  • The purposes of this study were to classify university students by their lifestyle and to investigate the relationships between lifestyle and coffee satisfaction. The survey had been undertaken for 360 Korean and Chinese university students in Daejeon from November to December 2009. A total of 242 usable questionnaires were received with 67.2% response rate. The statistical analysis was performed by the SPSS 18.0 package program. Lifestyles of subjects, based on AIO (Activities, Interests, Opinions) method and factor analysis, were segmented into 2 groups of "outgoing activity" (n = 137) and "introverted devotion" (n = 105). "Outgoing activity" group exhibited highly health-oriented (p < 0.001) and convenience-oriented (p < 0.001) characteristics, but "introverted devotion" group showed highly goal-oriented (p < 0.01) and safety-oriented (p < 0.01) features. Comparing to "introverted devotion" group, "outgoing activity" group showed higher intake of coffee (p < 0.01) and more expense for beverage (p < 0.01). Three factors were extracted from 15 coffee quality attributes by factor analysis; "fundamentals", "supplement" and "inducement". These factors were positively correlated with coffee satisfaction according to lifestyle groups (p < 0.01). For "outgoing activity" group, 'fundamentals' was independent factor for satisfaction on coffee in coffee house (${\beta}$ = 0.268, p < 0.05) and canned or bottled coffee (${\beta}$ = 0.314, p < 0.01), and "supplement" was independent factor for satisfaction on coffee in vending machine (${\beta}$ = 0.235, p < 0.05). For "introverted devotion" group, "inducement" was independent factor for satisfaction on coffee in vending machine (${\beta}$ = 0.238, p < 0.001). These results provide an understanding for lifestyles of coffee consumers and give an insight into differentiated marketing plans for coffee industry.

  • This article aims to describe the institutional structuring strategy of independent smallholders in accelerating sustainable economic development, by taking the example of the cow-coconut integration system (SISKA) problem in Sialang Palas Village, Riau. The method used identified stakeholders related to SISKA; the stakeholder's goals and interests, farmers' social and institutional bases, and self-help farmer socio-economic networks. First, identification of various factors through strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis techniques. Second, through the Modern Political Economy analysis technique. Third, imparting knowledge and skills to the farmers and village officials through a collective learning process in utilizing natural resource waste and social resources. The results showed that the farmer management strategy in the reform era started by clustering the interests of farmers. The dynamics of structuring group relations between the chairman and members with farmers outside the group are the basis for strengthening the local ideology of independence in the future. This institutional structuring strategy that focuses on access to farm power in the village decision-making process encourages a more integrated work of farmer organizations. The analysis above shows that the independent smallholder institutional engineering through regulation, organization, and resources are determined by the farmer household economic factors and the application of the value of local wisdom.

  • This paper discusses the independent seminar as one of the appropriate courses, in particular, for the students who study English literature in the doctoral program. Those who take the Ph.D. program in English literature are considered as future scholars or teachers. In taking the coursework, they not only delve into the knowledge of literature, but also begin to establish broader and deeper senses of research ability. The independent seminar class helps them build such senses through the way in which they experience to the development of the syllabus by themselves. Furthermore, in contrast to a regular class, in which a group of students learn in a classroom, the independent seminar gives each student intensive interactions with his/her professor through the out-of-classroom circumstances, since the seminar is based upon one-on-one study between the student and the professor.

  • Purpose:It has been known that the prognosis of a young woman's breast cancer is Poorer than the other woman However, the effect of age on the prognosis is not well-defined We performed this study to investigate age as a prognostic factor of breast cancer. Materials and Methods : A retrospective study was conducted for 3209 breast cancer patients who underwent operations in Department of Surgery, Seoul National University Hospital from January 1981 to December 2000. Patients were divided into two groups, young age(≤35) and old age(>35) groups. And tumor stage, histopathologic characteristics(such as histology, nuclear grade, histologic grade, hormonal receptor, etc), overall survival and disease free survival rates were compared between age groups. Results . The age ranged from 17 to 88 years. 396 patients(12.3%) were included in young age group(median=32) and 2813 Patients(87.7%) in old age group(median=47).There are more advanced stages and poor nuclear grades in young age group(p=0.000, p=0.003), By log-rank test, the young age group had poorer overall survival and disease free survival rates(p<0.05, p=0.0002). Although, the young age group had more advanced TMN stages(p=0.000) and poorer nuclear grade than the old age group(p=0.003) in multi variate analysis, the age was not a significant independent prognostic factor. (P=0.642)Conclusion: Our study showed that the age was not a significant independent prognostic factor.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of dental fixed prostheses fabricated by 3DP (three-dimensional printing). Methods: Ten main models were prepared for the study. Ten specimens were printed by 3DP (3DP group). Ten specimens were fabricated by the lost wax technique and casting method to complete the control group (LWC group). The marginal fit was measured for 20 specimens. The measurement of marginal fit was performed using the silicon replica technique. Finally, the marginal fit of 10 specimens from each group was calculated. An independent sample t-test was run to see if the calculated averages for the two groups were mutually significant (α=0.05). Results: According to the experimental results, the mean marginal fit of the 3DP group was 71.9 ㎛, and the LWC group was 55.3 ㎛. The means of the two groups were found to be significantly different (p<0.001) in the results of the independent sample t-test. Conclusion: The marginal fit of fixed dental prostheses produced by 3DP technology was examined with values greater than those fabricated by traditional technology. However, as it appeared to be a value within the range of clinically acceptable range recommended by numerous studies, it was determined that clinical application would be feasible.

