  • Digital literacy is an important factor in the discourses on the knowledge sharing on the campus. This article analyzed the impact of digital literacy of knowledge-sharing capabilities in the university. As a result, digital literacy was found to significantly affect student knowledge-sharing capabilities in the university studied. Results show that video and animation literacy is the most influential factor and image literacy is the second-most influential factor for student knowledge-sharing. Those results can be used as a framework for developing digital literacy program.

  • Radio frequency identification (RFID) is an established technology and has the potential, in a variety of applications, to significantly reduce cost and improve performance. As RFID-enabled applications will fulfill similar tasks across a range of processes adapted to use the data gained from RFID tags, they can be considered as software products derived from a common infrastructure and assets that capture specific ions in the domain. This paper discusses a framework that supports the development of RFID-enabled applications based on a business process family model (BPFM), explicitly representing both commonalities and variabilities. To develop this framework, common activities are identified from RFID-enabled applications and the variabilities in the common activities are analyzed in detail using variation point concepts. Through this framework, RFID data is preprocessed, and thus, RFID-enabled applications can be developed without having to process RFID data. Sharing a common model and reusing assets to deploy recurrent services may be considered an advantage in terms of economic significance and the overall product quality afforded.

  • Although there have been a lot of BIM R&Ds in the civil engineering and their applications to the real projects, BIM in the field is still known to be behind the other areas. One of the reasons for this should be that the civil projects is generally too public for private participants to try new technologies, but it is mainly because the projects are so huge and complex that we still have the working environment where the systematic information sharing or exchanging is not smooth enough. In this paper, we are verifying the possibility and proposing the direction of BIM information standardization technology in civil engineering based on the integrated BIM information standard framework. For this purpose, after reviewing the introduction plan for BIM information framework, we applied it to an actual civil structure for test. The implementation result proved that the framework has possibility and effectiveness for the takeoff and construction cost calculation, which confirmed the standard framework needs to be extended consistently. This study is expected to contribute to the standard system establishment and its technology propagation for BIM development in the civil engineering.

  • Identity authentication sharing technologies which allow many service providers to share the result of identity authentication of an identity provider receive high attention as alternatives for current problematic identity authentications in the next-generation Internet environment, since they can provide crucial advantages including high usability, cost effectiveness of service providers, and privacy protection. However, in order for the identity authentication sharing technologies to be widely deployed in global Internet scale, the interoperability problem among different identity authentication sharing protocols and the trustworthiness issue among the participating identity providers, service providers, and users should be resolved in advance. This paper firstly analyzes current status of the protocol interoperability issue and existing trust frameworks for identity authentication sharing. And then, based on the result of analysis, this paper proposes a next generation identity authentication sharing architecture for global Internet.

  • In the era of Web 2.0, social media advertising can simultaneously stimulate consumers' brand purchase intention and brand information sharing intention. Product sales and brand information diffusion are equally important for a company that conducts advertising. This study investigates how features of brand content influence social media advertising effectiveness by integrating the stimulus-organism-response model and classic advertising effectiveness models. An analysis of 267 survey questionnaires shows that brand content-related cues, including perceived uniqueness, perceived vividness, and perceived interactivity have significant effects on consumers' affective and cognitive involvement, which then affect their attitude toward brand content. As a result, the consumers' attitude toward the brand and their brand purchase intention, as well as their brand content sharing intention, are positively affected by attitude toward brand content. This study contributes to a better understanding of how social advertising works, which suggests that managers should effectively use social media to conduct advertising.

  • As external data have become important corporate information resources, there are growing needs to combine them with internal data. This paper proposes an ontology-based scheme to combine external data with multi-dimensional databases, which shall be called multi-dimensional event ontology. In the ontology, external data are represented as events. Event characteristics such as actors, places, times, targets are linked to dimensions of a multi-dimensional database. By mapping event characteristics to database dimensions, external event data are shared via multi-dimensional hierarchies. This paper proposes rules to synchronize information sharing in multi-dimensional event ontology such as upward event information sharing, downward event information sharing and complex event information sharing. These rules are implemented using Protege. This study has a value in suggesting Big Data information sharing processes using an event database framework.

  • In this study, we proposed a method to systematically manage research data in the field of condensed matter physics, which is the most active and interdisciplinary field. In the course of the research, a questionnaire was conducted for researchers in the field of condensed matter physics. The questionnaire was constructed based on the research data management tool Data Asset Framework (DAF) and the FAIR principle for data sharing and reuse. The current status of research data management in the field of aggregated material physics was collected from 14 researchers. The collected data consisted of data on the characteristics and basic information of researchers who answered the questionnaire, data preservation and management, and data sharing and access. By analyzing the collected questionnaire results, nine problems were drawn about the characteristics of research data in the field of aggregate material physics, data collection and production, data preservation and management, data sharing and access. In this study, suggestions were made to improve the problems derived from each aspect.

  • It is necessary to resolve the syntax, structure and semantic heterogeneity for sharing information resources. And the representative technologies are XML and Metadata. XML has been used to represent the syntax and structure, and metadata has been used to represent the semantic meaning of information resources. However, various metadata sets in one or more domains that have been developed by each independent organizations without any standards or guidelines, make it difficult to share their information resource. In this paper, we propose an interoperability framework (FSMI, Framework for Sharable Metadata Interoperability) on MDR (Metadata Registry) to increase the interoperability of XML encoded information resources between systems using different metadata sets.

  • In this paper, we design thin-client framework capable of application sharing & data access on the Internet, and apply related skills, such as X windows system, pseudo server, CODA file system, MPI(Message Passing Interface). We suggest a framework for the thin client to access data produced by working on a server optimally as well as to run server side application, even in the case of network down. Additionally, it needed to reflect all local computing changes to remote server when network is restored. To design thin client framework with these characteristics, in this paper, we apply distributed pseudo server and CODA file system to our framework, also utilize MPI for the purpose of more efficient computing & management. It allows for implementation of network independent computing environment of thin client, also provide scalable application service to numerous user through the elimination of bottleneck on caused by server overload. In this paper, we discuss the implementing method of thin client framework in detail.
