This study investigated relationships between academic stress and mathematics learning motivation focusing on the mediating effect of academic motivation types. It also tested differential structural relationship among the variables in the high vs. low academic achievement level groups and the boys vs. girls of middle schools. The participants were 952 second graders from five middle schools. Student scores from the standardized tests that were developed to assess the students' academic stress, mathematics learning motivation, and three types of motivation (amotivation, controlled motivation, and autonomous motivation) were used in this study. The results demonstrate that there were significant differences in the relationship patterns of the research variables. Correlation analysis provided evidences that academic stress was negatively related with mathematics learning motivation and autonomous motivation but positively related with amotivation and controlled motivation. Also, mathematics learning motivation was negatively related with amotivation and controlled motivation but positively related with autonomous motivation. Structural equation modelling analysis provided the evidence that the full mediation model was a significant, in that the students' types of academic motivation mediated the effect of academic stress on mathematics learning motivation. Multiple group analysis revealed that there were group differences in the path coefficients of the structural model. But the academic stress showed negative influence on the mathematics learning motivation via amotivation and autonomous motivation in all groups.
The study was carried out to determine if a difference in initial chick weight was still evident in market body weight(6 or 8 week body weight) of broilers. The data of a total of 800 broiler commercial chick raised at Poultry Breeding Farm, Seoul National University from Aug. 6, 1981 to Oct. 1, 1981 were analysed. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Although the initial chick weight was about the same, male chick grew more rapidly than female and sex difference was the most striking factor in growth rate of broiler in this analysis. 2. The relationship between initial chick weight and body weight after hatching was decreased to the increase of weeks of age in both sexes. Though the correlation coefficients of the 6 week and 8 week body weight to the initial chick weight were 0.15 & 0.15 in female and 0.18 & 0.17 in male, the relationship was highly significant in both sexes. 3. Regressions of 6 and 8 week body weight on the initial chick weight in both sexes indicate that, for each increase of one gram in weight of chick at hatching, the average increase in body weight was 8.33 gram & 10.07 gram in female and 7.85 gram & 11.28 gram in male. Results show that the initial chick weight (1 day of age) influence average body weight of commercial broiler at 6 and 8 weeks of age.
The studies were intended to clarify the correlations between the characters and the influences upon yield of mulberry trees. The analysis of covariance was used to obtain the genotypic correlations and phenotypic correlations among the eight characters namely branch length, node number, branch diameter, branch number per stock, total branch weight, old branch weight, new shoot and leaf weight, etc., and path-coefficients were calculated by Dewey's method (5). The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. Genotypic correlations were slightly higher than the corresponding phenotypic correlations between tile characters as shown in Table 1. It could be indicated that hight leaf yield was genetically correlated with almost all characters studied except branch diameter. 2. Leaf yield of mulberry trees was mainly associated with the characters such as node number per branch, total branch weight and old branch weight, etc. 3. Branch length, branch diameter, branch number per stock and new shoot weight had little direct influence upon yield but it had rather considerable indirect in fluence upon yield by increasing the node number and total branch weight per stock. As a result, it can be concluded that total branch weight is primarily determined by branch number per stock and old branch weight, and in turn the leaf yield of mulberry trees is secondary determined by the node number by increasing the branch diameter and length which are positively correlated with branch number per stock and new shoot weight of mulberry trees.
Complement of test standard, evaluation methods and models are needed to improve national competitiveness and to exchange superior genetic resources through the comparison of genetic evaluation score among nations in dairy cattle. Therefore, this study was conducted for the application of international standard to Korea considering domestic circumstance by changing linear-classification test score system of 50 classes which is currently used in Korea to system of 9 classes which is used in advanced nations of dairy. 15,230 of holstein cow linear type records with first parity records for the fifteen linear type and one total score from 2001 to 2006 and pedigree data which were collected by the Korean Animal Improvement Association were used in this study. Population classified by 9 levels was more normal distributed than 50 levels. Correlation coefficients between 50 and 9 score system showed over 0.98 by each classification scheme. Therefore, the 50 point system can be substituted with 9 point system due to their highly positive correlation. However, scores in all traits were still very contingent on classifier under the 9 point system (p<0.001), and F values between foot angle and front teat attachment showed high fluctuation depending on classifier. It means that subjective opinions of classifier would influence on linear type score as ever even if class scheme transformed to system of 9 class. Therefore, the relevance of transformation to the 9 point system should be assessed after analyses about various environmental factors.
