  • Until now, because a new product (or facility) launched in market has been retired from one year of age, we can have had ASL by stub-curve method by Iowa curve. Recently, many innovative products with important role in market like display and solar-cell etc. are more durable and, what are better, they have the constant variance in ASL because of their good quality. Of course, there are some ones like smart mobile phone with relatively big dispersion in ASL. Estimating ASL of products like display and solar-cell etc., the new approach is needed. In this paper a new method applied traditional Iowa curve with accelerated reliability test (indoor/outdoor) etc. is proposed.

  • One of the most common approaches to achieve better thermal comfort with the radiant floor heating system is supply water temperature control, which is that supply water temperature is varied with outdoor air temperature. But the application of this control method was not easy, because there has been no way to determine the supply water temperature. So in this study, a comprehensive, yet simple calculation method to find out the required supply water temperature is suggested by combining the building heat loss equation and the heat emission model of hydronic radiant floor heating system for single zone. And then using this calculation method, the multizone control method is suggested and confirmed through the thermal simulation. It is shown that indoor air temperature is stably maintained around the set point.

  • In this paper we develop a novel human action recognition system based on communication between an ear-mounted Bluetooth camera and an action recognition server to aid scene recognition for the blind. First, if the blind capture an image of a specific location using the ear-mounted camera, the captured image is transmitted to the recognition server using a smartphone that is synchronized with the camera. The recognition server sequentially performs human detection, object detection and action recognition by analyzing human poses. The recognized action information is retransmitted to the smartphone and the user can hear the action information through the text-to-speech (TTS). Experimental results using the proposed system showed a 60.7% action recognition performance on the test data captured in indoor and outdoor environments.

  • In the case of a partition panel for a vehicle, it is used as a vehicle chassis component that serves to distinguish the indoor and outdoor spaces of a vehicle and is mounted on a backrest portion of the vehicle's back seat to ensure the convenience of passengers by connecting the floor and the side of the vehicle. Because it is a relatively large-sized plate material among automobile chassis parts except the moving parts and non-ferrous materials can be applied, it is considered as a part having a large light-weight effect. However, the partition panel is one of the vehicle parts that must satisfy the light-weight effect as well as various structural reliability, such as torsional rigidity, vibration, and impact characteristics, for securing the running stability of the vehicle when driving at the same time. So, In this study, the possibility of replacing the aluminum partition panel as CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) partition panel is evaluated through comparing the two partition panels by using the structural reliability(stiffness/strength analysis), vibration analysis, impact analysis.

  • In order to provide a location-based services regardless of indoor or outdoor space, it is important to provide position information of the terminal regardless of location. Among the wireless/mobile communication resources used for this purpose, Long Term Evolution (LTE) signal is a representative infrastructure that can overcome spatial limitations, but the positioning method based on the location of the base station has a disadvantage in that the accuracy is low. Therefore, a fingerprinting technique, which is a pattern recognition technology, has been widely used. The simplest yet widely applied algorithm among Fingerprint positioning technologies is k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN). However, in the kNN algorithm, it is difficult to find the optimal K value with the lowest positioning error for each location to be estimated, so it is generally fixed to an appropriate K value and used. Since the optimal K value cannot be applied to each estimated location, therefore, there is a problem in that the accuracy of the overall estimated location information is lowered. Considering this problem, this paper proposes a technique for adaptively varying the K value by using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model among Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques. First, by using the signal information of the measured values obtained in the service area, an image is created according to the Physical Cell Identity (PCI) and Band combination, and an answer label for supervised learning is created. Then, the structure of the CNN is modeled to classify K values through the image information of the measurements. The performance of the proposed technique is verified based on actual data measured in the testbed. As a result, it can be seen that the proposed technique improves the positioning performance compared to using a fixed K value.

  • In this study, measured annual year and seasonal concentrations of VOCs by Active type and Passive type using the measurement and analysis method in the exhibition hall and outdoor. It was compared with the correlation between the methods according the comparison of methods to measured concentrations. As a results, the annual average concentrations of TVOC in exhibition room($906.5{\mu}g/m^3$) was greater than for most of the study period, more than 1.8 times the standard in the Ministry of Environment. ${\Sigma}VOCs$ concentration of exhibition room by Active type was higher than Passive type. Some VOCs was decreased with the lapse of time a temporary increase tendencies was. The annual average I/O ratio of TVOC was 9.0, ${\Sigma}VOCs$ was confirmed to occur in a large amount inside the exhibition hall ${\Sigma}VOCs$ was studied to 34.0. Correlation coefficient of ${\Sigma}VOCs$ was 0.367. Toluene was 0.567 that the survey was the largest analysis to the relationship between the two methods.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate student exposures to dust in classroom of middle schools. A total of four schools, such as two in an urban and two in a rural area, were selected for this study. In this study, airborne dust concentrations were measured during a period from July 8 to July 18, 1986. Additional measurements of dust concentrations were conducted from November 4 to 7, 1986 to compare the results by seasonal variation. The results of this study were as follows. 1. Respirable dust concentrations were measured by both filtration method (C mg/m$^3$) and Digital Aerosol Monitor (cpm) to calculate anexchange factor K. K- value was 0.159 as follows. $K=\frac{c}{cpm} = \frac{2.71}{17.09} = 0.159$ 2. In summer when windows were opened, the concentrations of airborne respirable dusts measured by filter sampling method were 0.54-1.37 mg/m$^3$ in the morning and 0.79-1.75 mg/m$^3$ in the afternoon. Thus, higher levels were indicated in the afternoon. Meanwhile, the concentrations of airborne respirable dusts measured in winter were approximately twice as high as those in summer. 3. The highest dust concentrations were determined in School D which is a coeducational school with classroom of concrete floor. Walking roads in School D were not paved and students did not wear indoor-shoes. Dust levels in School D were approximately twice as high as levels in School B. All of the measured dust levels in four schools exceeded Korean Standard for outdoor air, 0.3 mg/m$^3$ for 24 hours. Results by Digital Aerosol Monitor indicated that there was no significant difference in dust levels among grades. The concentration of airborne dusts in the classroom was 1.5-3.0 times higher than that in the hall way. The concentration of airborne dusts during recess was 1.3-1.6 times higher than that during class. In winter, the dust concentrations during clean-up exceeded the permissible exposure limit, 10 mg/m$^3$ (as total dusts), for occupational exposures. 4. The concentrations of total dusts measured in winter were 1.5-2.4 times higher than those of respirable dusts measured simultaneously.

  • As the loss prevention system using bluetooth has a short communication range, it has a problem which its location is not known if it is strayed out of a certain distance. To overcome shortcoming of such an existing loss prevention system, this paper proposes a GPS-based wireless loss prevention system without communication fee using the LoRa Communication with a long distance. The proposed system performs a remote control application on the smart-phone and then is able to get a long-distance GPS coordinates about the location of the loss prevention system on the google map. For performance evaluation of the implemented proposed system, the experiments for transmitting and receiving data are done in open terrain, indoor and outdoor areas and the experiment results identified the superiority of the proposed system in the long-distance.
