A Study on the Reliability Improvement of RFID System (RFID System의 신뢰성 향상에 관한 연구)

  • In recent years, RFID is widely used in Industrial applications including factory, material flow, logistics and defense areas. In this paper, we developed a RFID baseband system with ASK modulation and convolutional channel code. A commercial ASK RF module is used and its frequency range in $350\sim351MHz$ and power is 10mW and the convolution code is constraint length k=3 and rate R=1/2. The performance is measured by frame error rate and the convolutional code is very useful in performance improvement and, also we implemented the binary search algorithm as anti-collision method and we show the wave shapes whit collision occurrence. This RFID system is designed by FPGA therefore it produces result of speed-up and improvement of reliability.

  • In this paper, we deal with the problem of M2M gateways' network selection for different types of M2M traffic in heterogeneous wireless networks. Based on the difference in traffic's quality of service (QoS) requirements, the M2M traffic produced by various applications is mainly classified as two categories: flexible traffic and rigid traffic. Then, game theory is adopted to solve the problem of network-channel selection with the coexistence of flexible and rigid traffic, named as flexible network access (FNA). We prove the formulated discrete game is a potential game. The existence and feasibility of the Nash equilibrium (NE) of the proposed game are also analyzed. Then, an iterative algorithm based on optimal reaction criterion and a distributed algorithm with limited feedback based on learning automata are presented to obtain the NE of the proposed game. In simulations, the proposed iterative algorithm can achieve a near optimal sum utility of whole network with low complexity compared to the exhaustive search. In addition, the simulation results show that our proposed algorithms outperform existing methods in terms of sum utility and load balance.

  • Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) optimization approaches are used in indoor positioning systems for signal coverage enhancement, as well as positioning precision improvement. Although the huge power consumption of the AP optimization forms a serious problem due to the signal coverage requirement for large-scale indoor environment, the conventional approaches treat the problem of power consumption independent from the design of indoor positioning systems. This paper proposes a new Fast Water-filling algorithm Group Power Constraint (FWA-GPC) based Wi-Fi AP optimization approach for indoor positioning in which the power consumed by the AP optimization is significantly considered. This paper has three contributions. First, it is not restricted to conventional concept of one AP for one candidate AP location, but considered spare APs once the active APs break off. Second, it utilizes the concept of water-filling model from adaptive channel power allocation to calculate the number of APs for each candidate AP location by maximizing the location fingerprint discrimination. Third, it uses a fast version, namely Fast Water-filling algorithm, to search for the optimal solution efficiently. The experimental results conducted in two typical indoor Wi-Fi environments prove that the proposed FWA-GPC performs better than the conventional AP optimization approaches.

  • This paper proposes the code acquisition scheme on a MIMO channel for preamble search in a CDMA-MIMO uplink system. The multiple transmit/receive antennas are used for beamforming. The performance of a ML code acquisition technique based on transmit and receive beamforming is analyzed by considering rho detection probability. The acquisition performance and MAT for a MIMO code acquisition system are numerically evaluated. It is shown that multiple transmit antennas can give the code acquisition system a transmit beamforming gain and result in much better performance than a SIMO case.

Effects of Online Information Characteristics of Food Service Franchise on Enjoyment, Anxiety, and Visit Intention (외식프랜차이즈 기업의 온라인 정보특성이 즐거움, 불안, 방문의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - Generally, the consumer's decision-making process for restaurant selection is simple and familiar. However, online information becomes important because the decision-making process of consumers becomes complicated in new restaurants and special situations. Because consumers can search for information online, information retrieval is now possible in selecting new restaurants. In particular, consumers often make decisions based on online information when making restaurant reservations. Research design, data, and methodology - All items were measured based on previous studies. The data were collected from customers who had visited the store by visiting the web page of the food service franchise within the last 3 months for the panel of the online survey institute. The questionnaires were surveyed from July 2 to July 11, 2018 for about 10 days. A mail and a message were sent to 2,000 people, and 310 people were asked to complete the questionnaire. Total of 303 data were used in the questionnaire, excluding 7 insufficient data. Results - The findings of this study are as follows: Consensus, vividness, and neutrality have positive effects on enjoyment. Consensus have positive effect on anxiety, but vividness and neutrality did not have significant effect on anxiety. Also, enjoyment has a positive influence on intention to visit, and anxiety has a negative influence on visit intention. Conclusions - First, franchise companies online advertising in a variety of ways, but they are mixed with other customers' WOM and offered to consumers. In this case, the information provided by the company may be distorted. Therefore, a restaurant franchise company needs to operate an official online channel to provide accurate information to its customers. Second, it is necessary to make contents so that other customers can participate in online channels of food service franchise companies. Third, food service franchise company should produce enough online contents to experience indirectly even if the customer does not visit the store directly. Fourth, food service franchise company needs to prepare a way for many customers to participate in many official contents.