A bionomic study of the coralligenous concretionary hard bottom in the northwestern Mediterranean was carried out at four stations : three stations(Arnette, Laurons, Auguette) under the influence of intense multisource pollution(gradient decreasing from north to south) in the Gulf of Fos, west of Marseille, France, and one control station(Moyade islet) in an unpolluted area near Riou island, east of Marseille. Along the increasing pollution gradient from the outer to the inner part of the Gulf of Fos, there is a qualitative and quantitative impoverishment of the fauna. On the whole, the species richness, the numerical abundance. and the species diversity index are all on the decrease. Accordingly, the innermost station in the Gulf of Fos(Auguette) is most heavily affected by the industrial, and to a lesser extent by the domestic wastes, from the nearby industrial complex and urban areas. The impact on the benthic coralligenous community of this serious alteration has been analysed in view of community composition, functional aspect, and ecological stocks. The faunal affinity between stations has been studied by means of the two coefficients : fourfold point correlation coefficient and Jaccard's community coefficient. The upper layer and inferior face communities of the coralligenous concretionary structures are also compared.
This study was designed to suggest a learning organization in a medical center by examining the factors to influence effectiveness of the learning organization. We collected the data of 586 persons who participated once or more times in the learning organization managed from 2000 to 2002 by Y Medical Center located in Seoul, and included the data of 285 persons in the final analysis. The results of the study are summarized as follows. First, as the results of examining the regression coefficients to predict the effectiveness of and satisfaction with the learning organization through the learning level, learning method and learning organization constructing level as the general variables, the important influential factors were shown as follows: 1)knowledge creation, knowledge storing, private learning, organizational learning, and learning organization construction of occupational and human levels as the factors to predict the working competency; 2) learning organization construction of the human level as the factors to assume the duty satisfaction; 3) gender, working years, private learning, team learning and organizational construction level for the prediction of the organizational commitment; and 4) medical technical service, knowledge creation, organization learning, and constructing level of the environmental and human levels for the assumption of the satisfaction with experience in the learning organization. Based on the study results of the effects in managing the learning organization, we can conclude the followings. First, the members who are in various working positions and occupations need to continuously participate in the learning organization. Second, to raise the organizational outcome from the management of the learning organization, it is necessary to establish systematic concepts in the constituents of the organizational effectiveness such as working competency improvement, duty satisfaction and organizational commitment, and the experience satisfaction of the learning organization. Finally, the future of the organization depends on the learning competencies of the organization members. To continuously exist and develop the organization, the private learning of the organizational members should be constantly spread and shared over the organizational level, and the usual innovations such as repetitive and habitual organizational learning should be generally tried out throughout the whole field of the management.
In this study, the correlations between AST850 and precipitation, and those between WDT and precipitation in the Yeongdong coastal region under the direct/indirect influence of the expansion of cP (continental polar air mass) high were quantitatively analyzed based on the winter season data for the last 20 years, according to surface pressure patterns such as Type 1 (cP high expansion type), Type 2 (cP high expansion + trough type), Type 4 (South trough type), and Type 5 (East Sea trough type). Here, AST850 represents 'sea surface temperature minus temperature on 850 hPa level' and WDT represents 'a speed of 1000 hPa wind projected onto a certain wind direction times precipitation duration in hour'. First, the correlation coefficients between AST850 and precipitation in Type 1, Type 2, and Type 5 cases were 0.253, 0.384, and 0.398 respectively, indicating that a tendency of increasing precipitation linearly with the value of AST850 is slightly presented. In the case of Type 4, however, the coefficient was -0.15, representing almost no linear correlation between AST850 and precipitation. In the correlation between WDT and precipitation, there was the largest correlation coefficient (0.464) between WDT along a direction of $90^{\circ}$ and at EN1 in Type 1 cases. In the case of Type 2, there was the largest correlation coefficient (0.767) between WDT along a direction of $67.5^{\circ}$ and at ES1. In the case of Type 4, there was the largest correlation coefficient (0.559) between WDT along a direction of $22.5^{\circ}$ and at EN2. Finally, in the case of Type 5, there was the largest correlation coefficient (0.945) between WDT along a direction of $315^{\circ}$ and at SE1, representing the largest coefficient among the types. It was found that surface wind directions with the highest correlations to precipitation in the Yeongdong coastal area on winter season were varied according to surface pressure patterns, and that the correlations between WDT and precipitation were higher than those between AST850 and precipitation.

