Due to the paradigm shift of the industrial structure in the contemporary china society, the usage of practical function of industrial facilities goes down in this high developing society, so that it falls into some unused spaces. But the unused industrial facilities that including historical, symbolic and cultural meaning has been creating a new cultural space by giving architectural form and function through a variety of application methods for revitalization design. Especially, the facade design which fully expresses the function and meaning of building while properly expressing the cultural situation. It improves the living and cultural conditions of residents while giving the new symbolism of unused industrial facilities through various ways of application methods for revitalization. The unused industrial facilities that was reconstructed into the exhibition space in Beijing and Shanghai, china since 2006 is the object and scope of this study. The purpose of this study is to analyze the methods and characteristics of application methods for revitalization according to each component of the facade design in the idle industrial facility and to expect it to become basic data in the future design plan of unused industrial facilities.

After the Industrialism, long-lasting issues about Post-Industrialism have closely been associated with our daily lives. The keyword of Post-Industrialism could be regarded as Immateriality, which is represented by service, Information and knowledge. In the Post-Industrial society, the major role of Post-Industrial design trend is a mediator to deliver the immateriality to users. Additionally, the maturity of technologies and product life cycle have leaded users to the design trend that is free from the technologies and functions of products. In this context, the most powerful trend of the Post-Industrial design could be "metaphor design" and "poetic dimension". The similarity of these two styles is situated in the romanticism -reflection of symbol and metaphor. However, the appearance of Apple's iMac in 1998, poetic dimension, which uses transparent plastic and colourful, pleasurable 'blobjects' has dominated the post-industrial design trend.

본 연구는 데이터 경제시대, 디자인 산업데이터에 관한 이론적 고찰에 관한 연구이다. 본 연구는 디자인 산업데이터의 가치를 조명하고, 디자인 경영에서 디자인 데이터 시대로 전환의 의미를 해석하며, 디자이너에게 데이터를 해석하는 리터러시(literacy)의 중요성을 부각하고자 한다. 연구범위는 디자인의 산업적 가치를 탐구하기에 기업의 R&D 역량 강화 차원으로 접근한다. 또한, 디자인의 인문학적 기반과 미학적 가치보다는 산업적 관점에서 연구의 범위를 한정한다. 연구결과 디자인 산업데이터의 가치는 사후 평가가 아니라, 고객 중심의 시장 예측에 있다는 것과 디자인 산업데이터 주도전략이 중요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 핵심사항은 대기업과 중소기업의 디자인 산업데이터 이슈가 다르며, 디자인 산업데이터의 지향점은 기업의 제품/서비스 개발에 있어서 고객 중심의 의사결정 지원에 있어야 하고, 핵심역량은 데이터의 양이나 다루는 도구와 기술이 아니라, 데이터 리터러시에 있어야 한다. 마지막으로 디자인 산업데이터의 활용이 강화되려면 개인적 차원의 데이터 관리가 아니라, 공용화 차원의 관리가 선행되어야 한다.
