파랑 중 계류된 스파 플랫폼의 시간영역 해석 (Time Domain Analysis of a Moored Spar Platform in Waves)

  • The Spar platform with deep draft is characterized as effective structure in extreme wave condition, which has larger natural period than that of waves in sea. In this paper, the time domain simulation of motion responses of Spar with catenary mooring line is presented in irregular waves. The memory effect is modeled by added mass at infinite frequency and convolution integrals in terms of wave damping coefficients. The added mass, wave damping coefficients and wave exciting forces are obtained from three-dimensional panel method in the frequency domain. The motion equations are consisted of forces for inertia, memory effect, hydrostatic restoring, wave exciting and mooring line. The forces of mooring line are modeled as quasi-static catenary cable.

  • 개 영역 교류자장 문제 해석을 위해 구부범함수를 사용한 변분법을 제시한다. 이 방법에 사용되는 국부범함수는 유한요소영역에 대한 영역적 분항과 유한요소영역과 무한요소영역 사이의 공유 경계면에 대한 경계적분항의 합으로써 이루어 진다. 경계적분항은 무한 계산영역에 대한 범함수의 무 한요소영역에 대한 영역적분항을 고유경계면에 대한 경계적분으로 치환시킴으로써 얻어진다. 본 논문 에서 제시한 방법을 이론해를 알고 있는 모델에 적요시켜 수치해석 결과를 얻고 그 결과를 이론해와 비교하여 보았다. 본 방법을 사용함으로써 이론해와 잘 일치하는 수치해석 결과를 덩었으며, 그리고 개 영역 교류자장 문제해석에 있어서 계산영역을 축소시킬 수 있기 때문에 컴퓨터 기억용량 감소 및 계산시간을 대폭 단축 시킬 수 있을 것이다.

Wave Propagation Analysis in Inhomogeneous Media by Using the Fourier Method

  • Transient acoustic and elastic wave propagation in inhomogeneous media are studied by using the Fourier method. It is known that the fourier method has advantages in memory requirements and computing speed over conventional methods such as FDM and FEM, because the Fourier method needs less grid points for achieving the same accuracy. To verify the proposed numerical scheme, several examples having analytic solutions are considered, where two different semi-infinite media are in contact along a plane boundary. The comparisons of numerical results by the Fourier method and analytic solutions show good agreements. In addition, the fourier method is applied to a layered half-plane, in which an elastic semi-infinite medium is covered by an elastic layer of finite thickness. It is showed how to derive the analytic solutions by using the Cagniard-de Hoop method. The numerical solutions are in excellent agreements with analytic results.

파중 진행하는 선박의 3차원 시간영역 운동해석 (3_D Time-Domain Analysis on the Motion of a Ship Advancing in Waves)

  • The motion of a ship advancing in regular waves is analyzed in the time-domain using the convolution integral of the radiation forces. The memory effect functions and infinite frequency added masses are obtained from the solution of the three dimensional improved Green integral equation in the frequency domain by making use of the Fourier transformation. The ship motions in regular waves have been calculated by both the time and frequency domain methods. It has been shown that they agree very well with each other. The present time-domain method can be used to predict the time histories of unsteady motions in irregular waves. It can also be used to calculate the hydrostatic and Froude-Krylov forces over the instantaneous wetted surface of the ship hull to predict large ship motions, in a practical sense, advancing in large amplitude waves.

  • The local motion at the top of an A-frame fixed on a research vessel for deep sea ROV floating in irregular waves is studied in the time-domain. The motion is analyzed in the time-domain using the convolution integral of the radiation forces.   • This paper presents a new method for first and second order eigen-sensitivity analysis of system matrix in augmented form. Eigen-sensitivity analysis provides invaluable informations in power system planning and operation. However, conventional eigen-sensitivity analysis methods, which need all the eigenvalues and eigenvectors, can not be applicable to large scale power systems due to large computer memory and computing time required. In the proposed method, all sensitivity computations for a mode are carried out using the augmented system matrix and its own eigenvalue and right & left eigenvectors. In other words sensitivity analysis for a mode does not need informations on the other eigenvalues and eigenvectors and sparsity technique can be fully utilized. Thus compuations can be done very efficiently with moderate computer memory and computing time even for large power systems. The proposed algorithm is tested for one machine infinite bus system.

