  • Suppressing residual vibrations of flexible materials cheaply is an important issue to increase productivity of automated factory using wafer or glass handling robots. In this paper, we present Linux/RTAI-based implementation of input shaping control for reducing residual vibrations of a mechanical system. Experimental results show that residual vibrations of the mechanical system are reduced up to 82% at a point-to-point linear motion.

  • The part family (PF) formation in a cellular manufacturing has been a key issue for the successful implementation of Group Technology (GT). Basically, a part has two different attributes; i.e., design and manufacturing. The respective similarity in both attributes is often conflicting each other. However, the two attributes should be taken into account appropriately in order for the PF to maximize the benefits of the GT implementation. This paper proposes a clustering algorithm which considers the two attributes simultaneously based on pareto optimal theory. The similarity in each attribute can be represented as two individual objective functions. Then, the resulting two objective functions are properly combined into a pareto fitness function which assigns a single fitness value to each solution based on the two objective functions. A GA is used to find the pareto optimal set of solutions based on the fitness function. A set of hypothetical parts are grouped using the proposed system. The results show that the proposed system is very promising in clustering with multiple objectives.

  • Recently, one of the most interesting issue in the intelligent robot and the industrial robot area is the design and an implementation of servo driver module based on motion network for hollow type joint module of all-in-one structure. In this paper, we designed and implemented for hollow type driver, and also verified the performance of the developed module through the experiment.

  • A transportation problem in Korea is a serious issue that has to be solved urgently in the motor era of 15 million vehicles. Recently ITS has been introduced to improve efficiency of the current roads because an excessive budget and a long term construction are needed to build new roads. Therefore the government enacted the law as of ITS and the in architecture. However, these ITS information services were oriented to mainly vehicles and drivers, not public entities such as bus driver, passengers and so on. Nowadays lots of local autonomous city introduced a public transportation information system (PTIS), and providing useful information for the public. For this PTIS, important design issues are to be focused on detecting and tracking technology of moving bus, and a wireless communication link to transmit the location information. This paper presents design models using several wireless communication methods, and an implementation case using a Wireless packet Data communication Network (WDN) to transmit bus location information at Seoul, Korea.

  • In various areas of the 4th industry, a big issue is software quality enhancement for stability and reliability of the smart software systems. After revising software promotion law at 2020, we must clearly define requirements and separate design parts and implementation parts of an all public software development contracts. In this study, we need to validate whether the final implementation of software is followed by the original design or not. To do this, we consider the design restoration through software visualization based on reverse engineering. Therefore we propose an UML design extraction and visualization method based on reverse engineering. Based on this, we may validate whether it is implemented according to the original design, and how much visualizes and includes the code the internal complexity for improvement of software quality.

  • Recently, with the widespread use of the Internet of Things (IoT), the service structure has been studied to interact with various service domains. A common way to interact with other service domains is to develop the APIs needed to interact on the platform. However, to use a common method, we consider many costs and resources as APIs can increase while adding connections from other service domains. To address this issue, we propose the design and implementation of a dynamic API platform. The proposed platform can dynamically create APIs when requesting service applications, depending on the target service domain. To demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed platform, we develop a COVID-19 weekly infection status, regional infection status, and vaccination status service using dynamic APIs from the Public Data Portal using the proposed dynamic API platform and Node-RED.

  • Purpose: The predominant approach for mitigating inadequate sampling rates has primarily involved bolstering the volume of education. This study aimed to curtail inadequate sampling rates through the implementation of continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities, tailoring effective methods to the unique needs of each institution. Methods: We developed a sample handling guidebook and implemented QI activities to address this issue. Results: These measures resulted in a 4.7% decrease in inadequate sampling rates, concurrently improving knowledge of sample handling and overall nurse satisfaction. We addressed the root causes of inadequate sampling before laboratory pre-processing by: 1) focusing on systematic rather than erratic errors through CQI activities, 2) revising the sample handling guide, and 3) delivering face-to-face education based on the specific needs of the nursing department. These changes resulted in an additional 0.6% decrease in the inadequate sampling rate. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that the implementation of CQI activities based on evidence derived from a multifaceted causal analysis significantly reduced the inadequate sampling rate compared to previous studies.

  • This paper presents one possible approach for liberalization of the radio spectrum based around spectrum usage rights (SURs) which are technology and usage neutral. This is challenging technically because of the complexity of defining rights which are flexible and technology-neutral while retaining sufficient safeguards against interference. The work presented here is part of an ongoing process of defining and testing SURs. Of com is currently considering SURs, though is not committed to implementing them at this stage, and will issue further discussion documents on this area in due course.
