  • The cost of procurement in construction projects varies depending on the type of project, but the proportion of the cost component is very large. Therefore, efficient procurement system operation affects the success of the project. However, difficulties arise in procurement management due to problems such as availability of data due to limited information, inaccurate scheduling and integration of costs. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a procurement management system to help efficient communication decision by combining Big Data which can analyze a lot of information and Block Chain technology which can secure information and record reliability to satisfy the above requirements. The results of this study are used to develop a system to develop academically improved procurement management system and practically to develop a system to secure business competitiveness and to facilitate rapid communication among project participants.

MASF 적용을 위한 계층적 움직임 추정 기법 (Hierarchical Motion Estimation Method for MASF)

  • MASF는 영상신호의 잡음제거나 시간축 주파수대역 제한의 목적에 이용을 위하여 제안된 일종의 시간필터이다. 영상신호는 2차원 공간과 시간으로 구성되어 있는 3차원 신호로서 MASF는 영상의 움직임 정보로부터 영상신호의 시간에 따른 변화 정보를 공간 영역에서 필터링하는 기법이다. 따라서 부정확한 움직임이 MASF에 이용될 경우 필터링 결과는 왜곡된 값을 갖는다. 현재, MASF에 이용하고 있는 움직임 추정 방법은 블록 정합 알고리듬으로 블록단위의 움직임을 추정한 후에 2차 선형보간으로 각 화소단위의 움직임을 계산하는 방법이다. 그러나 이 방법은 영상 시퀀스 내에 있는 물체의 움직임이 탐색범위를 넘어서거나 영상내에 많은 잡음이 있을 경우에 잘못된 움직임을 추정할 수 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 부정확한 움직임이 MASF에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 분석결과를 바탕으로 계층적 움직임 추정 방법을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과를 보면 제안된 방식을 MASF에 이용하므로서 탐색 범위를 벗어나는 큰 움직임이 있을 경우나 많은 잡음이 포함된 상황에서도 신뢰할 만한 필터링 결과를 얻을 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

A survey of patients' perspectives of steroid injection (ppyeojusa) in Korea

  • Background: Steroid injections are commonly used in pain clinics to relieve pain and treat inflammation. In Korea, these steroid injections are well known as 'ppyeojusa', which means to inject into the bone in Korean. Some patients often have a negative perception of this treatment method due to inaccurate information about the treatment and side effects of steroids. The purpose of this study is to investigate patients' perception and knowledge of ppyeojusa. Methods: A questionnaire about ppyeojusa was completed by patients who visited one of the pain clinics in nine university hospitals, from August 1 to September 10, 2017. Results: Three-hundred seventy-four patients completed the survey. Eighty-five percent of patients had had ppyeojusa, and 74% of the respondents had heard of ppyeojusa from the mass media, friends or relatives. Only 39% of the patients answered that this injection was safe without side effects if properly spaced. Of the patients surveyed, 21% responded that ppyeojusa are "injections into the bone"; while 15% responded that ppyeojusa are "terrible injections that melted 'the bone if used a lot'". Half of the patients did not know what the active constituent is in ppyeojusa. If steroid injections are advised by the pain specialists, 89% of the patients would consent. Conclusions: Most pain clinic patients have heard of ppyeojusa. Most patients obtained information about ppyeojusa from mass media, rather than their physicians. Therefore, it is likely that most patients have inaccurate knowledge.

Channel Estimation for Mobile OFDM systems by LS Estimator based Kalman Filtering Algorithm

  • In OFDM systems, mobile channel degrades the system performance seriously. Therefore, channel estimation technique is required to compensate for the degradation from the channel effects. However, conventional channel estimations in frequency domain induce ICI which is induced from Doppler frequency. In addition, a linear interpolation method causes inaccurate channel estimation. In order to minimize the effect of the interference and interpolation error, the proposed method combines LS method and Kalman filtering algorithm. Channel impulse response is adaptively tracked by Kalman filtering based on the information from LS estimator. Simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the proposed channel estimation over mobile channel environment. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively compensate for channel degradation.

