인삼제품의 수출시장 (Export Markets for Ginseng Products)

  • The current size, characteristics. and channels of distribution of the offshore export (non North American) market for ginseng products are described. The apparent size of the worlds export market for ginseng products in 1987 is 3,363 tonnes. The major export markets for ginseng are Hong Kong (1,972.4 tonnes) and Japan (540.9 tonnes). The volume of ginseng imported into Hong Kong has doubled over the past five years from 976.3 tonnes in 1983 to 1,972.4 tonnes in 1987. This increase is reflective of an expanding Chinese market. In terms of products forms, the toast majority of ginseng imported into China is in root form, while Japan imports both red and white ginseng as well as ginseng beverages and medical products. Hong Kong is the destination of over 86f; of the volume of North American ginseng exported between 1983 and 1987. North American ginseng products are distributed by ginseng brokers or importers/exporters.

불법·부정 인삼 유통이 소비에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effects of Illegally Distributed Ginseng Products on Consumption)

  • Today, producers of ginseng spray prohibited fertilizers or use excessive amount of fertilizers whereas distributers either claim that they are selling domestic ginseng when in fact they are selling imported ginseng, cheat on the age or weight of ginseng, or mix domestic and imported ginseng. In terms of quality in comparison with foreign ginseng, 90% of the people surveyed responded that domestic ginseng is more efficacious. When asked whether they would purchase foreign ginseng products when they become available in the market, only one of the respondents responded that he or she would purchase foreign ginseng whereas 50 respondents or 81% of the total surveyed responded that they wouldn't purchase foreign ginseng. About half of the respondents answered that when Chinese red ginseng, ginseng, or wild ginseng products cultivated with harmful fertilizers become available in the market, they would either reconsider purchasing ginseng products or stop purchasing ginseng products all together. In order to develop the ginseng industry 20 respondents (25%) chose the establishment of the standards, 33 respondents (42%) chose marking the place of origin, 15 respondents (19%) quality improvement, 7 respondents (9%) research on the efficacy, and 4 respondents (5%) said improvement on the storage methods as the important factors of the ginseng industry. Considering the fact that 77% of the respondents selected either the standardization or marking of the place of origin, the consumers seem to be demanding reliability in the distribution of ginseng products. Therefore, those people who work in the industry such as the producers, distributors and others should have a sense of mission to develop ginseng, which is a gift from God, and do their best to produce and distribute ginseng products.

추출조건에 따른 인삼농축액 중의 잔류용매 및 무기물 함량 (Residual Solvents and Mineral Contents in Ginseng Extracts with Different Extracting Conditions)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the contents of residual solvents and mineral components(11 kinds) in ginseng extracts with different extracting conditions(5 types) and commercial ginseng extract products(domestic, imported). Fine root was extracted with solution having various ethanol concentration after hexane treatment. Among 5 type extracts, residual solvent(hexane) was detected ginseng extracts treated ethanol mixed with hexane. But extracts that dried after soaked in hexane wasn't detected hexane. Mineral components(Al, Mn, Fe, Cu and Zn) were detected in fine root and 5 types of extracts. The contents of mineral components between fine root and extracts with various extracting conditions were similar, however, extracts that dried after soaked in hexane showed the lower amount in Al, Fe, Pb than the others. In comparison with commercial ginseng ex-tract products(domestic, imported), the distribution pattern of mineral was similar but the contents were a little different.

일본의 최근 인삼수출입 동향 (Recent Trend of Import and Export of p. ginseng in Japan)

  • Recent trend of ginseng (p. ginseng) trade in Japan was analyzed. From 1984 white ginseng import increased continuously to 240% while export of red ginseng decreased to 29%. Red ginseng import increased until 1990 and decreased thereafter, resulting in 12% of total import ginseng in 1993 from 47% in 1990. During five years (1989∼1993) white ginseng import from Korea decreased from 44% to 14% of total white ginseng imported while import from China increased. Red ginseng import from China ranged 97 to l00% of total red ginseng and little change was shown during five years. Price of Korean ginseng was higher than that of China by 2.2 times for white and 6.6 times for red. The continuous decrease of Chinese ginseng price might affect import trend. Export price of red ginseng increased continuously and was higher than that of Korean red ginseng (1.95 times) and much higher than import price (20 times in 1993).

