수동 역률 보상회로를 이용한 LED 센서등 회로의 개발 (Development of LED sensor lights circuit by passive power factor correction circuit)

  • In this paper, We studied LED(Light Emitted Diode) sensor lights system using PIR(Pyroelectric Infrared Ray) sensor, CdS and MCU(Micro Controller Unit). And applied the valley fill circuit to improve the power factor. We designed the amplifier for each sensor and the LED driver for constant current which is the buck converter. Also, we proposed the algorithm of LED control by each sensors using MCU. Experimental results showed that power factor is 92% with valley fill circuit.

  • This paper introduces a dynamic walking control of biped walking robot using intelligent sensor interface and shows an intelligent control method for biped walking robot. For the dynamic walking control of biped walking robot, serious motion controllers are used. They are main controller(using INTEL80C296SA MPU), sub controller(using TMS320LF2406 DSP), sensor controller(using Atmega128 MPU) etc. The used sensors are gyro sensor, tilt sensor, infrared sensor, FSR sensor etc. For the feasibility of a dynamic walking control of biped walking robot, we use the biped walking robot which has twenty-five degrees of freedom(D.O.F.) in total. Our biped robot is composed of two legs of six D.O.F. each, two arms of five D.O.F. each, a waist of two D.O.F., a head of one D.O.F.

  • This paper presents the results of a series of performance tests for the Stilting cryocooler. A free piston and free displacer(FPFD) Stilting cryocooler for cooling infrared and cryo-sensors is currently under development at KIMM. Our coolers are specifically designed to work in the thermal imaging device and to meet requirements such as cooling capacity, COP and high reliability. In this work, Stilting cryocooler is designed, manufactured and fabricated, and performance characteristics for the cooling capacity / applied input power and cool down time are investigated. This cooler delivers approximately 0.9W cooling at 80K for 30W ~ 40W of input power. And, It takes approximately 2 minutes to cool down to 80K at the ambient temperature of 23$^{\circ}C$.

  • This paper presents the results of a series of performance tests for the Stilting cryocooler. In this work, Stilting cryocooler is designed, manufactured and fabricated, and performance characteristics for the vibration, acoustic noise, EMI and leak rate are evaluated. Vibration outputs are measured to 20KHz for compressor and expander, respectively. And, the objective of noise test is a noise level, less than 30㏈ at 5 m. EMI tests are carried out according to the standard MIL-STD-461C tests RE01 and RE02. Leak test for the Stilting cryocooler is performed by bombing method.

  • In this paper, we propose a new obstacle negotiation method for the rescue robot. The rescue robot has a variable geometry single-tracked mechanism, so it can maximize a contact length with ground for the adaptability to off-road and pursue a stable system due to the lower center of gravity. In this research, we add the basis of autonomous navigation, driving mode control based on obstacle detection, to the robot to realize automation of mode transformation. Obstacle detection using PSD(Position Sensitive Device) infrared sensors gives active transformation of the track shape. Finally, experimental results about mentioned are presented.

환경모니터링 센서가 집적된 LED 조명용 광학시트 제작 (Fabrication of Optical Sheet for LED Lighting with Integrated Environment Monitoring Sensors)

  • In this paper, we developed an optical sheet for LED lighting with integrated $CO_2$ gas and temperature sensor which can monitor at the indoor environment. The optical sheet for LED lighting is fabricated through PMMA(Polymethyl methacrylate) injection process using mold. This research enables to fabricate the reflective sheet, light-guide plate and the prism sheet in a optical sheet. The fabricated sheet demonstrates higher intensity of optical efficiency compared with single-sided sheets. The $CO_2$ sensor was fabricated using NDIR(NON-Dispersive Infrared) method and it has $0.0235mV/V{\cdot}PPM$ sensitivity. The temperature sensor was fabricated using RTD(Resistance temperature detector) method and it has $0.563{\Omega}/^{\circ}C $sensitivity.

  • This Paper proposes a fuzzy algorithm for cooperative behaviors of multiple autonomous mobile robots. Each robot makes decision of his behavior based on the information obtained by infrared sensors to measure the position and velocities of other robots. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is shown by some computer simulation where a group of mobile robots encircles with equi-interval.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for driving line-tracer robot, considered as a kind of AGV. At first, we introduce the architecture of the line-tracer robot implemented for the experiment, and explain the driving algorithm using path information from infrared sensors. The proposed algorithm can overcome the difference between each sensor's characteristics. Finally, we make some experiments and show the performance of the algorithm in case of straight path.

  • In modern battlefield situation, radar and infrared sensors may be located on aircraft having limited computational resources available for real-time computer processing. Hence sensor images are transmitted typically to central stations for processing and automatic target recognition/detection. Owing to the limited bandwidth channels that are typically available between the aircraft and processing stations, images are compressed prior to transmission to facilitate rapid transfer. In this paper we examine the problem of compressing sensor data for transmission, given that target recognition is the end goal. Performance result shows that the front-end target recognition system achieves a relatively high level of performance as well as a high compression ratio.

  • In this paper, we propose a vision based passenger monitoring system for passenger's safety in railway station. Since 2005, Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI) has developed a vision based monitoring system, funded by Korean government, for passenger's safety in railway station. The proposed system uses various types of sensors, such as, stereo camera, thermal-camera and infrared sensor, in order to detects danger situations in platform area. Especially, detection process of the system exploits the stereo vision algorithm to improve detection accuracy. The paper describes the overall system configuration and proposed detection algorithm, and then verifies the system performance with extensive experimental results in a real station environment.
