  • Institutional repositories (IR) are promising to be extremely advantageous to scholars especially in developing countries. IR initiatives started in India during the late nineties and the popularity of this concept is growing rapidly in the higher educational and research institutions to disseminate newly emerging knowledge and expertise. The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze the network links of IR websites among four IITs that are registered in open DOAR (Directory of Open Access Repositories) web portal. The Institutional Repositories chosen for the study are IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Bombay, and IIT Kanpur. The analysis of the study focused on standard graph and network cohesion metrics, such as density, diameter, eccentricity and distances, and clustering coefficient; for an even more detailed analysis advanced centrality measures and fast algorithms such as clique census are used.

The questionnaire requested information about demographic information, situation of sanitation education, contents of sanitation education practice, importance of sanitation education, and sanitation knowledge. Data were analyzed using frequencies, means, chi-square test, and t-test. Over half (52.1%) of the respondents were institutional foodservice directors, 47.9% of the respondents were commercial foodservice directors. The majority of institutional foodservice directors were 25-29 years of age (38.6%), over 10 years of working experience (63.6%) and commercial foodservice directors were 25-29 years of age (53.1%), 5-10 years of working experience (35.0%). 66.3% of the respondents were educated food safety once a month, but 8.6% of commercial foodservices were never educated. The majority of the respondents used printing materials (73.3%) or lecture (74.8%). The importance level of institutional foodservice directors about sanitation education was significantly higher than commercial foodservice directors. The average score of institutional foodservice directors' sanitation knowledge was 87.05/100.00. The commercial foodservice directors' sanitation knowledge 67.74 was significantly lower than institutional foodservice directors (p < 0.05). • Objectives: Korean medicine hospitals, since they first emerged in the early 1970s, have rapidly become a new member of the hospital population. As it was a new organizational frame for traditional medicine, we tried to analyze the changes of Korean medicine hospitals coping with institutional environment and their relative positioning in the whole health care sector. Methods: On the basis of Scott and his colleagues' identification of the three components of institutional environments, changes in organizational logics, actors, and governance of Korean medicine hospitals during the period from 1971 to 2010 were analyzed. Results: First, Similar to previous literature on institutional eras of Korean health sector, three distinct periods were characterized: the foundation of Korean medicine hospitals to consolidate the legal status(1971~1986), a rapid increase of entrepreneurial hospitals through cultural-cognitive legitimacy(1987~2001), and the reinforcement of specialization and competition(2002~present). Conclusions: Results suggested that: (1) changes in institutional environments hada heavy impact on structural and behavioral changes among Korean medicine hospitals, but the pace was slower than that of western medicine hospitals. (2) In structure, Korean medicine hospitals have positioned themselves as unofficial long-term care hospitals, focusing on chronic diseases(e.g. cerebrovascular disease). Our study demonstrated that organizational theories can provide useful framework for the analysis of Korean medicine and related policies. Indeed, one of the most important implications of this study is that understanding changes in institutional environments is important to understand the process of how members of the health care sector live, grow, change, decline and survive.

  • According to the change in media environment, a support plan for local broadcast has been required. In terms of legal and institutional support for the development of local broadcast, the enactment of special Act for local broadcast has become a breakthrough. In this point of view, we analyzed the performance and the limitation of the special Act. As a literature research, analyzing the literature and related-ordinances, we have sought legal and institutional support plans for the local broadcast. As a result, with the Local Broadcast Development Council being in charge of legislative right and responsibility, a plan to empower them to have legal and institutional authority should be drawn; another plan to secure independence in operating a fund and to promote the capability to produce local broadcast programs and the distribution system should be drawn; the other elaborate plan for the locality index that assesses the locality is required. Local broadcast should be on a way to secure not only public interest and concern but locality and diversity; legal and institutional plans should be sought.

  • The purpose of our study was investigation for the status of eye health in Taejon area. I chose the age of eight to under eighteen 61 institutional care children, and I examed the first visual acuity examination ophthalmoscopy and non-criterion interview. Among 61 institutional care children (primary school student 40.98%, secondary school student 59.01%), 56.74% children were emmetropia, 44.46% were ametropia. Unaided visual acuity 0.7, 0.8 were 37.03% of these children. As refractive errors, 31.14% were myopia. 26.23% were compound myopic astigmatism and only 1.64% institutional care children wearing the glasses. In children, early eye examination is essential for their eye health. Therefore attention to early eye examination and wearing correct glasses seem to be very important especially for institutional care children. I propose that we have to concerned about eye health and concrete plan for institutional care children.
