Injection molding has been widely used in producing plastic parts in large quantities. However, its productivity mainly depends on the expertise and experience of skilled workers because of the difficulty and complexity to determine a robust injection molding condition which is not influenced by the minor operational variation of an injection molding machine and produces good parts continuously. This study analyzes the defect types of the parts and proposes a support system to assist users in determining the robust process condition. The support system calculates the start condition from the information of an injection mold, the injection molding machine, the resin used, and the part. Through the iterative step which updates the condition using the defect information of the part tested, users can obtain the initial condition which produces the part without any problem for the first time. The support system also assists users in obtaining the robust condition from the initial condition using the technique of experimental design. To prove the validity of the support system, this study implements it in the control panel of the injection molding machine.

The purpose of the weapon live test during the phase of development is to provide essential information to decision makers that verify and validate the performance capabilities of weapons. Due to varying allocation and high variance of test resources with an increase in the weapon system's capability, the test environment can get highly complex, which can lead to a decrease in the reliability of test results. This issue can be addressed by applying a decision support system that provides various timely information collected by resources during the test process. The decision support system can be designed by applying the concept of digital twins, that are defined as digital replicas of components, systems and processes. This paper describes a design methodology of the decision support system that consists of digital models and service functions using digital twin architecture. A case study illustrates the feasibility of the proposed methodology in supporting the weapon live test process.

Due to the rapid growth of Internet, means of communication with customers in a traditional customer support environment such as telephone calls are being replaced by mainly e-mail in a Web-based customer support system. Although such a Web-based support is efficient and promises potential benefits for firms, including reduced transaction costs, reduced time, and high quality of support, there are some difficulties associated with responding to many types of customer's inbound e-mails appropriately. As many types of e-mail are received, considerable attention is being paid to methods for increasing the efficiency of managing and responding e-mails. This research proposes an intelligent system for managing customer's inbound e-mails in organizations by applying case based reasoning technique for responding to various customers' inbound e-mails more effectively. In this approach, a case is represented as a frame-typed data structure corresponding to an inbound e-mail, keywords, and its reply e-mail. In the retrieval procedure, keywords and affinity set is developed to index a case, and then the case is represented as a vector, a case vector. Also, cosines value is calculated to measure the similarity between a new inbound e-mail and the cases in the case base. In the adaptation procedure, we provide several adaptation strategies to adapt and modify the retrieved case. The strategies guide to make an outbound e-mail using product databases, databases for customer support, etc. Additionally, the Web-based system architecture is proposed to implement our methodology. The proposed methodology and system will be helpful for developing more efficient Web-based customer support.

The main factors of radar signals used in electronic warfare are Radio Frequency(RF), Pulse Repetition Interval(PRI), Pulse Width(PW), Scan Parameter(SP) and so on. This radar signals may have some important information for the electronic warfare. So, there is a necessity for making a threat database to decide whether the radar signal is a threat or not. When the electronic support system collects some threat radar signals, it needs the search band to control the receivers and filter banks of the system. In this paper we propose search band implementation considering the type and center frequency of the receivers of the electronic support system.

Purpose: This study is addressing the establishment of the knowledge information system supplying the quality management of weapon system. It is going to support the continuous quality management through the linkages and integration between the product structure and the quality information. Methods: The interrelated relationship of the product structure information and quality information of weapon system would be expressed explicitly by taking advantage of the ontology concept. The quality information of distributed systems would be integrated through the SOA(Service Oriented Architecture)-based Web services. After defining the inference rules, which could be utilized in the quality management, in the constructed knowledge information system, the quality information would be inferred through the queries. Results: By building the integrated quality information knowledge system through the ontology and SOA, the connectivity between the product structures and dispersed quality information was enhanced. The utility and applicability of this study were checked up through the inferences on the products and quality information by using the information built by the semantic relationship of facts. Conclusion: We established the knowledge and information system as a systematic approach to support the quality management of weapon system. This is not affected by the organizations and systems, and it seems that it could be utilized across the quality management as the efficient knowledge sharing architecture supporting the quality management of weapon systems in the aspect of the product integration.

본 논문은 HELPS라는 반도체 검사 장비를 위한 전자성능지원시스템(Electronic Performance Support System)에 대하여 기술한다. 본 시스템의 목적은 운영 지원, 훈련, 지식 기반 고장 진단 및 수리를 위한 just-in time. on-the-job 멀티미디어에 기반을 둔 정보를 제공함으로써 오퍼레이터의 생산성을 향상시키는데 있다. HELPS는 운영 모듈과 고장 진단 모듈로 구성되어 있다. 운영 모듈은 사용자에게 장비에 관한 자세하고 쉽게 접근이 가능한 정보를 제공하기 위하여 멀티미디어와 하이퍼미디어를 사용한다. 멀티미디어는 정지 화상, 동화상, 에니메이션, 텍스트, 그래픽, 오디오를 포함하는 다매체 형식을 통합한다. 하이 퍼미디어는 계층적인 정보 구조를 통하여 숙련된 오퍼레이터에게는 작업을 수행하는데 필요한 특정한 정보만을 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 초보 오퍼레이터에게는 자세한 시스템 안내와 정보를 제공한다. 고장 진단 모듈은 오퍼레이터가 장비의 고장을 진단하고 수리하는 것을 자원하기 위하여 전문가 시스템과 멀티미디어를 통합하여 구성하였다. 전문가 시스템을 사용하여 진단한 다음, 멀티미디어에 의한 어드바이스가 텍스트를 포함한 정지 화상이나 음성을 포함한 동화상에 의해 제시된다. HELPS는 훈련 시간과 고장 진단 및 수리 시간의 측면에서 평가되었고, 본 시스템 사용 전에 비하여 약 30%이상의 시간을 절감함으로써 생산성 향상에 크게 도움이 된다는 것을 확인하였다. 앞으로 본 시스템은 ICAI와 가상현실 기법 등을 이용하여 확장된다면 더 많은 생산성 향상을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

Decision Support System(DSS) is an advanced information system concept prevailing since 1980s. It supports managers' decision making activities by providing not only information but decision alternatives. It essentially consists of the components of database, modelbase and dialogue systems. With the development of its databases, POSCO needs a number of modelbases in establishing DSSs in various areas such as production planning and investment. This research particularly focuses on establishment of a mid-and long-range investment DSS and investigates the necessity and the problems of an investment DSS and the decision criteria for investment priority. We (1) propose a modelbase which uses the concepts of Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and Zero-Base Budgeting(ZBB), along with an appropriate scoring method, database and dialogue system to support the investment manager in evaluating investment proposals ; (2) implement the system using relational database management system ; and (3) discuss the results of implementing the investment DSS.

The Information System is now becoming a very important part of our livers. It encompasses technical and spactial characteristics that are much more different from the order information systems used up until now. Therefore, as various fields within the Information Center are researched, the proper usage of those fields must be well thought-out. This study presents the application of quality management systems in Library, Korea. The purpose of this study is to build a framework of improving the management system and planning and performing the service of high quality in Library. To achieve this goal, a theoretical approach was tried through the previous study and the performed with the subject of the 4 steps by Damming' quality management theory. This study may enable domestic organizations to draw up a concrete and practical plan in Library.

The objective of this study is to design the technical information system for naval engineering (named TISNE). As the basic concept of the system, CALS (Continuous Acquisition and Life-cycle Support) and KMS(Knowledge Management System) were considered for the management and sharing of standardized digital information throughout the life-cycle of naval ship. To define the system components and their functionalities, the processes of naval ship design and construction were reviewed. Also web-based system prototype and the graphical user interlaces were designed and implemented.