  • An image processing and decision making method for the Automatic Surveillance System is proposed. The aim of our Automatic Surveillance System is to detect a moving object and make a decision on whether it is human or not. Various object features such as the ratio of the width and the length of the moving object, the distance dispersion between the principal axis and the object contour, the eigenvectors, the symmetric axes, and the areas if the segmented region are used in this paper. These features are not the unique and decisive characteristics for representing human Also, due to the outdoor image property, the object feature information is unavoidably vague and inaccurate. In order to make an efficient decision from the information, we use a fuzzy rules base system ai an approximate reasoning method. The fuzzy rules, combining various object features, are able to describe the conditions for making an intelligent decision. The fuzzy rule base system is initially constructed by heuristic approach and then, trained and tasted with input/output data Experimental result are shown, demonstrating the validity of our system.

  • It has been widely accepted that expert systems must reason from multiple sources of information that is to some degree evidential - uncertain, imprecise, and occasionally inaccurate - called evidential information. Evidence theory (Dempster/Shafet theory) provides one of the most general framework for representing evidential information compared to its alternatives such as Bayesian theory or fuzzy set theory. Many expert system applications require evidence to be specified in the continuous domain - such as time, distance, or sensor measurements. However, the existing evidence theory does not provide an effective approach for dealing with evidence about continuous variables. As an extension to Strat's pioneeiring work, this paper provides a new combination rule, a new method for mass function transffrmation, and a new method for rendering joint mass fuctions which are of great utility in evidence theory in the continuous domain.

  • The quality of document image captured from electronic display might be worse when it is compared with document image captured from paper. The problem appears because of Moir? noise. This problem can lead to achieve inaccurate intermediate result for further image processing. This paper proposes a method to remove Moir? noise of document images captured from electronic display. The proposed algorithm is separated in two parts. In the first step, it corrects the text area region (foreground) with small area of smoothing. Then, it corrects the background area with large area of smoothing.

On Rate-adaptive LDPC-based Cross-layer SVC over Bursty Wireless Channels

  • Recent studies have indicated that a significant improvement in wireless video throughput can be achieved by Cross Layer Design with Side-information (CLDS) protocols. In this paper, we derive the operational rate of a CLDS protocol operating over a realistic wireless channel. Then, a Rate-Distortion (R-D) empirical model for above-capacity Scalable Video Coding (SVC) is deduced to estimate the loss of video quality incurred under inaccurate rate estimation scenarios. Finally, we develop a novel Unequal Error Protection (UEP) scheme which leverages the characteristics of LDPC codes to reduce the distortion of video quality in case of typically-observed burst wireless errors. The efficacy of the proposed rate adaptation architecture over conventional protocols is demonstrated by realistic video simulations using actual IEEE 802.11b wireless traces.

모바일 작업을 위한 수정된 GOMS-model에 대한 연구 (Modified GOMS-Model for Mobile Computing)

  • GOMS model is a cognitive modeling method of human performance based on Goal, Operators, Methods, Selection rules. GOMS model was originally designed for desktop environment so that it is difficult for GOMS model to be implemented into the mobile environment. In addition, GOMS model would be inaccurate because the original GOMS model was based on serial processing, excluding one of most important human information processing characteristics, parallel processing. Therefore this study was designed to propose a modified GOMS model including mobile computing and parallel processing. In order to encompass mobile environment, an operator of 'look for' was divided into 'visual move to' and 'recognize' whereas 'point to' and 'click' were combined into 'tab.' The results showed that newly introduced operators were necessary to estimate more accurate mobile computing behaviors. In conclusion, modified-GOMS model could predict human performance more accurately than the original GOMS model in the mobile computing environment.

Application of Kalman Filter to Cricket based Indoor localization system

  • Cricket is an excellent indoor location system and it can successfully solve many critical problems such as user privacy, decentralized administration. But in some practical applications, Cricket sometimes didn't provide location with enough accuracy, and was unable to determine when it was giving inaccurate information. For getting high-accuracy tracking performance from location data contaminated with noise, some types of filters are required. Kalman Filter is an efficient recursive filter that estimates the state of a dynamic system from a series of incomplete and noisy measurement. The filter is very powerful in the field of autonomous and assisted navigation. In this paper, we carry out comparative studies to validate the performance of the application of Kalman Filter to Cricket based localization system.