  • Sentiment analysis using social network platforms such as Twitter has achieved tremendous results. Twitter is an online social networking site that contains a rich amount of data. The platform is known as an information channel corresponding to different sites and categories. Tweets are most often publicly accessible with very few limitations and security options available. Twitter also has powerful tools to enhance the utility of Twitter and a powerful search system to make publicly accessible the recently posted tweets by keyword. As popular social media, Twitter has the potential for interconnectivity of information, reviews, updates, and all of which is important to engage the targeted population. In this work, numerous methods that perform a classification of tweet sentiment in Twitter is discussed. There has been a lot of work in the field of sentiment analysis of Twitter data. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the most standard and widely applicable techniques for opinion mining that are based on machine learning and lexicon-based along with their metrics. The proposed work is helpful to analyze the information in the tweets where opinions are highly unstructured, heterogeneous, and polarized positive, negative or neutral. In order to validate the performance of the proposed framework, an extensive series of experiments has been performed on the real world twitter dataset that alter to show the effectiveness of the proposed framework. This research effort also highlighted the recent challenges in the field of sentiment analysis along with the future scope of the proposed work.

A Study of Double Dark Photons Produced by Lepton Colliders using High Performance Computing

  • The universe is thought to be filled with not only Standard Model (SM) matters but also dark matters. Dark matter is thought to play a major role in its construction. However, the identity of dark matter is as yet unknown, with various search methods from astrophysical observartion to particle collider experiments. Because of the cross-section that is a thousand times smaller than SM particles, dark matter research requires a large amount of data processing. Therefore, optimization and parallelization in High Performance Computing is required. Dark matter in hypothetical hidden sector is though to be connected to dark photons which carries forces similar to photons in electromagnetism. In the recent analysis, it was studied using the decays of a dark photon at collider experiments. Based on this, we studies double dark photon decays at lepton colliders. The signal channels are e+e- → A'A' and e+e- → A'A'γ where dark photon A' decays dimuon. These signal channels are based on the theory that dark photons only decay into heavily charged leptons, which can explain the muon magnetic momentum anomaly. We scanned the cross-section according to the dark photon mass in experiments. MadGraph5 was used to generate events based on a simplified model. Additionally, to get the maximum expected number of events for the double dark photon channel, the detector efficiency for several center of mass (CM) energy were studied using Delphes and MadAnalysis5 for performance comparison. The results of this study will contribute to the search for double dark photon channels at lepton colliders.

  • IPTV(Internet Protocol Television)is the point in commercial and broadcast content from the numerous channels that are growing exponentially, Many people with mobile devices anywhere, anytime you want to use IPTV, demand will increase. Numerous channels for collecting information about EPG (Electronic Program Guide) service, IP (Internet Protoco) communications using a fast search of content for broadcast EPG is time to take advantage of the service. Using the current wired network, the Android-based IPTV services to take advantage of the EPG in the mobile environment to provide an environment being studied, and Country of the European digital broadcast standard DVB-MHP standard is followed by subsequent research and development of the EPG service is required. In this study, using the existing wired network, IPTV EPG service information of the channel in a mobile environment user-friendly as possible by providing channels for EPG service information to users quickly and easily search for content to provide an environment and Android-based mobile IPTV environment to take advantage of the EPG service channels of broadcast channels with in the EPG service for users to gather information retrieval system is proposed.

Joint Time Delay and Angle Estimation Using the Matrix Pencil Method Based on Information Reconstruction Vector

  • A single snapshot data can only provide limited amount of information so that the rank of covariance matrix is not full, which is not adopted to complete the parameter estimation directly using the traditional super-resolution method. Aiming at solving the problem, a joint time delay and angle estimation using matrix pencil method based on information reconstruction vector for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal is proposed. Firstly, according to the channel frequency response vector of each array element, the algorithm reconstructs the vector data with delay and angle parameter information from both frequency and space dimensions. Then the enhanced data matrix for the extended array element is constructed, and the parameter vector of time delay and angle is estimated by the two-dimensional matrix pencil (2D MP) algorithm. Finally, the joint estimation of two-dimensional parameters is accomplished by the parameter pairing. The algorithm does not need a pseudo-spectral peak search, and the location of the target can be determined only by a single receiver, which can reduce the overhead of the positioning system. The theoretical analysis and simulation results show that the estimation accuracy of the proposed method in a single snapshot and low signal-to-noise ratio environment is much higher than that of Root Multiple Signal Classification algorithm (Root-MUSIC), and this method also achieves the higher estimation performance and efficiency with lower complexity cost compared to the one-dimensional matrix pencil algorithm.

Improved initial cell searching algorithm for 3GPP W-CDMA systems (3GPP W-CDMA 시스템에서 개선된 초기 셀 탐색 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, the improved initial cell searching algorithm is proposed for 3GPP(The third Generation Partnership Project) W-CDMA system. The key objective of the proposed algorithm is to reduce searching slot and to increase the reliability in the first stage of cell searching algorithm in order to accomplish the second stage. So the proposed algorithm makes the mobile station transfers to the second stage from the first stage, just after the slot synchronization is declared successively at the same time-offset. In order to compare the proposed algorithm with the conventional one, the simulations are accomplished for cell search algorithm for 3GPP W-CDMA systems in the multipath Rayleigh fading channel. The first stage of conventional algorithm is also analyzed in a Rayleigh fading channel in order to prove simulation to be reasonable. In this paper, the proposed algorithm presents the better performance than conventional one. We also propose some parameters for optimal performance.
