In wireless sensor network (WSN) monitoring systems, redundant data from sluggish environmental changes and overlapping sensing ranges can increase the volume of data sent by nodes, degrade the efficiency of information collection, and lead to the death of sensor nodes. To reduce the energy consumption of sensor nodes and prolong the life of WSNs, this study proposes a dual layer intracluster data fusion scheme based on ring buffer. To reduce redundant data and temporary anomalous data while guaranteeing the temporal coherence of data, the source nodes employ a binarized similarity function and sliding quartile detection based on the ring buffer. Based on the improved support degree function of weighted Pearson distance, the cluster head node performs a weighted fusion on the data received from the source nodes. Experimental results reveal that the scheme proposed in this study has clear advantages in three aspects: the number of remaining nodes, residual energy, and the number of packets transmitted. The data fusion of the proposed scheme is confined to the data fusion of the same attribute environment parameters.

Wireless sensor networks have unbalanced energy consumption due to the convergence structure in which data is concentrated to sink nodes. To solve this problem, in the previous research, the relay node was placed between the source node and the sink node to merge the data before being concentrated to the sink node. However, selecting a relay node that does not consider the link quality causes packet loss according to the link quality of the reconfigured routing path. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a link cost calculation method for data reliability in routing path reconfiguration for relay node selection. We propose a link cost estimation formula considering the number of hops and RSSI as the routing metric value and select the RSSI threshold value through the packet transmission experiment between the sensor modules.
Wireless sensors in Internet of Things are getting closer to our daily lives. Since wireless sensors have limited battery power, energy efficient schemes should be employed. In this paper, we analyzed a system by using stochastic model and then solved an optimization problem, given that the gathered sensor data are aggregated before being transmitted to the sensor servers from a wireless sensor device. Using the developed model, we also proposed a optimal solution to determine the energy efficient sensor data transmitting interval. We also conducted performance evaluations of our proposals using numerical examples.
Despite the exponential throughput improvement in mobile communications systems, their ability to satisfy requirements of state-of-the-art and future applications of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is still under investigation. Challenges are mainly due to the inadequacy of third generation partnership project (3GPP) networks to support large amounts of devices simultaneously, while the number of AMI end-devices and the frequency of their data transmission increase with new AMI-based applications. In this introductory survey, innovative and future AMI applications and their communication requirements are first reviewed. Then, we identify challenges of 3GPP long term evolution (LTE) in enabling future AMI applications. More importantly, the latest improvements to LTE-A standard release 12 and 13 are reviewed and analyzed with regards to their potential to improve the quality of LTE-enabled AMI. It is found that 3GPP enhancements on machine type communications (MTC) standards will significantly enhance AMI communications. Beyond MTC specifications, non-MTC-specific enhancements such as carrier aggregation and multi-connectivity for user equipment will also contribute greatly to improving reliability and availability of AMI devices. The paper's focus is towards improved backhaul support for innovative and future AMI applications, beyond traditional automatic meter reading.
In Internet of Things (IoT), the aim of the nodes (called 'Things') is to exchange information with each other, whereby they gather and share information with each other through self decision-making. Therefore, we cannot apply existing aggregation algorithms of Wireless sensor networks that aim to transmit information to only a sink node or a central server, directly to the IoT environment. In addition, since existing algorithms aggregate information from all sensor nodes, problems can arise including an increasing number of transmissions and increasing transmission delay and energy consumption. In this paper, we propose the clustering and property based data exchange method for energy efficient information sharing. First, the proposed method assigns the properties of each node, including the sensing data and unique resource. The property determines whether the node can respond to the query requested from the other node. Second, a cluster network is constructed considering the location and energy consumption. Finally, the nodes communicate with each other efficiently using the properties. For the performance evaluation, TOSSIM was used to measure the network lifetime and average energy consumption.

In this paper deals with PON Remote monitoring solution using Reflecting Filter. The current FTTH-PON can not be monitored in real time that Optical cable fault and Quality degradation of Splitter. To solve this problem, Monitoring can make Feeder Network and Splitter that Reflecting filter development using the basic structure of Fiber Bragg grating. Reflecting Filter is Quality Monitoring System shall provide tools for user to view and analyze degradation of cables and splitter in particular predict any gradual component degradation(Optical cable bending, splice, connector, etc) before it becomes service impacting. The Reflecting Filter solution is splitter down and confirm the fault location of optical cable and it will send central control station can be monitored system an alarm to the OLT. In other words, wavelength side branches Mating existing communication affairs (Coupler) using the core of one optical wavelength for live monitoring two wavelengths and sends the subscriber side modem and aggregation switch device remotely using a reflective optical line filter monitoring the study of the system. this study can development of Reflecting filter improve the average processing time of Optical cable fault and efficient Maintenance of the network.
In this paper, a power-aware query processing using optimized distributed R-tree in a sensor network is proposed. The proposed technique is a new approach for processing range queries that uses spatial indexing. Range queries are most often encountered under sensor networks for computing aggregation values. The previous work just addressed the importance but didn't provide any efficient technique for processing range queries. A query processing scheme is thus designed for efficiently processing them. Each node in the sensor network has the MBR of the region where its children nodes and the node itself are located. The range query is evaluated over the region which intersects the geographic location of sensors. It ensures the maximum power savings by avoiding the communication of nodes not participating over the evaluation of the query.
Most of clustering schemes focusing on the energy efficiency have only a cluster head in each cluster, thus the energy consumption of cluster head in a cluster can rapidly increase. To reduce the energy consumption, recently, the dual-layered clustering which is separated a cluster ranges into two parts, i.e., data aggregation layer and data transmission layer, based on a sensor equipped with geographical positioning system (GPS), was proposed. However, the logical regions existing within the dual-layered clustering range can not distinguish efficiently. This scheme leads to many messages collision and transmission delay among member nodes. In this paper, to solve these problems, we propose a separated dual-layered routing scheme using the position information and the cluster radius. Proposed scheme clearly distinguish the dual-layered clustering range and gets the balanced number of member nodes in each cluster. Therefore, the proposed routing scheme could prolong the overall network life time about 10% compared to the previous two layered clustering scheme and LEACH.

Next Generation Networks (NGN) is defined as IP-based networks with multi-services and with multi-access networks. A variety of services and access technologies are co-existed within NGN. Therefore there are numerous transport technologies such as Differentiated Services (DiffServ), Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS), and the combined transport technologies. In such an environment, flows are aggregated and de-aggregated multiple times in their end-to-end paths. In this research, a method for calculating end-to-end delay bound for such a flow, provided that the information exchanged among networks regarding flow aggregates, especially the maximum burst size of a flow aggregate entering a network. We suggest an admission control mechanism that can decide whether the requested performance for a flow can be met. We further verify the suggested calculation and admission algorithm with a few realistic scenarios.

The goal of wireless sensor networks is to collect sensing data on specific region over wireless communication. Sink node gathers all local sensing data, processes and transmits them to users who use sensor networks. Generally, senor nodes are low-cost, low power devices with limited sensing, computation and wireless communication capabilities. And sensor network applies to multi-hop communication on large-scale network. As neighboring sensor nodes have similar data, clustering is more effective technique for 'data-aggregation'. In cluster formation technique based on multi-hop, it is necessary that the number of cluster member nodes should be distributed equally because of the balance of cluster formation To achieve this, we propose a method to customize cluster member nodes for energy-efficiency in wireless sensor networks.
