  • Response of buildings under seismic load is different according to fundamental period. It is provided in Korean Building Code(KBC2009) seismic response coefficient by fundamental period for seismic design of buildings. Recently, many researchers have studied on fundamental period and seismic response coefficient. However, studies on seismic design using Geographic Information System(GIS) are not sufficient. Therefore, this paper has analyzed on seismic response coefficient of buildings using ArcGIS. This paper can be evaluated efficiently for seismic analysis of structures. And this study will be used as basics of a reasonable seismic design using Geographic Information Systems(GIS).

  • A Parking Guidance and Information Service System is to provide real-time parking-information and the shortest parking-path for increasing the user's convenience, relieving traffic congestion, reducing illegal parking, and maximizing the efficiency of parking management. This paper discusses the result of the needs analysis, design, and implementation of the Parking Guidance and Information Service System. Furthermore, it analyzes and compares the parking time and vehicle turnover rate before and after the system installation.

  • 본 연구는 생산-운송시스템에서 수요자와 생산시설 및 운송네트워크이 주어질 경우 최소의 비용으로 고객을 지원할 수 있는 시스템의 결정을 위한 GIS(Geographic Information System) 기반의 차량 운송시스템의 연구이다. 주요 결정 변수는 생산공장의 위치, 운송네트워크, 운영할 창고 및 재고유지수준 등이 포함된다. 본 연구에서는 다-품목 생산 및 공급문제를 비 선형문제로 정식화하고 이를 선형문제로 변환하여 정수계획문제(IP)로 해를 구하였다. 이를 위한 전산 프로그램을 개발하고 예제들을 응용하고 그 결과를 보였다.

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of post processor for Numerical control programing which prepare control paper tape of NC machine. The post processor that we developed reflects modular program design methodology to improve flexibility about variety NC machine. Also, the designed post processor is able to link with general NC system as APT(Automatically programing tools) system or general CAD/CAM system.

  • In this paper, a design of I-PDA controller by CDM to control a flow process whose structure is first order lag plus a dead time is introduced. The factor of dead time of the process is approximated by second order Pade approximation in order to get a third order system. The simulations show that both of the transient and steady state specifications can be fulfilled. However, the transient response of the I-PDA control system still has long rise time. Then, a feedforward controller (FFC) with two adjustable parameters and one derivative time is introduced into I-PDA control system for improving the speed of the system response. It is shown, from the simulation results, that the performance of the I-PDA control system with suitable FFC has shorter rise time and no overshoot, while settling time remains almost the same. The performance comparison of the proposed control system with the PI control system with and without FFC is also made.

  • Rapid developments of industry and economics have made a metropolis which demands an effective urban transport management system (UTMS). Specially, this paper considers a subway surveillance system based on integrated wireless LAN technologies for public safety. Since a current subway platform security entirely relies on conventional closed circuit television camera (CCTV) or human operators, subway train drivers cannot detect platform states and cope with abnormal situations or accidents immediately. However, through the IP cameras and some wireless routers, high qualify images of the platform conditions can be directly delivered to the train drivers and other station employees in advance of train entering the platform. In this paper, several design issues and problems are discussed when building up the subway management system. Further, we illustrate a system model with the system requirements in real parametric values in order to draw concrete system designs and to realize a practical implementation of the future UTMS.

  • In China, the traditional method of artificial and periodical cruise is still adopted for the AtoN management, which has brought many disadvantages to the work of the AtoN management, such as non real-time, fallibility, and low efficiency However, with the rapid development of AIS technique, now AIS equipments have been widely installed on ships, and on the other hand China Maritime Safety Administration (abr. China MSA) is carrying out the scheme of AIS base station network in china, based on which the digital AtoN will develop in the future. According to what have been analyzed above, this paper puts forward a design of AtoN wireless surveillance system based on AIS. The system consists of AIS on AtoN, AIS base station and AtoN management center. It can provide such functions as the information gathering, managing of AtoN and the service of navigation assistance. This paper gives the whole design including the work theory, the hardware structure and the software scheme of the system, and finally gives the simulation software of the AtoN management center. The AtoN wireless surveillance system brought forward by this paper will be more efficient with less repair cost and less work of the supervisors. It will bring revolutionary progress in the navigation aids system in China.

  • In this work, a robot aimed at grapping and delivering an object by using a simple finger-pointing command from a hand- or arm-handicapped person is introduced. In this robot system, a Leap Motion sensor is utilized to obtain the finger-motion data of the user. In addition, a Kinect sensor is also used to measure the 3D (Three Dimensional)-position information of the desired object. Once the object is pointed at through the finger pointing of the handicapped user, the exact 3D information of the object is determined using an image processing technique and a coordinate transformation between the Leap Motion and Kinect sensors. It was found that the information obtained is transmitted to the robot controller, and that the robot eventually grabs the target and delivers it to the handicapped person successfully.

  • The wideband DS-CDMA (W-CDMA) system is one of the candidates for the next generation mobile communication system known as IMT-2000. The important concept of W-CDMA is the introduction of intercell asynchronous operation. In this paper, we design and analyze the system level simulator for the International Mobile Tele communication - 2000 (IMT-2000) 3-rd generation partnership project (3GPP) system. We confirm how the simulator works by BER over different Eb/NO. This study will be expected to use as reference data in the development of asynchronous IMT-2000. In this paper, we analyze a physical layer of W-CDMA system and design a transmitter and receiver by using ADS (Advanced Design System). Also, we simulated a link level performance in Rayleigh fading channel environment. This study will be useful in the analysis and design of W-CDMA system.

Development of the 3D parametric modeling system for transmission gears of tractor (트랙터 변속장치 기어의 3차원 파라매트릭 설계 및 분석)

  • This paper describes a three dimensional parametric modeling system for transmission gears of tractor. In conventional design and manufacturing, information about three dimensional shapes has been described in engineering drawings. However drawing based design presents several problems; 1) communication errors between the designer and the modeller or manufacturer. 2) time taken and costs incurred in the design process. To solve these problems the system of parametric design based modeling has been proposed. Developed system in this paper consists of four steps; 1) parametric design of transmission gears with a solid modeler. 2) evaluation of gear geometry and strength. 3) dynamic simulation for gear interference check. 4) gear stress analysis with a CAE software. The proposed system has been tested in the fields and found to be a useful system.
