand the meaning underlying the material to be learned, and to look for explanations rather than facts. Students are encouraged, with appropriate guidance, to define their own learning goals, to select appropriate experiences to achieve these goals, and to be responsible for assessing their own learning progress. Problem-based learning is more flexible and meaningful, by encouraging student interaction, and by having a better emotional climate than the conventional learning.

천연가스 유량 측정에서 헬름홀츠 자유에너지를 이용한 임계유동함수 계산 (Evaluation of Critical Flow Function by Using Helmholtz Free Energy for Natural Gas Flow Measurement)

  • 본 연구에서는 천연가스 유량 측정에서 2차 표준으로 사용되는 소닉노즐 뱅크 -12개 노즐 패키지로 구성-의 임계유동함수 계산 시간을 1초 이하로 단축하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 AGA 8-dc 상태방정식을 적용한 헬름홀츠 자유에너지를 유도하고 이로부터 적분 항이 없는 열역학 상태량 식을 도출하여 CFF 계산에 적용하였다. 그 결과 CFF 계산 시간이 기존 6.7초/12개에서 0.6초/12개로 크게 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었고 이 계산 시간은 가스 성분 수와 거의 무관함도 알 수 있었다. 또한 본 계산 결과의 정확도를 확인하기 위해 기존 CFF 국제비교연구의 결과와 비교한 결과 차이가 없음도 확인하였다.

대형 로터의 자유단조공정에서 기공압착 예측을 위한 유한요소해석 (FE Analysis for the Prediction of Void Closure on the Free Forging Process of a Large Rotor)

  • Voids in a large rotor are formed in solidification process of a cast ingot. The voids have to be eliminated from the rotor by a forming process, because they would became stress-intensity factors which suddenly fracture the rotor in the operation. Previous studies on void-elimination of a large rotor have mainly focused on finding the process variables affecting the void-closure. But the study on the amount of void closure in a large rotor has been very rare. This study was performed to obtain an equation which predicts the amount of void-closure in a forging process of a large rotor and to evaluate the availability of the void-closure equation through finite element analyses. Firstly, 2D FE analysis was carried out to find effects of time integral of hydrostatic stress and effective strain on void volume rate of a large rotor in the upsetting process for various diameters and shapes of void, and material temperature. From the 2D FE analysis, we found that effective strain was suitable for predicting the void-closure of a large rotor, because there was a constant relationship between void volume rate and effective strain. And a void-closure equation was proposed fur predicting void-closure of a large rotor in the upsetting process. Finally, ken the 3D FE analysis, the proposed void-closure equation was verified to be useful for upsetting and cogging processes.

일산화탄소흡입(一酸化炭素吸入)이 비임신(非妊娠) 토끼자궁운동(子宮運動)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effect of Carbon Monoxide Inhalation on the Uterine Motility of the Nonpregnant Rabbit)

  • Adult nonpregnant female rabbits were subjected to the study of the effects of carbon monoxide inhalation on the uterine motility. Animals were anesthetized with intravenous injection of nembutal, 35 mg/kg, and the uteri were exposed. Polyethylene tubing which had a small hole near the blind tip was inserted in the loop and normal saline was infused at a constant rate of 1.5 ml/min. On the other end of the loop, an outlet of fluid was made. When a peristaltic wave proceeded to the hole, a rise of the pressure was ensued and it was transmitted to the pressure transducer, making an upward deflection of the recording pen on the physiograph. Carbon monoxide, 1,000 ppm in the concentration, was inhaled through a tracheal cannula for 30 minutes, following fresh air for 30 minutes. In some cases, pure oxygen was also supplemented for another 30 minutes. Uterine motility was expressed in terms of the impulse that was the time integral of the pressure and of the frequency of the peristaltic waves. The results obtained were as follows. 1. When 1,000 ppm carbon monoxide was inhaled for 30 minutes, the impulse dropped to $72{\pm}16.5%$ and the frequency to $75{\pm}22.7%$ of the values obtained before the gas administration. 2. By fresh air for 30 minutes, the impulse and the frequency restored to $77{\pm}25.7%$ and $92{\pm}21.1%$, respectively. 3. By the supplement of pure oxygen for 30 minutes, no remarkable improvement were revealed, showing $89{\pm}35.2%$ in the impulse and $91{\pm}10.8%$ in the frequency, respectively. 4. There was an appreciable discrepancy in the recovery courses of the impulse and the frequency, suggesting different mechanisms attributable to the alteration by carbon monoxide inhalation.