전자상거래기술을 기반으로 한 고려인삼 진품확인시스템 (Genuine guarantee system for true korean ginseng)

  • Lately, the Korean ginseng was confronted with the sale crisis in world markets from the various circumstance. One of important difficulties is overspreading of Korean ginseng imitative in foreign markets. In Korean markets also, chinese ginseng was imported illegally and manufactured as Korean ginseng, which was resulted in the damage of Korean ginseng brand. The most essential problem is misunderstanding of Korean ginseng's information in the foreigner. In this paper, we developed a genuine guarantee system to identify the true Korean ginseng through internet and geographic cording system of Korean ginseng products. This system can be applied to the enforcement of Korean ginseng sale to international markets.

홍삼 농축액의 원산지 판별을 위한 전자코 분석 (Analysis of Geographical Origin of Red Ginseng Extract Using Mass Spectrometer-based Electronic Nose)

  • 수입산과 국내산 홍삼농축액이 혼합비율에 따른 차이에 따른 원산지 판별가능성을 알아보기 위하여 MS-전자코를 이용하여 분석해 보았다. 수입산 홍삼 농축액과 국내산 홍삼농축액의 원산지 판별이 가능하였고 수입산과 국내산 홍삼농축액의 혼합비율에 따라 DF1값이 일정하게 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 관계식으로 볼때, 상관계수가 0.9951와 0.9656로 나타나 정확한 관계식을 토대로 원산지 판별에 적용 가능함을 보여주었다. 이러한 관계식을 토대로 미지의 시료와 함께 판별함수 분석할 경우 수입산과 국내산이 혼합된 제품의 원산지 및 혼합비율을 알아보는 것이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 인삼관련 환경이 급속히 변화하고 있는 실정에서 지금부터라도 우리의 인삼산업전략을 근본적으로 재검토하여 새로운 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있는 기회를 마련하는 것이 절실히 필요하다. 고려인삼과 육안으로 식별이 곤란한 위조삼과 유사품의 유통됨으로 인하여 세계에서 가장 큰 인삼시장인 홍콩에서 조차 고려인삼의 지위가 위축되고 있는 실정이다. 문제점은 위조삼에 그치지 않고 고려인삼의 왜곡된 정보에도 큰 원인이 있다. 본 논문에서는 현재 국제적으로 보호되고 있는 지리적 표지제도와 인터넷을 연계하여 고려인삼 진품을 확인할 수 잇도록 하고 고려인삼에 대한 정확한 정보를 제공함으로써 위조 및 유사 고려인삼과 관련된 문제를 해결하고 나아가 우리 농산물을 보호하여 농업경쟁력을 강화할 수 있는 방안과 전략을 제시한다.

의식주(衣食住)에 나타난 인삼의 상징성과 역사 전통 (Historical Reviews on Traditional Symbolism of Ginseng in Everyday Life)

