  • In the process of image acquisition, transmission and storage, image degradation occurs due to various reason, the mainly reason is noise. To restore basic methods used images of impulse noise pollution by SM, AF, CWMF. In this paper, using the modified filter to remove impulse noise. The method consists of detection and noise filtering of the noise signal. For a non-noise signal is intact, the noise signal is filtered according to the algorithm. And then through the simulation is compared with known basic methods, with PSNR as judged by reference.

  • This paper proposes an impulse response shortening algorithm applicable to decision feedback equalization of single carrier wideband signal. When he impulse response shortening methods for narrowband signaling are applied to single carrier wideband signals, they result in noise enhancement problem, significantly deterioriting the receiver performance. This problem can be alleviated by educing the eigenvalue spread ratio of the impulse response, which can be achieved by adding additive white noise with small variance to the impulse response of the channel. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified by computer simulation.

  • The twin-impulse wave discharged from two parallel tubes is investigated to see flow patterns, compared with the single impulse wave. In the present study, the merging phenomena and propagation characteristics of the impulse waves are investigated by experiment and numerical computation. The Harten-Yee's total variation diminishing scheme is used to solve the unsteady, two-dimensional, compressible, Euler equations. The Mach number Ms of incident shock wave is lower than 1.5 and the distance between the tubes is between 1.2 and 4.0. In the shock tube experiment, the twin impulse waves are visualized by a Schlieren optical system in order to validate the computational result. It is shown that on the symmetric axis between two parallel tubes, the peak pressure produced by the twin impulse waves and its location strongly depend upon the tube distance and the incident shock Mach number, Ms. The predicted Schlieren images show a good agreement with the measured twin-impulse wave.

  • A computational work of the impulse wave which is discharged from the open end of a pipe is compared to the Lighthill\`s aeroacoustics theory. The second-order total variation diminishing(TVD) scheme is employed to solve the axisymmetric, compressible, unsteady Euler equations. The relationship between the initial compressure wave form and the resulting impulse wave is characterized in terms of the peak pressure. The overpressure, pressure gradient and wavelength of the initial compression wave are changed to investigate the influence of the initial compressure wave form on the peak pressure of impulse wave. The results obtained show that for the initial compression wave of a large wavelength and small pressure gradient the peak pressure of the impulse wave depends upon the wavelength and pressure gradient of compression wave, but for the initial compression wave of a short wavelength and large pressure gradient the peak pressure of the impulse wave is almost constant regardless of the wavelength and pressure gradient of compression wave. The peak pressure of the impulse wave is increased with an increase in the overpressure of the initial compression wave. The results from the numerical ana1ysis are well compared to the results from the aeroacoutics theory with a food agreement.

  • The propagation of the impulse wave discharged from the Inclined exit of a pipe is investigated through shock tube experiment and numerical computations. The pressure histories and directivities of the impulse wave propagating outside from the exit of pipe with several different configurations are analyzed for the range of the incident shock wave Mach number between 1.1 and 1.4. In the shock tube experiments, the impulse waves are visualized by a Schlieren optical system for the purpose of validation of computational work. Computations using the two-dimensional. unsteady, compressible, Euler equations are carried out to represent the experimented impulse waves. Computed Schlieren images predict the experimented impulse waves with a good accuracy. The results obtained show that for the radial direction the peak pressure of the impulse wave discharged depends upon the Inclined angle of the exit of the pipe. but for the axial direction it is almost constant regardless of the inclined angle of the pipe exit.

  • Image degradation caused by the impulse noise is generated in the process of image transmission and so on. It has been studied by many researchers in order to remove these noise. The representative impulse noise removal method includes SM filter. Though SM filter will indicate errors by the increasing of impulse noise density. Therefore, in this paper, in order to preserve the edges of the image, and reduce the distortion of the image, an improved adaptive median filter algorithm is proposed. In the simulation results, the algorithm showed excellent results in all several areas, and the PSNR is used as the criterion of evaluation.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis the 3 differential size of the interior space for impulse noise. To achieve this goal the 3 kinds (27, 35, $50m^3$) of interior space were performed comparing the impulse noise. Result of this study, the standard error of the mean peak sound pressure of value from 0.19 to 0.27dB and there was no significant difference (p<0.01). And B-duration is significant differences (P<0.01) range from 3.98 to 7.93ms. This is respectively less than 10ms. These findings are confirmed in accordance by the 3 differential space size of the indoor-impulse noise due to 0.3 dB or less, so there was no difference to the operational influence. And also below 100 Hz were found fundamental mode frequency analysis. Results were matched with calculated theoretical values.

  • In this paper, we propose the bilateral filter based on median value that can reduce random noise and impulse noise with minimal loss of contour information. In general, EO / IR camera to generate a random or impulse noise due to a number of reasons. This noise reduces the performance of detecting and tracking by signal processing. To reduce noise, our proposed bilateral filter sorts the values of the target pixel and the peripheral pixels, and extracts a median filter coefficients of the Gaussian type. Then to extract the Gaussian filter coefficient involved with the distance between the center pixel and the surrounding pixels. As using those filter coefficients, our proposed method can remove the various noise effectively while minimizing the loss of the contour information. To validate our proposed method, we present experimental results for several IR images.

  • The audio and image signal are corrupted by various noises in signal processing, many studies are being accomplished to restore those signals. In this paper, the algorithm is proposed to remove additive Gaussian noise and impulse noise at one dimension signal like an speech signal. The algorithm is composed to remove Gaussian noise after removing impulse noise. And the method using wavelet coefficient accumulation is used to remove the Gaussian noise, and the median filter based on element deviation is applied to remove the impulse noise. Also we compare existing methods using SNR(signal-to-noise ratio) as the standard of judgement of improvemental effect.

  • Images are often corrupted by impulse noise due to a noise sensor or channel transmission errors. The filter based on SVM(Support Vector Machine) and the improved adaptive median filtering is proposed to preserve image details while suppressing impulse noise for image restoration. Our approach uses an SVM impulse detector to judge whether the input pixel is noise. If a pixel is detected as a noisy pixel, the improved adaptive median filter is used to replace it. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed filter, extensive simulation experiments have been conducted under both salt-and-pepper and random-valued impulse noise models to compare our method with many other well known filters in the qualitative measure and quantitative measures such as PSNR and MAE. Experimental results indicate that the proposed filter performs significantly better than many other existing filters.