손실함수를 적용한 공정평균 이동에 대한 조정시기 결정 (Determination of the Resetting Time to the Process Mean Shift by the Loss Function)

  • Machines are physically or chemically degenerated by continuous usage. One of the results of this degeneration is the process mean shift. Under the process mean shift, production cost, failure cost and quality loss function cost are increasing continuously. Therefore a periodic preventive resetting the process is necessary. We suppose that the wear level is observable. In this case, process mean shift problem has similar characteristics to the maintenance policy model. In the previous studies, process mean shift problem has been studied in several fields such as 'Tool wear limit', 'Canning Process' and 'Quality Loss Function' separately or partially integrated form. This paper proposes an integrated cost model which involves production cost by the material, failure cost by the nonconforming items, quality loss function cost by the deviation between the quality characteristics from the target value and resetting the process cost. We expand this process mean shift problem a little more by dealing the process variance as a function, not a constant value. We suggested a multiplier function model to the process variance according to the analysis result with practical data. We adopted two-side specification to our model. The initial process mean is generally set somewhat above the lower specification. The objective function is total integrated costs per unit wear and independent variables are wear limit and initial setting process mean. The optimum is derived from numerical analysis because the integral form of the objective function is not possible. A numerical example is presented.

온라인 동조 PI 제어기법을 이용한 영구자석형 동기전동기의 속도 제어기 설계 (Design of a permanent magnetic synchronous motor speed servo controller using on-line tuning PI control method)

  • 본 논문은 브러시리스 직류 전동기의 속도제어를 위해 파라메타의 추정 없이 입력과 출력의 패턴을 관찰하여 PI 이득을 온라인(On-line)으로 설정하는 방법을 제안한다. 비례이득은 한계입력을 인가하여 가장 빠른 속도 상승을 유도하는 과정에서 설정되고, 적분이득은 비례제어 과정 중에 오버슈트 방지와 안정된 수렴이 적절히 이루어지도록 설정된다. 따라서 제안된 PI이득 조정은 온라인으로 제어와 동시에 수행됨으로써 시스템 파라메타 추정 등의 부가적인 작업이 필요 없다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 PI이득 조절기법은 직류전동기의 속도제어에 있어서 빠른 응답과 오버슈트 문제를 동시에 해결할 수 있고, 기존의 Auto-tuning 방법보다 간편하고 실용적이다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 실제 실험을 통하여 제안하는 방법의 유용성과 안정성을 보인다.

適應制御裝置에 關한 硏究 (A Study of the Adaptive Control System)

  • Recently the adaptive control system, which keeps the control system always optimal by adjusting the control parameters automatically according to the variations of the plant parameters, have become very important in the field of control engineering. The adaptive control systems are usally composed of the plant identification, the decision of the optimal control parameters, and the adjustment of the control parameters. This paper deals with a method of the adaptive control system when PI or PID controller is used in the feed back control system. Its controlled object (the plant) is assumed to be described by the transfer function of $\frac{ke^{-LS}}{1+TS}$ where k, T and L are steady state gain, time constant and pure dead time respectively, and their values are variable in accordance with the change of environmental circumstance. It has been known that a pseudo-random binary signal is quite effective for the measurement of an impulse response of a plant. In adaptive control systems, however, the impulse response itself is not appropriate to determine the control parameters. In this paper, the authors propose a method to estimate directly the parameters of the plant k, T and L by means of the correlation technique using 3 level M-sequence signal as a test signal. The authors also propose a method to determine the optimal parameters of the PI or PID controller in the sense of minimizing the square integral of the control error in the feed back control system, and the values of the optimal parameters are computed numerically for various values of T and L, and the results are examined and compared with those of the conventional methods. Finally the above-mentioned two methods are combined and an algorithm to struct an adaptive control system is suggested. The experiments for the indicial responses by means of both the model of the temperature control system using SCR actuater and the analog simulations have shown good results as expected, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified. The M-sequence generator and the time delay circuit, which are manufactured for the experiments, are operated in quite a good condition.

  • This paper presents a new experimental Servo-Parameter tuning technique for a 6-axes articulated robot manipulator, especially considering robot's dynamics. First of all, investigation for proportional gain of velocity control loop by using a Dynamic Signal Analyzer(DSA) is performed. Using the FUNCTION characteristic of DSA based on the Bode plot, the Bode plot of open loop transfer function can be obtained. In turn, the integral gain of a servo controller can be found out by using the integration time constant extracted from the Bode plot of open loop transfer function. In the meanwhile, the positional gain of the servo controller can be obtained by using the Bode plot of the closed loop transfer function. Using the experimental gain tuning technique proposed in this paper, the testing linear motion of DR6-II robot has been shown to be more accurate rather than the motion with a conventional(empirical) gain tuning technique in Doosan Mecatec Co., Ltd., by improving the dynamic response of the robot as well as synchronizing each joint velocity according to the positional command of an end-effector.