  • Estradiol-17${\beta}$($E_2$) levels in the blood were estimated according to varying the time and amount of the administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$. $Clomid^{(R)}$ were administered on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th menstrual day corresponding to the recruitment period and on the 5th menstrual day corresponding to the selection period of the ovarian follicles, respectively. And $Clomid^{(R)}$ were administered 50 mg, 100 mg and 150 mg/day, repectively. The effects of the sequential HMG to $E_2$ levels in the blood were also estimated. The results were as following : 1. Blood $E_2$ levels according to the day and amount of administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ were the highest in the group 3(D $2{\sim}6$, 150 mg/day, with HMG) and the lowest in the group 6(D $5{\sim]9$, 50 mg/day, without HMG). $E_2$ levels showed increasing tendency to 0 day. 2. In the cases of the administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ during the $2nd{\sim}6th$ menstrual day, $E_2$ levels according to the amount were similar among groups and showed increasing tendency daily. 3. In the cases of administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ during the $2nd{\sim}6th$ menstrual day, $E_2$ levels according to the sequential HMG independent of the amount of $Clomid^{(R)}$ were higher in the with HMG group than without HMG groups. 4. In the case of the administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ during the $5th{\sim}9th$ menstrual day, $E_2$ levels according to the amount were the highest in the 100 mg/day group and the lowest in the 50mg/day group. 5. In the cases of administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ independent of the amount during the 5th${\sim}$9th menstrual day, $E_2$ levels according to the sequential HMG were higher in the with HMG group than without HMG group. 6. $E_2$ levels according to the amount independent of the day of the administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ were the highest in the 100 mg/day group and 150 mg/day, 50 mg/day group in low sequence. 7. $E_2$ levels according to the sequential HMG independent of the day and amount of the administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ were higher in the with HMG group than the without HMG group. 8. $E_2$ levels according to the day of the administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ independent of the amount of $Clomid^{(R)}$ and sequential HMG were the highest in the group D 2${\sim}$6 and the lowest in the group D 5${\sim}$9. According to the above results, there were higher $E_2$ levels in the group with sequential HMG than without HMG. Therefore, the hypothesis, postulated initially by the author, was not verified that sequential HMG would not affect the $E_2$ levels which were related to the process of the selection of the ovarian follicle in the connection with 'FSH window'. Because it may be the stimulation after the selection of later predominant follicle. And the highest level of $E_2$ was estimated in the $Clomid^{(R)}$ 150 mg/day group with sequential HMG on the 2nd${\sim}$6th day, and the higher levels were estimated in the 2nd${\sim}$6th day, 3rd${\sim}$7th day and 4th${\sim}$8th day groups than the 5th${\sim}$9th day group. The lower levels were estimated in the $Clomid^{(R)}$ 50 mg/day group without HMG than 100 mg/day and 150 mg/day on the 5th${\sim}$9th day. Therefore, further study will be needed that combines analyses of the E2 levels in the blood according to the various administration of $Clomid^{(R)}$ with or without sequential HMG and determination of the numbers and size of the ovarian follicles by ultrasonogram.

  • Purpose: To assess independent prognostic factors for lymph node-negative metastatic gastric cancer patients following curative resection is valuable for more effective follow-up strategies. Materials and Methods: Among 1,874 gastric cancer patients who received curative resection, 967 patients were lymph node-negative. Independent prognostic factors for overall survival in lymph node-negative gastric cancer patients grouped by tumor invasion depth (early gastric cancer versus advanced gastric cancer) were explored with univariate and multivariate analyses. Results: There was a significant difference in the distribution of recurrence pattern between lymph node-negative and lymph nodepositive group. In the lymph node-negative group, the recurrence pattern differed by the depth of tumor invasion. In univariate analysis for overall survival of the early gastric cancer group, age, macroscopic appearance, histologic type, venous invasion, lymphatic invasion, and carcinoembryonic antigen level were significant prognostic factors. Multivariate analysis for these factors showed that venous invasion (hazard ratio, 6.695), age (${\geq}59$, hazard ratio, 2.882), and carcinoembryonic antigen level (${\geq}5$ ng/dl, hazard ratio, 3.938) were significant prognostic factors. Multivariate analysis of advanced gastric cancer group showed that depth of tumor invasion (T2 versus T3, hazard ratio, 2.809), and age (hazard ratio, 2.319) were prognostic factors on overall survival. Conclusions: Based on our results, independent prognostic factors such as venous permeation, carcinoembryonic antigen level, and age, depth of tumor invasion on overall survival were different between early gastric cancer and advanced gastric cancer group in lymph node-negative gastric cancer patients. Therefore, we are confident that our results will contribute to planning follow-up strategies.
