  • In this paper, It is performing to the elastic and elasto-plastic large deformation series analysis using a numerical method for the initial deflection effect of the aluminum alloy rectangular plate in the elasto-plastic loading area patch loading size. It is assumed a boundary condition to be a simply supported condition and consider the initial deflection amplitude, aspect ratio. It examined the critical elastic buckling load and post-buckling behaviour of aluminium alloy A6082-T6 rectangular plate. It used a commercial program for the elastic and elasto-plastic deformation series analysis. If the initial deflection amplitude is smaller, the in-plane rigidity with increasing to load is reduced from the start and occurs significantly more increasing the amplitude. More higher the aspect ratio, the initial yield strength is gradually decreased, and the plate thickness thicker and occurs larger than the thin walled plate a reduction ratio of the initial yield strength of the patch loading size as 0.5.

  • The objective of this paper is to develop a size-dependent nonlinear model of beams for fluid-conveying nanotubes with an initial deflection. The nonlinear frequency response of the nanotube is analysed via an Euler-Bernoulli model. Size influences on the behaviour of the nanosystem are described utilising the nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT). Relative motions at the inner wall of the nanotube is taken into consideration via Beskok-Karniadakis model. Formulating kinetic and elastic energies and then employing Hamilton's approach, the nonlinear motion equations are derived. Furthermore, Galerkin's approach is employed for discretisation, and then a continuation scheme is developed for obtaining numerical results. It is observed that an initial deflection significantly alters the frequency response of NSGT nanotubes conveying fluid. For small initial deflections, a hardening nonlinearity is found whereas a softening-hardening nonlinearity is observed for large initial deflections.

  • This paper represents an electrostatic micro plate resonator which consists of a rigid plate suspended with four bridges and a counter electrode. The bridges of the resonator are designed corrugated so that the residual stress are released. The FEM simulation results confirmed that the deflection characteristic of the corrugated bridge is hardly affected by the initial residual tensile stress. One resonator with the corrugated bridges and the other with the flat bridges were fabricated by the boron diffusion process and the anisotropic etch process. The vertical deflection of the fabricated electrostatic resonator was measured with a laser vibrometer, and the data were compared with the calculation results. The deflection of the resonator with the flat bridges is smaller than the deflection of that with the corrugated ones because of the residual stress. The residual stress release effect was confirmed by the fact that the measured deflection of the resonator with the corrugated bridges in close to the calculated deflection of the resonator with the flat ones with the initial stress neglected.

  • Springback for the three point bending is anlayzed and experimented. Neutral axis is assumed to remain at the midthickness for large ratio of radius of curvature to thickness. Pure bending theory is used to be extended to the analysis of the springback for three point bending. The specimen is thought to be divided into numerous small elements. The theory for pure bending is then adopted for analysis of each element to obtain springback in terms of the relationship between initial and final deflections. the boundary conditions between neighborhood elements are the deflection and slope which should be the same. Deflection is calculated by summing up the deflections of each element. Experiments have been performed for different conditions which are punch radius, span length, and initial deflections. Comparisons between the analytical solution and experimental results show the same trends.

  • For the purpose of obtaining fundamental data which is needed to develope combustion system of LPG engine, we made constant volume chamber and analyzed flame propagation characteristics under different intial temperature, initial pressure and equivalence ratio which affect combustion of LPG. We investigated flame propagation speed of each fuel using laser deflection method and compared with the investigated flame propagation speed of each fuel using laser deflection method and compared with the results of image processing of flame. As a result, the maximum flame propagation speed was found at equivalence ratio 1.0 and 1.1 for LPG and gasoline, respectively. In the lean region, we can see that flame propagation speed of LPG surpasses that of gasoline. On the contrary, flame propagation speed of gasoline surpasses LPG in the rich region. As initial temperature and initial pressure were higher, flame propagation speed was faster. And, as equivalence ratio was larger and initial temperature was higher, combustion duration was shorter and maximum combustion pressure was higher.

  • Recently, High Tensile Steel is adapt to thin plate on the steel structure and marine structure is used widely, It is possible for buckling happens great. Specially, Initial deflection of ship structure happens in place absence necessarily by heat processing of welding or cutting etc. This Initial Deflection is exerted negative impact when thin plate absence complicated nonlinear behaviour accompanied secondary budding. As a result, must idealize initial deflection that occurrence is possible to endow stability and accuracy in the hull structure or marine structure and reflect in early structure design considering secondary buckling. Longi direction of compressive load interacts and analyzed finite element series analysis that apply various kinds initial deflection shape measured actually on occasion that is arranged simply supported condition in this research. • This paper deals whth the buckling as well as postbuckling analysis of axisymmertric shells taking the initial deflection effects into account. Incremental equilibrium equations, based on the principle of virtual work, were derived by the finite element method, the successive step-by-step Newton-Raphson iterative technique was adopted. To define the transition pattern of postbuckling behavior from the prebuckling state more accurately, a simple solution method was developed, i.e. the critical load was calculated by the load extrapolation method with the determinant of tangent stiffness matrix and the equilibrium configuration in the immediate postbuckling stage was obtained by perturbation scheme and eigenvalue analysis. Degenerated isoparametric shell elements were used to analyse the axisymmetric shell of revolution. And by the method developed in this paper, the computer program applicable to the nonlinear analysis of both thin and moderately thick shells was constructed. To verify the capabilities and accuracies of the present solution method, the computed results were compared with the results of analytical solutions. These results coincided fairly well in both the small deflection and large deflection ranges. Various numerical analyses were done to show the effect of initial deflection and shape of shells on buckling load and postbuckling behavior. Futhermore, corrected directions of applied loads at every increment steps were used to determine the actual effects of large deflection in non-conservative load systems such as hydrostatic pressure load. The following conclusions can be obtained. (1) The method described in this paper was found to be both economic and effective in calculating buckling load and postbuckling behavior of shell structure. (2) Buckling and postbuckling behavior of spherical caps is critically dependent upon their geometric configuration, i.e. the shape of spherical cap and quantities of the initial deflection. (3) In the analysis of large deflection problems of shells by the incremental method, corrections of the applied load directions are needed at every incremental step to compensate the follower force effects.

  • In this paper a analysis method is presented to obtain the steady state dynamic response from the finite element based equations of a rotor-bearing system with initial deflection. The method has been applied to analyze the dynamic response of the two-shaft rotor-bearing system with rigid coupling offset in a heavy duty gas turbine-generator. Bumps in the dynamic response of each rotor system have been observed at each critical speed due to the effect of initial deflection for rigid coupling offset. And, the dynamic responses have been shown to reduce for operating condition changes from cold to hot.

  • In order to perform a detailed analysis of large deflection behaviour of a rectangular plate, an efficient semi-analytical method is developed in this paper. The method is called Incremental Galerkin Method. This method is successfully applied to plates with initial deflection subjected to in-plane and out-of-plane loads to obtain the whole histories of the behaviour of these plates. Application of this method to rectangular plates with initial deflection is presented. Comparisons of results obtained by this method with those obtained by other methods are made and the validity of the method is demonstrated.

  • A circular plate kept zero initial temperature is heated for a certain interval of time over a concentric circular region of the upper face. Deflection is obtained by using Laplace transform technique. Taking the plate material to be aluminium, central deflection is obtained for several values of time and the results shown graphically.
