  • Purpose: Most if buildings need various repair works for preventing or delaying the deterioration which gives rise to affect the living condition or function after constructed. Therefore, a long-term repair schedule should be planned and a repair cost is required. In this paper, it aimed at providing the statistical forecast model for a repair cost in roof water-proofing work and elevator work using statistical approach with three variables such as number of household, management area and a elapsed year. Data are collected in apartment housings which are located in Seoul area and conducted with interview and questionnaire sheet. Each analyzed work is divided into a partly work and fully work. Results of this study are shown that, first, the regression model takes a multiplying type like a Cobb-Douglas function and is changed into the log-linear type to include the three variable simultaneously. Second, the goodness-of-fit of the repair cost forecasting model has a good statistics in determinant's coefficient and Dubin-Watson value. Third, the management area is stronger factor than other the number of household and an elapsed year in roof water-proofing work and elevator work.

  • The purpose of this study construct water-facility Database and to develop its management system using GSIS. We used route system and event table that are data model in GSIS for the construction of water valves on water facility pipe. A water-facility management system using GSIS was developed and was actually applied for the city of Yosu and compared with conventional water-facility management systems in terms of workability, information searching cost, and database management efficiency. The system has also been compared with those of two other local governments in terms of functions, process time, and conveniences. The generalization of the work model for water-facility system was also attempted based on the data collected from three local governments and it was revised by the work model of the wide area water-facility system. The generalized work model in this study was compared with other two local governments' work models. The generalized work model will enable local governments to develop more efficient and economical water-facility management system by GSIS in future.

  • In Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) has seen four problems rising in four aspects of property management of approximately 1,300 buildings scattered through put to country. To solve these, ground data for repair and replacement works to be conducted for prevention will be prepared and building maintenance system (hereinafter referred to as PBMS) intended to record related repair and replacement work histories and calculate LCC of the related these items will be developed. PBMS, a web-based system, will be developed for users' convenience and data monitoring in real time. To sum up, PBMS are expected to maximize efficiency in four aspects including the establishment of repair and replacement work plans for prevention, history management, DB for predicting future work to be occurred and enable the determination of priorities by being developing into facility condition assessment systems through the results of analysis of repair and replacement histories and LCC.

  • To identify the allergy problem of a 36-year old swimming instructor, who experiences heavy itching and rashes whenever she comes in contact with pool water. Patch tests were performed with European standard series and materials from the work floor. A positive patch test to aluminum chloride and flocculant was observed. Occupational dermatitis is, based on a contact allergy to aluminum chloride in the flocculant.

  • Automotive wheel bearing grease helps to reduce stresses and prevent wear of wheel bearings. But it is easily contaminated by water and other contaminants. In this study, we investigated the property change of automotive wheel bearing grease under water contamination. The result showed that some properties such as dropping point, work penetration and oxidation stability were not influenced by water content. However, most of properties such as work stability, water washout characteristics, leakage tendency, oil separation, evaporation loss and rust protection became worse after water was added. This is thought that added water makes the interaction weak between thickener and base oil of grease.

  • It does not find for solution by limitation of technological mechanism of existent of leakage maintenance material. So, it is paid for huge expense because continuous repeat maintenance work is consisting. Furthermore, it is indicated by big problem in construction work that is constructed by field experience that thing by definite and systematic theory is not with proper performance test and analysis up to now. Therefore, wish to measure physical performance change by various environment condition maintenance of structure and performance construction work aspect in that apply to water leakage maintenance material using of acrylic resin system water expansion, leakage maintenance material in this research, and present suitable form of construction work under these environment. also, wish to ready diversified remedy by oversea market opening.

  • The fluoride work management of water supply conveyance has been recommending by the WHO to prevent of tooth decay. Fluoridation of public water supplies has been practiced since 1945. The present approximately 67 countries reported community water fluoridation benefiting many cities. At our country, Fluoridation began in 1981 in Chongiu and Jinhea. In 2002, approximately 40 cities have large populations consuming fluoridated water. But Chongiu stopped fluoridation water works. Few public health measures have been accorded greater clinical and laboratory research, epidemiological study, clinical trials, and public attention than has water fluoridation. In this study, chemical analysis of Sodium Silicofluoride and Fluoride Feed Equipment analyzed. And this study proposed to Fluoride concentration experimental (lab. and field exp.), economics analysis, prevention effect. This study can be decided on the concentration of fluoride injection in Water Fluoridation. Hereafter, this study will be useful in safety and economics of Water Fluoridation in the future.

  • In the previous research, it has been found that water strider's legs are strongly water repellent due to hierarchical structure of hydrophobic setae on the legs. Here we propose an answer why they should be so hydrophobic by showing that the work required to remove a floating hydrophobic cylinder from an interface depends very sensitively on the contact angle of the cylinder: superhydrophobic cylinders require relatively little work to remove them from an interface. Also we experimentally study the work required to lift a leg out of water with different contact angles and compare our experimental results with a theoretical prediction.

  • This technical paper is proposing a sound concept in the application of the rehabilitation method of the water supply steel pipe in the large diameter ranged from 1,800mm to 3,500mm. There were conducted the experimental tests for the specimens as well as the real steel pipe of diameter 2,200mm. The water pressure ejected from nozzle tip should be at least 2,500bar to have the satisfied surface profiles required in the design criterion. The most difficult thing is to keep the water pressure at the nozzle tip as 2,500bar during the consecutive work in the interval of the work site more than 1km. It is found that the method suggested in this study is adequate method to meet the specified design criteria. The results of this study provide the useful information how to setup the equipments for the successful work. This method also provides not only the omission of the blasting process but also the effect of the budget reduction.
