An Exploring Study on the Evaluation Strategies of the Extra-Curricula Area for Admission to a University using SWOT Analysis (SWOT 분석을 통한 대학 입학 전형에서 비교과 영역 평가 전략 탐색)

  • This study aims to analyze the factors of the extra-curricula area in personal school performance record and propose the practical strategies for entrance examination affairs on this area. To address this goal, we have applied a SWOT analysis with related documents and research results. We found out five strengths: (S1) Link the students' experience to right people for the university, (S2) Quantitative Indicators, (S3) Qualitative Indicators, (S4) Link to other evaluation factors, and (S5) Analysis of Human Resource. The weakness included: (W1) Fairness, (W2) Reliability, (W3) Difficulties to set standards, (W4) Difficulties to set environments, and (W5) Lack of systemic experience of an evaluation. We also discovered five opportunities (O1) Recognition of public education, (O2) The need of national support, (O3) The importance of autonomy, (O4) Specialization, and (O5) Networks. Finally, threat factors consisted of: (T1) Frequent change of educational policy, (T2) Increasing of private education, (T3) Lack of information and preparation time, and (T4) The accuracy and reliability of personal school records. Based on these results, we suggested practical strategies with these four dimensions: S-O, W-O, S-T, and W-T.

High Resolution ISAR Imaging Based on Improved Smoothed L0 Norm Recovery Algorithm

  • In radar imaging, a target is usually consisted of a few strong scatterers which are sparsely distributed. In this paper, an improved sparse signal recovery algorithm based on smoothed l0 (SL0) norm method is proposed to achieve high resolution ISAR imaging with limited pulse numbers. Firstly, one new smoothed function is proposed to approximate the l0 norm to measure the sparsity. Then a single loop step is used instead of two loop layers in SL0 method which increases the searching density of variable parameter to ensure the recovery accuracy without increasing computation amount, the cost function is undated in every loop for the next loop until the termination is satisfied. Finally, the new set of solution is projected into the feasible set. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the several popular methods both in terms of the reconstruction performance and computation time. Real data ISAR imaging obtained by the proposed algorithm is competitive to several other methods.

EFFECTS OF THE FREE SURFACE ON THE FLOW PATTERN PAST A SQUARE CYLINDER (정방형 실린더 주위 유동패턴에 대한 자유수면의 영향)

  • The characteristics of flow past a square cylinder submerged under the free surface have been numerically studied. An immersed boundary method was adopted for implementation of the cylinder cross-section in a Cartesian grid system. Also, a level-set method was used to capture the interface of the two fluids. The case for Reynolds number 150 was examined. At the specific Reynolds number, by varying the gap ratio(0.25, 0.40, 0.55, 0.70, 1.00, 1.50, 2.50, 5.00) the effects of the free surface on the force coefficients and Strouhal number of vortex shedding were identified. The presence of the free surface very close to the cylinder significantly affects the shedding pattern, resulting in considerable deviation of the force coefficients and Strouhal number from those of the single-phase flow. In addition, the influence of Froude number was considered in this study. By increasing Froude number(0.2-0.4), flow topology change was identified at the specific gap ratios(0.40, 0.70, 1.50, 5.00).

  • The Delaunay triangular net is primarily characterized by a balance of the whole by improving divided triangular patches into a regular triangle, which closely resembles an equiangular triangle. A triangular net occurring in certain, point-clustered, data is unique and can always create the same triangular net. Due to such unique characteristics, Delaunay triangulation is used in various fields., such as shape reconstruction, solid modeling and volume rendering. There are many algorithms available for Delaunay triangulation but, efficient sequential algorithms are rare. When these grids involve a set of points whose distribution are not well proportioned, the execution speed becomes slower than in a well-proportioned grid. In order to make up for this weakness, the ids are divided into sub-grids when the sets are integrated inside the grid. A method for finding a mate in an incremental construction algorithm is to first search the area with a higher possibility of forming a regular triangular net, while the existing method is to find a set of points inside the grid that includes the circumscribed sphere, increasing the radius of the circumscribed sphere to a certain extent. Therefore, due to its more efficient searching performance, it takes a shorer time to form a triangular net than general incremental algorithms.

