19세기 베를린 '미츠카제리네' 블록하우징에 관한 고찰 - Hackesche Hoefe 리모델링을 중심으로 - (An Analysis of the 'Mietskaserne' Blockhousing in the late 19th Century in Berlin -Remodeling of Hackesche Hoefe-)

  • The $18^{th}$ century's Industrial Revolution brought about influx of commerce, industry, and agricultural population into the urban areas, entering the $19^{th}$ century. Quality of rural communities declined, and the exploding population in the cities gave rise to various problems. 'Mietskaserne' Blockhousing was constructed by the 'Hobrechtplan', but led to social problems such as poor living conditions, insufficient sunshine due to overcrowding, slums due to incomplete urban infrastructure, epidemics, and so on. Starting in the early $20^{th}$ century, Berlin has driven forward a remodeling plan under the motto of 'critical reconstruction (kritische Rekonstruktion)'. It is performed in the place, which represents the vicissitudinous history of Berlin with site plans coexisting past with presence, using modern vocabulary of architectural forms. Reconstructing a city is a process which not only raises the economic value of each building consisting a city, but also a redevelopment process that brings out cultural value of an era. When a new era emerges buildings get reconstructed or rebuilt, and thereby form the identity of a city by reflecting its society, culture, politics, economy, and history. Old German architecture were not destroyed or rebuilt recklessly just by the fact that they are functionally or aesthetically outdated. Each building is treated as precious cultural heritage reflecting the history. This is how Berlin is being transformed today.

조선시대 배자류를 활용한 문화상품 개발 (Development of Cultural Products Using Baeja of the Joseon Dynasty)

  • It is time to create an image of Korea that uniquely defines and represents the nation to the world, by incorporating Korean traditions with the cultural industry. To this end, it is important to see the beauty of Korean tradition from an academic perspective and further explore its utility from an industrial viewpoint. This study is intended to design uniforms for employees in Korean restaurants at hotels or docents in Korean-styled museums. In doing so, we eyed on Baeja, a Korean traditional vest as the cultural archetype, and created cultural products. As our archetype, we chose two pieces of Baeja : one excavated from the tomb of Suryun Sim (1534-1589) which is displayed in the Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, and the other from Byeon of the Jeonju Lee family (1636-1731) in Suk Joo-Sun Memorial Museum at Dankook University. We also adopted Dapho with a Korean traditional vest with long length. Based on these cultural archetypes, seven products were developed. With the traditional food and way of living in Korea being more and more recognized in the global stage, it would be continuous creation and development of cultural contents with history and story rooted in the cultural heritage of the nation that could enrich our culture by bringing traditions back to the modern days to incorporate the past into the present. It is important to restore traditions when developing cultural products. However, it is also critical to commercialize ideas with stoη and creativity in the market for cultural products.

농촌계획지원용 지역자원평가시스템 구축(II) - AHP기법에 의한 자원요소의 중요도 펑가 - (Resources Evaluation System for Rural Planning Purposes(II) - Significance Determination of Resources Items by AHP Method -)

  • As one of methodological approaches for objective and systematic evaluation for rural resources, a sequential system for significance determination of resources items was formulated using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) as the base technique. By the system constructed in this study, the significance values were calculated for all items of standard goal system which had been presented in the first phase- paper of research works for rural resources evaluation. The results analysed and obtained in the study are summarized as follows; 1. In case that the number of resources items for evaluation are relatively large, stepwise matrix method is considered as the better one for pair-comparison works in view of evaluator's convenience and consistency. 2. The significance valuing results for most resources items showed a considerable difference between characteristic areas, especially in aspects of land and human resources, so being considered as wet reflecting the specific areal varieties, 3. On land resources, the items for industrial development and land use showed higher significance value, while natural environment resources the items for ecological varieties and on human resources the items for artificial facilities. However, lower-valued ones were the items for mineral stocks in land resources, for control and protection in natural environment resources and for lower-level culture heritage respectively.