효과적인 적응 전처리왜곡기를 이용한 OFDM 시스템에서의 비선형 왜곡 보상 (On Compensating Nonlinear Distortions of an OFDM System Using an Efficient Adaptive Predistorter)

  • This paper presents an efficient adaptive predistortion technique compensating linear and nonlinear distortions caused by high-power amplifier (HPA) with memory in OFDM systems. The efficient adaptive data predistortion techniques proposed for compensation of HPA with memory in single carrier systems cannot be applied to OFDM systems since the possible input levels for HPA is infinite in OFDM systems. Also, previous adaptive predistortion techniques, based on Volterra series modeling, are not suitable for real-time implementation due to high computational burden and slow convergence rate. In the proposed approach, the memoryless HPA preceded by a linear filter in OFDM systems is modeled by the Wiener system which is then precompensated by the proposed adaptive predistorter with a minimum number of filter taps. An adaptive algorithm for adjusting the proposed adaptive predistorter is derived using the stochastic gradient method. It is demonstrated by computer simulation that the performance of OFDM system suffering from nonlinear distortion can be greatly improved by the proposed efficient adaptive predistorter using a small number of filter taps.

Thermo-mechanical response of size-dependent piezoelectric materials in thermo-viscoelasticity theory

  • The memory response of nonlocal systematical formulation size-dependent coupling of viscoelastic deformation and thermal fields for piezoelectric materials with dual-phase lag heat conduction law is constructed. The method of the matrix exponential, which constitutes the basis of the state-space approach of modern control theory, is applied to the non-dimensional equations. The resulting formulation together with the Laplace transform technique is applied to solve a problem of a semi-infinite piezoelectric rod subjected to a continuous heat flux with constant time rates. The inversion of the Laplace transforms is carried out using a numerical approach. Some comparisons of the impacts of nonlocal parameters and time-delay constants for various forms of kernel functions on thermal spreads and thermo-viscoelastic response are illustrated graphically.

  • Recently in-memory data stream processing has been actively applied to various subjects such as query processing, OLAP, data mining, i.e., frequent item sets, association rules, clustering. However, finding regular periodic patterns of events in an infinite data stream gets less attention. Most researches about finding periods use autocorrelation functions to find certain changes in periodic patterns, not period itself. And they usually find periodic patterns in time-series databases, not in data streams. Literally a period means the length or era of time that some phenomenon recur in a certain time interval. However in real applications a data set indeed evolves with tiny differences as time elapses. This kind of a period is called as a pseudo-period. This paper proposes a new scheme called FPMH (Finding Periods using Multiple Hash functions) algorithm to find such a set of pseudo-periods over a data stream based on multiple hash functions. According to the type of pseudo period, this paper categorizes FPMH into three, FPMH-E, FPMH-PC, FPMH-PP. To maximize the performance of the algorithm in the data stream environment and to keep most recent periodic patterns in memory, we applied decay mechanism to FPMH algorithms. FPMH algorithm minimizes the usage of memory as well as processing time with acceptable accuracy.

반전 좌표계 영상 공간을 이용한 효과적 소실점 검출 (Effective Detection of Vanishing Points Using Inverted Coordinate Image Space)

  • 본 논문에서는 반전 좌표계 영상 공간 (inverted-coordinate image space: ICIS)을 이용하여 유한 및 무한 소실점을 그 위치의 제약이나 카메라 보정 (calibration) 없이 효과적으로 검출하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법에서는 소실점 검출을 위한 무한(unbounded) 누적 공간을 한정된 부공간 (bounded subspace)들로 분할 매핑하기 때문에 기존의 영상 공간 기반법과 달리 모든 영상에 대해 소량의 고정 메모리 요구량으로도 유, 무한 소실점을 모두 검출할 수 있다. 영상 공간을 누적 공간으로 이용하기 때문에 기존의 가우시안 구 (Gaussian sphere) 기반법이나 허프 공간 (Hough) 기반법과도 달리 카메라 보정이나 원 영상에 대한 정보손실 없이 각 소실점들을 정확하게 추출할 수 있다. 제안한 방법을 다양한 건축 구조물 영상 (architectural images)에 적용시켜 유한 및 무한 소실점들을 효과적이고 정확하게 검출할 수 있음을 확인하였다.
