  • Laundery detergent ingestions are generally considered to have minor consequences. But some detergent ingestions have severe consequences. Unlike household bleaches contain sodium hypochlorite, bleaching agents that contain sodium carbonate have the potential to cause significant mucosal damage to the gastrointestinal tract if ingested. Especially, when ingested in solid form of Sodium carbonate, corrosive injury is much heavier. Therefore, patient who ingest sodium carbonate peroxyhydrate need more intensive management than patient who ingest other bleaches. We experienced a case of serious caustic injury after ingestion of Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate. We report this case with review of literature.

  • 본 논문에서는 4K 플랫폼 인제스트(Ingest) 서버 시스템에서 영상처리 하드웨어 장치와 서버간의 커널 인터페이스를 지원하기 위한 PCIe 디바이스 드라이버의 구조를 설계 및 구현하였다. 제안하는 디바이스 드라이버 아키텍처는 동작하는 프로세스의 특성에 따라 크게 3개의 계층으로 분리하여 독립적인 PCIe 인터페이스 제어와 영상처리 하드웨어의 실시간 데이터 연산처리가 가능하도록 설계하였고, 병렬처리 방식으로 PCIe 디바이스를 제어함으로써 복수의 영상처리 장치에 대한 지연 현상이 발생하지 않도록 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 디바이스 드라이버의 아키텍처를 구현한 결과 효율적인 영상처리 장치 제어를 통해 4K 플랫폼의 콘텐츠를 실시간으로 획득 및 저장, 전송하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Comparative Analysis on Digital Curation Process in Foreign Academic Libraries (외국 대학도서관의 디지털 큐레이션 프로세스 비교분석)

  • This study analyzed the digital curation process targeting the foreign 10 university libraries for the efficient utilization of the research data. The analysis was conducted by dividing into 4 parts such as the selection and ingest of data, preservation, access and use, responsibilities and management. The results indicated that research data for selection and ingest include data produced by the faculty members or can be accessible in the university or research institution. The findings also showed that the institutions use Dublin Core, MODS, and PREMIS as a metadata for preservation. In the aspect of approach and use, regulation are decided based on the law and agreement. And in the aspect of responsibility and management, most elements are divided into the management, financial, technical, physical, and personal parts and each audit or sustainability is reviewed.

  • Asian countries including Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Philippines are endemic area of Paragonimiasis as people who live those countries have special diet habbit to ingest raw fish and meat. Of the Paragonimus westermani infestation, mediastinal paragonimiasis is a rare condition because of its life cycle. We experienced a case of mediastinal parasitic cyst resected under video-thoracoscopy, which was confirmed as paragonimiasis granuloma postoperativley.

  • Children tend to ingest foreign bodies. The majority present in children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years. We experienced 2 cases of unusual gastrointestinal complications caused by ingested foreign bodies. First case was a 10-month-old male with intestinal perforation due to two pieces of ingested magnetic heads. Second case was a 7-month-old girl with esophageal stricture due to an ingested particle of plastic toy.

A Study on Seafoods Ingestion of High School Students and Preference -Focusing on Chungnam Region- (고등학생의 수산물 섭취 실태와 기호도에 관한 조사 -충남 지역을 중심으로-)

  • This study is aimed at examining the status of seafoods intake and preference to actively use the seafoods with high nutritional values and preference. For this purpose, this study conducted a questionnaire survey. The demographic features of the respondents are as follows: male and female high school students were 50%, respectively; first graders were 33.3%, second graders were 35.0% and third graders are 31.7%; the primary dietary-care giver was mother in 80% of the respondents. The survey results on seafood intake at home showed that the most frequently responses to the question of the degree of liking seafood were 'on average' and 'like it', respectively in order. The reason for preferring seafood is 'because it tastes good' in 43.7% of the respondents. Both male and female respondents answered they like seafood for its good taste. With respect to the degree of preference for the seafood provided from the school meals, there were more students who like it than those who do not like it. The most frequent reason to ingest seafood in the school meals is because 'I want to eat it' followed by 'because parents push', 'because friends eat it', 'because health-related TV programs recommend it', respectively in order. The most preferred seafood in the school meals was fried shrimp and the most disliked one is the boiled warty sea squirt. The above results collectively suggest that the preference level for seafood is low and the most preferred one is fried seafood. It is suggested that the nutritionists need to actively develop menu for the students to ingest more various seafoods.

  • In this paper, we describe the configuration of the KITSAT-3 image data receiving, archiving, processing and distribution system in operation. Following the low-cost and software-based design concept, the whole system is composed of three PCs : two for data receiving, archiving and processing which provide a full dual-redundant configuration and one for image catalog browsing which can be accessed by public users. Except that receiving and archiving PCs have serial data ingest boards plugged in, they are configured by general peripherals. This basic and simple hardware configuration made it possible to show that a very low cost system can support a full ground operation for the utilization of high-resolution satellite image data.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the preference of Korean traditional food and kimchi among different age groups in order to find a way to increase kimchi consumption. For this study, data from 15 male respondents(5.2%) and 271 female respondents(94.8%) was used. Age distribution of total respondents were in their 20's(21.8%), 30's(32.7%), 40's(32.7%) and 50's(11.6%), which showed the rate of 40's was very high. Most of the groups showed similar rates over the question on "have to eat kimchi" and "don't need to eat kimchi", but the elders' preference was high while the youngers' was relatively low. Therefore, the preference of kimchi has a small gap between the age groups, but all of them like kimchi in general.

Nitrate and Chlorophyll Contents in Organically Cultivated Chinese Cabbages

  • An average Korean known to ingest 3.4 times of the nitrate ADI level are found to have taken in 97% of nitrates through vegetables. This study analyzed the contents of nitrates and chlorophyll in organic Chinese cabbages, a major favorite vegetable for Koreans, with a view to lowering daily intake of nitrate. Our findings show that, in organically cultivated cabbages, the further outward the leaf was located, the more significantly the contents of nitrates increased, with the midrib and leaf blade showing positive relationship of $r=0.789^{**}$, and $r=0.659^{**}$, respectively. In the case of the midrib, the contents increased as high as 79 times ranging from 40ppm for the innermost leaf to 3, 177ppm for the outermost one, and when it comes to the leaf blade, the contents rose as high as 87 times, showing a range of 40 ~ 3,481ppm. Our findings also suggest that it is advisable to discard 1/3 of the outermost leaves before eating Chinese cabbages, since the outer leaves with known high contents of chlorophyll also have high contents of nitrates.

  • In this paper, a brief overview on data assimilation is provided in the context of oceanographic application. The ocean data assimilation needs to ingest various types of data such as satellites and floats, thus essentially requires dynamically-consistent assimilation methods. For such purpose, sequential and variational approaches are discussed and compared. The major advantage of the Kalman filter (KF) is that it can forecast error covariances at each time step. However, for models with very large dimension of state vector, the KF Is exceedingly expensive and computationally less efficient than four-dimensional variational assimilation (4D-Var). For operational application, simplified 4D-Var schemes as well as ensemble KF may be considered.
