Two methods can be used to correct the undesirable magnetic field of MRI. One is active shimming method and the other is ferro-magnetic shimming. Ferro-magnetic shimming method is more inexpensive, more convenient in operation and more effective on correcting magnetic field. So, nowadays, it is the general method for shimming the commercialized MRI magnet. We have developed a 1.5T MRI magnet and its ferromagnetic shimming system. Using the ferro-magnetic shimming system, we have improved the field homogeneity of the 1.5T MRI magnet.

Overall purposes of neuropsychological tests are summarized as follows: 1) Indentifying brain damage in individuals who have symptoms of uncertain etiology; 2) Assessing the extent and nature of deficits for forensic purposes and planning appropriate intervention; 3) Evaluating the effects of intervention or rehabilitation; 4) Examining the effects of various types of brain damage across different populations; and 5) Testing theoretical propositions about brain-behavior relationship. Of the neuropsychological tests, the Luria-Nebraska Neuropsychological Battery(LNNB) is easily transportable, relatively inexpensive, and performable by trained technician. The Korean version of LNNB is now being designed and will be used clinically in the near future. Localization and equipotential theories of brain function had been prevalent until Luria's theory of brain function. Brain, composed of three brain units in the theory, is the functional system in which each brain area has specific function and produce the function-related behavior. LNNB consists of 11 clinical scales, 5 summary scales, 8 localization scales, and 28 factor scales.

A nano structured silica aerogel thin film was manufactured from inexpensive sodium silicate (water glass) using an ambient pressure drying method. High purity silicic sol was prepared by passing a water glass solution through an ion exchange resin, and the gel films were prepared on a modified glass substrate via dip coating. The dip coating conditions, such as coating time and solvent, were optimized. The optical and physical properties of the obtained silica aerogel thin film were characterized using a UV-visable spectrometer and a scanning electron microscope.

The effect of pressure on 1,3-dipolar cycloaddtion has been studied by means of FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. Pressure accelerates 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition without solvent or catalyst. This simple and inexpensive method eliminates the need for work-up or purification. The method is expected to be applied to the synthesis of binders for solid rocket propellants.

Add-Vision has developed a low-cost print technology for P-OLED displays on flexible substrates that meets several essentials for a new technology including: (1) Functionality including low DC voltage and wide color gamut; (2) Utilization of inexpensive tools; (3) Performance matching entry applications and markets. AVI's process is based on large-area printing of a combination of doped emissive and air-stable cathode inks utilizing truly low-cost tools to create printed P-OLEDs.

We demonstrate color video displays driven by carbon nanotube electron field emitters. These nanotubes are incorporated into the device by selective growth using low temperature chemical vapor deposition. The device structure is simple and inexpensive to fabricate, and a 45 V switching voltage enables the use of low cost driver electronics. The prototype units are sealed 4.6” diagonal displays with 726 um pixels. They represent a piece of a 42” diagonal 1280x720 high definition television. The carbon nanotube growth process is performed as the last processing step and creates nanotubes ready for field emission. No activation post-processing steps are required, so chemical and particulate contamination is not introduced. Control of the nanotube dimension, orientation, and spatial distribution during growth enables uniform, highquality, color video performance.

The configuration of Distribution Automatic System(BAS) is dual servers and raid 5(redundant arrays of inexpensive disks) clustering dual HDD. The DAS has the distributed object-oriented architecture using middleware software(BASEstar), so the number of client nodes has no limitation. Because the DAS is scalable, it can be configured using various application programs and be upgraded easily. The DAS has competitive to export because there are system development and accumulation of technology that coincide in International Standard, using common 05 and DB. This paper describes the structure of DAS hardware and software separately and proposes to improve program to share real time DB efficiently at each node.

$(Pb_xLa_{1-x}) (Zr_yTi_{1-y})O_3$ (PLZT) thin films with electrooptic effect are promising for the optical application such as display or light shutter. However, it is difficult to use inexpensive and transparent glass substrates because the conventional process for preparation of PLZT requires temperatures above $600^{\circ}C$. In order to deposit a perovskite PLZT thin films at low processing temperatures through alkoxide route, we have offered several seeding processes which reduce the activation energy for crystallization. In this study, we optimized the stacking structure of multilayered PLZT for obtaining single phase perovskite at lower temperatures. As a result, ferroelectric PLZT thin films with different compositions were successfully prepared at a temperature as low at $500^{\circ}C$.

Pitch is an attractive raw material for carbon fiber precursors due to its low cost stemming from its availability as a residue of coking and petroleum processes. Ford Motor Company reported a carbon fiber target price of $11.0/kg by using a fast cycle-time manufacturing method with carbon fiber in an inexpensive format, allowing for an average retail price of gasoline of $3.58/gallon. They also recommended the use of carbon fiber with strength of 1700 MPa, modulus of 170 GPa, and 1.5% elongation. This study introduced a ca. $5.5{\mu}m$ carbon fiber with 2000 MPa tensile strength obtained from a precursor through simple distillation of petroleum residue. Petroleum pitch based carbon nanofibers prepared via electrospinning were characterized and potential applications were introduced on the basis of their large specific surface area and relatively high electrical conductivity.

Smart street light controller is a product with advance micro controller base for energy saving in conventional street lighting systems. Intelligent Street light controller are specially developed for automation and energy saving in conventional street light systems and lighting systems. It is so designed that it operates on sunrise & sun set timings according to longitude of particular location with facilitate to set month wise civil twilight timings to cope up with all seasons. Dimming (Power down) mode selection switch on/off at fixed times with relay or contactor. Night dimming, staggering and intelligent control reduces burn hours and increases the lifetime of lamps with about 30% and low annual operating cost type base are among the most inexpensive wireless technologies available. Low initial costs As PLC wireless, there is no need to establish cable connection.