Effect of Non-lattice Oxygen Concentration and Micro-structure on Resistance Switching Characteristics in Nb-doped HfO2 by DC Magnetron Co-Sputtering

  • In this study, we investigated that the resistance switching characteristics of Nb-doped HfO2 films with increasing Nb doping concentration. The Nb-doped HfO2 based ReRAM devices with a TiN/Nb-doped HfO2/Pt/Ti/SiO2 were fabricated on Si substrates. The Nb-doped HfO2 films were deposited by reactive dc magnetron co-sputtering at $300^{\circ}C$ and oxygen partial ratio of 60% (Ar: 16sccm, O2: 24sccm). Microstructure of Nb-doped HfO2 films and atomic concentration were investigated by XRD, TEM, and XPS, respectively. The Nb-doped HfO2 films showed set/reset resistance switching behavior at various Nb doping concentrations. The process voltage of forming/set is decreased and whereas the initial current level is increased in doped HfO2 films. However, the switching properties of Nb-doped HfO2 were changed above the specific doping concentration of Nb. The change of resistance switching behavior depending on doping concentration was discussed in terms of concentration of non-lattice oxygen and micro-structure of Nb-doped HfO2.

  • With the increasing use of multimedia technologies, image compression requires higher performance as well as new functionality in the informationized society. Specially, in the specific area of still image encoding in embedded system, a new standard, JPEG2000 that improve various problem of JPEG was developed. This paper proposed a method that reduce quantity of data delivered in EBCOT(Embedded Block Coding with Optimized Truncation) process using SPIHT(Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees) Algorithm to optimize selection of threshold from feature of wavelet transform coefficients and to remove sign bit in LL area for the increment of compression efficiency on JPEG2000. The experimental results showed the proposed algorithm achieves more improved bit rate in embedded system.

  • Today, the use of the open source software is rapidly increasing. But, it is also true that the quality aspect of the open source software is not being considered seriously enough. As we see, the future prospect of the open source software seems to demand the development of a set of quality assessment technology for the open source software due to the current status of quality problems and sustained growth in its usage. Therefore, in this study a set of open source assessment models are analyzed to establish evaluation criteria, with which the open source software are to be evaluated.

  • As increasing demand for the living environment to promote social health, this study focused on consumers customized rental housing community space. Set the community spatial planning objectives and strategies shown in previous studies to the conceptual model for evaluation of community space. Based on the planning methods and standards of consumers custom community facilities, we analyzed the Seoul consumer customized public rental housing nine cases. Because almost located in the small vacant lot, they had limitations as a base for the local community. Nevertheless, through the arrangement of the building, Child care households increase the chance of contact with the neighbors. In elderly households, welfare facilities strengthen the character of as a base for local community. 1-2 person households situated close to the cultural facilities, by installing a hobby room and gym, was judged to be able to promote the community. Consumer custom rental housing community space evaluation items presented in this study, was set up by analysis of the conceptual model for evaluation of community space and implications of the 9 cases.

Cure Behavior, Compression Set and Dynamic Mechanical Properties of EPDM/NBR Blend Vulcanizates (EPDM/NBR 블렌드 가황체의 가교 거동, 영구 압축 줄음율 및 동적 기계적 성질)

  • The ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) blends with acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) were prepared by mechanical mixing method. Mooney viscosity, cure behaviors, compression set and dynamic mechanical properties were subsequently examined. Dynamic characteristics of the entire blends determined from a Rheovibron generally showed two glass transitions (T'$_{g}$s), -43$^{\circ}C$ and -4$^{\circ}C$ for NBR and EPDM, respectively. The tan $\delta$ peak monotonically shifted toward the higher temperature with increasing NBR content. It was also found that the optimum cure time was significantly decreased with loading of NBR.

  • The increasing interests on patents have led many individuals and companies to apply for many patents in various areas. Applied patents are stored in the forms of electronic documents. The search and categorization for these documents are issues of major fields in data mining. Especially, the keyword extraction by which we retrieve the representative keywords is important. Most of techniques for it is based on vector space model. But this model is simply based on frequency of terms in documents, gives them weights based on their frequency and selects the keywords according to the order of weights. However, this model has the limit that it cannot reflect the relations between keywords. This paper proposes the advanced way to extract the more representative keywords by overcoming this limit. In this way, the proposed model firstly prepares the candidate set using the vector model, then makes the graph which represents the relation in the pair of candidate keywords in the set and selects the keywords based on this relationship graph.
