This res arch was conducted to identify a suitable location for an inland logistics complex in Gangwon Province, South Korea and it aims use competitive factors to derive implications from the logistics competitiveness of Gangwon Province. According to Origin-Destination analysis, the most suitable and desirable site for creating the complex was found to be in the Wonju city area. A total of 28 variable were derived through prior study in order to identify the competition factors for the inland logistics complex, As a result of exploratory factor analysis, a total of 16 subfactors were reclassified into four main factors. Analytic hierarchy process(AHP) analysis showed that 'accessibility factors' (0.374) ranked highest in terms of importance, followed by 'reliability factors' (0.358), 'operability factors' (0.166), and 'government policy factors' (0.102). In each category, delivery of goods from the inland logistics complex base to the demand site was found to be the most important factor (0.160).

The Korean government has been working to reduce national logistics costs since the early 1990s. One of the major plans instituted by the government was to build five complex freight terminals using ICDs(inland container depots) as hub inland terminals. This paper explains the process and the methods adopted for site selection, with special focus on the Youngnam Freight Terminal. Among nineteen developable sites in Youngnam region, four candidates were selected based on the Map Overlay Approach under several criteria, including land acquisition costs, proximity to major highways and railroads, suitability of the terrain, etc. In this study, we used the AHP to select the best site among the four sites.

The purpose of this paper is to study on the third party logistics service enforcement of inland container depot at Pusan area. The main results of this paper are as follows: First, the inland container depot related to location selecting factor researches analyzed and korean TPL market reviewed. Second, the TPL service function reinforcement method and investments are mentioned. In detail the 9 factors are as follows: competitive high position and improvements of harbor back complex, ICD goods enterprise investment strategies, the harbor back which is inexpensive only the rent, taxes benefit and incentive, site security and base facility expansion, the goods service provision which is flexible, connection plan construction of goods enterprise, the incentive strategic establishment which is discriminated, the marketing activity which is long-term. and lastly the ICD and TPL Policy are needed that government and logistic enterprise's cooperation gains competitive advantage.

Road transportation accounts for the largest share of cargo transport in Korea. Inland transportation is not only the beginning and completion point of container transportation, but it is also very complex and has many workers. The main job of container drivers, who play a key role in inland logistics, is to transport containers from ports and terminals to destinations. However, in addition to the main role, various container management obligations, such as cleaning containers and managing damaged containers during the transportation process, are implicitly transferred to container drivers. However, little research has been conducted on this issue. This study identified the working environment of container drivers and empirically analyzed the current status of container management responsibilities by drivers. Furthermore, it analyzed whether there was a difference in the degree of container management requirements by shipping company, terminal, and shipper. Differences in requirements for region(Busan, Kwangyang, Pohang) were analyzed, and improvement measures for the problem of transferring container management were also presented.

To strengthen the nation's logistics infrastructure, the government will also look into constructing inland freight bases in the country's five major regions-the Seoul metropolitan area, Busan region, Honam region(North and South Jeolla provinces), central region(North and South Chungcheong and Gangwon provinces) and the Youngnam region(North and South Gyeongsang provinces). In the years ahead, the construction industry will be challenged by increasingly difficult and complex problems in both engineering and management . Domestic construction industry usually accounts for the range of 10percent of a gross domestic products(GDP) in Korea. The retardations of construction periods in numerous construction works which are caused by the short supply of building materials and laborers have been coming out as a social problem in the country.