The influence of CaO addition on the crystallization temperature, crystal types, and microstructure of L-A-S ($Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$) glass-ceramics system fabricated from a coal bottom ash, produced at thermal power plant, was studied. The glass transition and crystallization temperatures were shifted to the higher temperature position with increasing CaO content in a non-isothermal analysis using a DTA. The major crystalline phases of L-A-S glass-ceramics system produced were identified as ${\beta}$-spodumene ($LiAlSi_2O_6$) and eucryptite ($LiAlSiO_4$). The glass-ceramics showed a bulk and surface crystallization behavior at a time. With increasing CaO content, the ${\beta}$-spodumene peak in XRD increased and some CaO-related phases were formed. The surface crystal grown from the exterior to the center in glass-ceramics showed various shapes by amount of CaO added. Some cracks were generated at the glass-ceramics containing CaO above 9 wt% due to the mismatch of thermal expansion coefficients between a ${\beta}$-spodumene and CaO-related crystal phases.
The diffusivity of carbon dioxide in concrete is very important in that it directly affects the degree of carbonation in concrete structures. The purpose of the present study is to explore the diffusivity of carbon dioxide and to derive a realistic equation to estimate the diffusion coefficient of carbon dioxide in concrete. For this purpose, several series of concrete specimens have been tested. Major test variables were the water-cement ratios. The total porosities and the diffusion coefficients of carbon dioxide were measured for the specimens. The present study indicates that the measured porosities agree well with the calculated ones. The effects of porosity and relative humidity on the diffusion coefficient of carbon dioxide were examined. A prediction equation to estimate the diffusion coefficient of carbon dioxide was derived and proposed in this study. The proposed equation shows reasonably good correlation with test data on the $CO_2$ diffusion coefficient of concrete
This study was done to investigate of instrumental activities of daily living(IADL) and quality of life and their relationships between the elderly. Data were collected from 150 elderly home residents. The data were collected from December 1st to December 20th, 2000. Structured questionnaires developed by Lawton & Brody and by Ro were adopted to measure IADL and Quality of life. Data were analyzed for percentage, means, t-test, ANOVA and Parson correlation coefficients using the SPSS program. The results were as follows: 1. The average score of the level of IADL was $20.68{\pm}2.98$ ($M{\pm}SD$) with a range of 7-26. 2. The average score of the level of Quality of life was 2. $96{\pm}0.25$ ($M{\pm}SD$). In the average score of each lower area, highest score was 3.22 for neighbor relationship and family relationship and then 3.00 for self-esteem, 2.95 for economic status, 2.86 for emotional status, and 2.85, lowest score, for physical condition and function. 3. Comparing IADL and Quality of life with general characteristics, IADL showed that there were significant difference in age(t=2.927, p=0.036) and separated children contact frequency(t=2.482, p=0.046), while Quality of life showed that there were significant difference in spouse existence(t=2.334, p=0.021), religion(t=4.089, p=0.008), family style(t=3.285, p=0.040), children number living together(t=5.332, p=0.006), communication with separated children frequency(t=4.129, p=0.003), and separated children contact frequency(t=3.908, p=0.005). 4. There was also significant positive correlation between IADL and Quality of life. The above results show that neighbor relationship and family relationship which have greatly an influence on IADL and Quality of life are very important. The elderly should be helped to satisfy their basic desire and show their potential living together with the younger generation interdependently without being isolated from family and society. Therefore, the nursing strategy that enhance IADL and Quality of life are needed and the nursing strategy that can improve IADL and Quality of life of Elderly Home Residents should be developed.