Endophytic Yeasts Colonize Roots of Ulmus parvifolia Jacq. and Quercus salicina Blume

  • BACKGROUND: Identification and characterization of endophytic yeasts inhabiting the roots of Ulmus parvifolia Jacq. and Quercus salicina Blume require biotechnological and culture-based techniques. METHODS AND RESULTS: Homogenized U. parvifolia and Q. salicina root samples were spread onto four types of agar medium containing ancgtibiotics, L-sorbose, and Triton X-100. In total, 25 yeast strains were isolated and subjected to phylogenetic analysis based on their internal transcribed spacer region sequences. The results revealed that the yeast genera Cyberlindnera (12 isolates) and Cryptococcus (1 isolate) were associated with roots of U. parvifolia; and the genera Rhodotorula (8 isolates), Trichosporon (3 isolates), and Kluyveromyces (1 isolate) were associated with roots of Q. salicina. Additionally, a Kluyveromyces isolate produced a detectable level of bioethanol. The yeast strains reported herein may be used in industrial production of biosurfactants and bioethanol. CONCLUSION: Our findings revealed that the endophytic yeast genera Cyberlindnera and Cryptococcus predominated in roots of U. parvifolia; and the genera Rhodotorula (8 isolates), Trichosporon (3 isolates), and Kluyveromyces (1 isolate) predominated in roots of Q. salicina. Additionally, Kluyveromyces isolates produced a detectable level of bioethanol.

'European Prize for Urban Public Space'의 참가작에서 나타나는 유휴지 활용 공공공간 재생방식 (Renewal Methods of Public Space Using Abandoned sites in Works of 'European Prize for Urban Public Space')

  • Recently, public concerns about renewal of abandoned sites centered in Industrial Heritage are increasing in Korea. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to analyze characteristics of renewal methods of public space using abandoned sites. To achieve the proposed goal, the first part of this study focused on showing public properties involved in the fundamental reasons for the birth and life(persistence) of abandoned sites, which testified that they should be regenerated into public spaces to maximize the potentiality of abandoned sites. Upon preliminary analysis, main values of public space renewal were drawn through the analysis of the selection criteria, type of information about selected works, and classification system in 'The European Prize for Urban Public Space' hosted by the CCCB(Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona). Then, 427 projects participating in this prize from 2000 to 2010 were analyzed to identify characteristics of each level (site-program, process and space). Although this study was limited to the analysis of European projects, it proved that citizens' lives and activities should be involved in projecting-practicing-designing of renewal project using abandoned sites to create a successful public space.

Application of RTI to Improve Image Clarity of a Trace Fossil Cochlichnus Found from the Jinju and Haman Formations

  • A total of 64 specimens of trace fossils were collected from the Jinju Formation of the construction site of Jinju Aviation Industrial Complex, and from the Haman Formation of Namhae Gain-ri fossil site. The fossils are continuously and regularly meandering sine-curve in shape. The fossil varies in morphology: width between 0.2 and 5.6 mm, wavelength between 1.5 and 28 mm, and amplitude between 0.9 and 7.9 mm; the Jinju specimens are commonly wider than the Haman ones. The ratio of wavelength to amplitude is more or less regular regardless of width of the specimen, and the linear correlation of the ratios shows that the Jinju specimens fit better than the Haman specimens. Taking all morphometric parameters, specimens in all size ranges are temporarily identified as ichnospecies Cochlichnus anguineus. In order to obtain more distinct and clearer images of Cochlichnus, we selected two specimens and applied a new imaging technology RTI. For photography of the trace fossils, 50 to 80 images were taken per set with photometric lighting close to the surface and horizontally. RTI technology clearly showed that the images of tiny fossils were improved: the surface contrast become sharper and messy and unnecessary information disappeared. Currently, RTI technology is used in many fields including preservation of cultural properties and archaeology. As a consequence, we hope to apply this technique to the field of paleontology, especially to the study of trace fossils of very small size.

음성신호 분석에 의한 판소리의 음성학적 특징 연구 (A Study on the Acoustic Characteristics of the Pansori by Voice Signals Analysis)