  • Ginseng, a Korean native herb, has been a symbol of mystic cure-all which provides longevity benefits throughout Korean history. According to Chinese historical records, a major source of wild ginseng has been described as Korean peninsula, which is the most suitable ginseng production area, and the Manchu region near Mt. Baekdu and the Maritime Province. Since Tang dynasty period (618-917 CE), Chinese has also called ginseng as "Goryeo Ginseng", which is named after "Goguryeo" (37 BCE-668 CE), an ancient kingdom of Korea, from which they mainly imported the herb as the region was famous for its high quality of ginseng. To date, it refers to Korean ginseng. This study compares the medicinal properties of ginseng as stated in the ancient Korean medical books with the major Korean historical records regarding the usage of ginseng and its symbolism of longevity in everyday life. By contrasting these findings, we tried to figure out how the actual medicinal properties of ginseng and the anticipation of longevity are related. It was confirmed that the expectations about longevity were widely applied to everyday life. In addition, the study investigates the various usage of ginseng as a motive for decorative patterns and as an ingredient for daily products including snacks, health drinks, various types of food, clothing patterns, and so on. Finally, the usage of ginseng ingredients in the cosmetic products fulfilled the desire of Korean people to purchase, showing the aesthetic recognition and medicinal understandings about the herb. These findings suggest that ginseng is an important medicinal agent that not only symbolizes longevity and good health but also has a great influence on the lives of Koreans.

홍콩 국제 인삼시장의 수입수요 분석 (An Analysis of Import Demand for International Ginseng Market in Hong Kong)

  • 인삼 한 뿌리 생산하지 않는 홍콩은 국제 인삼시장의 중심지 역할을 하고 있다. 전 세계 인삼 수출의 70% 이상을 취급하면서 또한 이를 주변 국가로 재 수출하여 국가의 부를 창출하여 왔다. 이러한 홍콩 국제 인삼시장에서 한국산 고려인삼의 시장 점유율 하락으로 고려인삼의 존재가 점점 희박해지고 있다. 이에 홍콩 국제 인삼시장에서 한국산 고려 인삼과 다른 나라 인삼의 수입 현황을 분석하였다. 한국산 고려인삼이 다른 나라 삼에 비해 비싸게 팔리는 것으로 파악하였다. 그리고 홍콩 인삼 수입수요 분석에서는 한국산 고려인삼의 수입물량과 수입가격 변수가 홍콩 국제 인삼시장에서 다른 나라 인삼수입에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되어 졌다. 이는 한국산 고려인삼이 홍콩 국제 인삼시장에서 중요한 역할을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 중요한 역할 에 비해 홍콩으로 한국산 고려인삼 수출 물량의 감소는 안타까운 일이다. 홍콩 국제 인삼시장으로 한국산 고려인삼의 수출 확대에 다시 한번 우리 모두 지혜를 모아야 할 때이다. 분석 결과처럼 한국산 고려인삼의 수출가격이 중요한 변수이므로 다양한 가격 전략에 따른 수출 마케팅 전략이 수립 되어야 한다. 더 나아가 적극적인 수출 마케팅 전략으로 고려인삼의 우수성을 꾸준히 홍보하며 객관적인 효능 연구 자료도 발표하여야 한다. 인삼 한 뿌리 생산하지 않는 홍콩이 국제 인삼시장의 물류 중심지이고 인삼 한 뿌리 생산하지 않은 스위스 제약회사 파마톤(지금은 독일 베링게 인겔하임) 의 연간 인삼제품 세계 수출액이 적어도 1억불 이상으로 고려인삼 종주국인 우리나라 인삼 총 수출액보다 많음을 다시 한번 생각해야겠다. 그리고 향후 WTO/DDA 협상이나 FTA 협상에 따른 험난한 파고에 우리 민족의 유산인 고려인삼을 어떻게 지켜 나갈 것인가를 우리 인삼인들이 모두 함께 고민해야할 문제이다.

일본における약초재배の 현황と 전망 (The Present Condition and the View of Herb Culture in Japan)

  • It was explained in detail that the present condition of herb culture in Japanese agriculture and the requirement of crude drugs of good and regulqr very hard hit by the market conditionof crude drugs taking ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer) and Coptis Rhizome (Coptis japon-ica Makino) as examples. It is not too mach to say that the market is now under the control ofcrude drugs imported from China. The main current of herb culture in Japan will be the con-tract agriculture that the seedlings of good and regular quality are received and are cultivateduntil the enough time, and the farm products are directly handed to the medicinal company fol-lowing the example of zedoary (Curcuma zedoaria Roscoe) .
