  • Direct bonded restoration with composite resin is one of the few areas which the achievement and result are available in chair side. Especially free-hand bonding technique and incremental technique give us challengeable opportunity for restoring severely damaged anterior teeth. If clinicians have keen sense of observation to evaluate polychromatic characteristics of natural teeth, hue, chroma, value, translucency, opacity and correlate the observation result with various kinds of composite resins, they will have privilege to share joy from restoring damaged anterior teeth in chair side immediately.

  • The incremental parsing technique plays an important role in language-based environment which allows the incremental construction of a program. It improves the performance of a system by reanalyzing only the changed part of a program. The conventional incremental parsing uses the stack data structure in order to store the parsing information. In this paper, we suggest a threaded tree construction algorithm which parse by adding the threaded node address instead of using a stack data structure. We also suggest an incremental threaded tree construction which has incremental parsing process of five steps using the constructed threaded tree.

  • It was shown in the previous study (Lee and Bertero 1993) that incremental collapse can lead to the exhaustion of the plastic rotation capacity at critical regions in a structure when subjected to the number of load cycles and load intensities as expected during maximum credible earthquakes and that this type of collapse can be predicted using the shakedown analysis technique. In this study, a minimum-weight design methodology, which takes into account not only the prevention of this incremental collapse but also the requirements of the serviceability limit states, is proposed by using the shakedown analysis technique and a nonlinear programming algorithm (gradient projection method).

  • Objectives: The present study aimed to evaluate the survival rate and clinical performance of class 1 composite restorations restored with the Filtek Bulk Fill composite material using either the bulk fill technique or the incremental technique at baseline (1 week) and at 3, 6 and 12 months of follow-up. Materials and Methods: Forty-two patients with at least 2 carious teeth were selected. Following randomization, one tooth was restored with the Filtek Bulk Fill composite using the incremental fill technique, and the other tooth was restored with the same material using the bulk fill technique. Patients were recalled for follow-up at baseline (1 week) and 3, 6, and 12 months and evaluated using the FDI criteria. Results: The data were analyzed using the McNemar χ2 test. No statistically significant differences were found between the scores of teeth restored with either technique. At baseline and at 3, 6, and 12 months of follow-up; there were no significant difference in the clinical status of both groups of restorations. Conclusions: Within the limitations of this study, using the bulk fill technique for restorations with the Filtek Bulk Fill material seems to be equally efficient to using the incremental fill technique.

  • A simple and robust methodology is presented to determine the location and amount of crack in beam like structures based on the incremental particle swarm optimization technique. A comparison is made for assessing the performance of standard particle swarm optimization and the incremental particle swarm optimization technique for detecting crack in structural members. The objective function is formulated using the measured natural frequency of the intact structure and the frequency obtained from the finite element simulation. The outcomes of the simulated results demonstrate that the developed method is capable of detecting and estimating the extent of damages with satisfactory precision.

  • Global postbuckling analysis is accomplished for one-dimensional and two-dimensional delaminations. A new finite element model, which can be used to model the global postbuckling analysis of one-dimensional and two-dimensional delaminations, is presented. In order to calculate the strain energy release rate, geometrically nonlinear analysis is accomplished, and the incremental crack closure technique is introduced. To check the effectiveness of the finite element models and the incremental crack closure technique, the simplified closed-form sloution for a through-the-width delamination with plane strain condition is derived and compared with the finite element result. The finite element results show good agreement with the closed-foul1 solutions. The present method was extended to calculate the strain energy release rate for two-dimensional delamination. For a symmetric circular delamination, the strain energy release rate shows great variation along the delamination front. and the delamination growth appears to occur perpendicular to the loading direction.

  • Generally, the existing watermarking techniques for copyright protection of a digital image are fragile in geometric distortion and all watermark extractions need the same time regardless of degree of distortion. In this paper, we propose the incremental watermarking technique that used a Complex Wavelet Transform(CWT) in order to solve these problems. The proposed incremental watermarking technique embeds a watermark in a phase component after a CWT with an original image, and a watermark is extracted from an watermarked image by stages. A watermark owner can insist on copyright of an image after comparing a correlation between the extracted watermark and the original watermark if it is larger than the threshold. Also, the incremental watermark extraction determines the extraction time of a watermark by the level of distortion. The proposed technique through performance evaluation displayed that it was robust in geometric distortion than the existing watermarking technique.

  • Incremental converters provide a solution for such measurement applications, as they retain most of the advantages of conventional ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ converters, and yet they are capable of offset-free and accurate conversion. Most of the previous research on incremental converters was for single-channel and dc signal applications, where they can perform extremely accurate data conversion with more than 20-bit resolution. In this paper, a design technique for implementing multi-channel incremental data converters to convert narrow bandwidth ac signals is discussed. It incorporates the operation principle, topology, and digital decimation filter design. The theoretical results are verified by simulation results.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid decode-amplify-forward incremental cooperative diversity protocol using SNR-based relay selection. In the proposed protocol, whenever destination unsuccessfully receives the source's signal, one of relays that exploit hybrid decode-amplify-forward technique is chosen to retransmit the signal. We derive approximate closed-form expressions of outage probability and average channel capacity. Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to verify the theoretical results and compare the performance of the proposed protocol with the direct transmission protocol and conventional incremental relaying protocols.

  • As the power of hardware has improved, there have been numerous researches in processing concurrently using multitasking method. The incremental evaluation is the evaluation method of reevaluating only affected parts instead of reevaluating overall program when the program has been changed. It is necessary to do more studies that improve the efficiency of concurrent incremental evaluation to do multitasking using multi-threading of Java not to do in parallel using multiprocessor. In this paper, the dependency in the dependency chart is based on the attribute that describes the real value of the variable that directly affects the semantics, thereby doing efficient evaluation. So using the dependency, this paper presents the concurrent incremental evaluation algorithm for Java Languages and proves its correctness, analyzing the efficiency of concurrent incremental evaluation by the simulation.