  • 판소리는 우리나라 전통 성악곡이며 소리, 대화, 몸짓이 어울린 종합 예술로 독창성과 우수성을 세계적으로 인정받은 세계무형유산이다. 특히, 판소리는 소리꾼의 해학적 표현과 청중의 참여도가 높은 점에서 예술적 가치가 있으며 모든 계층이 두루 즐기는 예술로서 사회적 통합의 기능을 담당한 것으로 평가되고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 사회와 시대를 표현한 판소리의 음향학적 특징을 분석하기 위해 판소리 다섯 마당을 대상으로 음성신호 분석 기술을 적용한 상관성 추출 연구를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 판소리 다섯 마당에 대한 스펙트로그램, 피치, 안정도 및 강도 분석을 실험하였다. 실험 결과를 통해 판소리는 청중들에게 집중과 흥미를 지속적으로 유지시키면서 이야기를 풀어가는 특징을 잘 반영하기 위해 목소리의 파동 및 성대 떨림의 변화 폭이 크고 안정적이며 음성 에너지가 큰 소리로 표현하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • 21세기 산업에서 승부처는 문화산업이다. 따라서 한국은 문화콘텐츠산업에 많은 기대와 투자를 하고 있으며, 그 발전 가능성은 (1)정보통신 인프라, (2)디지털 컨버전스, (3)풍부한 문화유산과 정부의 정책의지에서 엿볼 수 있다. 그러나 한국의 문화콘텐츠산업은 미국과 일본과 같이 균질화 되지 않고, 부분적 고도성장을 하여 안정적이지 못하여, 단기적인 성장은 가능하나 장기적으로 지속적인 발전을 기대하기 어렵다. 따라서 이를 보다 효과적으로 문화콘텐츠산업을 활성화 방안의 하나가 장보드리야르의 시뮬라크르 이론이다. 그리고 장보드리야르가 말하는 가장 완벽한 시뮬라크르의 형태인 디즈니랜드 등을 통하여, 한국의 문화콘텐츠산업에 필요한 궁극적인 시뮬라크르를 고찰하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다.

일개 전문대학 간호과 여학생들의 피임지식과 피임태도 (Contraceptive Knowledge and Contraceptive Attitude of Female Nursing Students of a College)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 전문대학 간호과 여학생들의 피임지식과 태도를 살펴보고 이 변수들에 대한 영향요인을 규명하므로써 앞으로 건강교육자로 활동하게 될 간호과 학생들을 위한 좀더 체계적인 피임교육과정 개발에 도움이 되기 위함이다. 연구대상자는 충청도에 위치한 일개 전문대학 간호과 여학생 254명이었고 연구기간은 2011년 10월 17일부터 11월 11일까지였다. 대상자의 피임지식은 학년, 성적, 혼전성교 및 혼전동거에 대한 의견에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며 포옹, 키스, 애무 경험 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상자의 피임태도는 가정에서의 피임교육 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었고 포옹, 키스, 애무 경험 유무에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 대상자의 피임지식과 태도 간에는 정 상관관계를 나타냈고 피임지식에 대한 영향요인으로는 학년, 혼전동거에 대한 의견, 성적, 애무경험이었으며 피임태도에 대한 영향요인은 포옹경험과 가정에서의 성교육 유무였다.

증강현실을 이용한 문화재 콘텐츠 설계 및 구현 연구 (A Study of Design and Implementation of Cultural Property Contents Using Augmented Reality)

  • 증강현실은 카메라에 보인 현재 모습에, 중첩된 대상의 정보를 인지하는 방식으로 문화, 교육, 군사, 의료 등 다양한 분야에서 그 콘텐츠가 활용되고 있다. 특히 전시나 어린이 교육 콘텐츠는 이미 다양한 방식으로 제작되고 있다. 이러한 증강현실을 활용하여 문화재를 가상으로 구현하고 정보를 전달하는 콘텐츠를 개발하였다. '갈기비AR'과 '장영실의 발명품AR'을 통해 접근하기 어려운 문화재를 눈앞 가까이에서 경험 하도록 해준다. '갈기비AR'은 3D 블록 형태로 체험 콘텐츠를 제공함으로서 문화재 구조에 대해 손쉽게 알 수 있도록 한다. '장영실의 발명품AR'은 물체를 확대, 축소, 회전하며 함께 사진을 찍어 문화재를 보다 밀접하게 살펴볼 수 있도록 하였다. 바닥면을 인식하는 ARCore로 '갈기비 AR'는 증강된 화면 속에 비석을 위치하여 블록을 할 수 있게 한다. 측우기, 해시계, 물시계, 앙부일구를 손앞에 바로 보는 것과 같이 구현하여 체험자에게 사실감을 더 주고자 하였다. 문화재를 널리 알리기 위한 콘텐츠이며 문화재의 체험 콘텐츠를 통해 문화유산의 향유를 증대하고자 한다. 문화재 정보가 대중적으로 확산할 수 있도록 하는 데 제작되는 콘텐츠 기획에 도움이 되는 연구 자료이길 기대한다.
