  • 멀티미디어 데이터베이스 시스템에서는 멀티미디어 데이터를 질의하고 질의 결과를 어떻게 프리젠테이션 할 것인가에 대한 연구는 매우 중요하다. 또한 질의의 결과를 다양한 응용에서 사용하기 위해서는 보다 일반화된 형태로 질의결과를 제공해야 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 멀티미디어 페이퍼베이스 시스템에서 멀티미디어 프리젠테이션을 지원하는 MMSQL 질의처리기를 설계하고 구현하였다. 또한 질의 결과 프리젠테이션을 보다 일반화된 형태인 SMIL문서로 제공하도록 함으로써 질의 결과를 다양한 응용에서 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • In the electric power industry, It is important that the supply of energy must always be guaranteed. To satisfy these requirements, various forms of technologies are needed, such as RFID tag, reader, sensor network, middleware and so on. WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) technologies of the electric power industry are in the early stage and there is no clear guideline for developing electric facility management system using WSN. Relevant experience is limited, the challenge will be to derive requirement from business practice and to determine whether it is possible or not. To explore this issue, we focus on researching and field test of prototype system in Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO). In this paper we describe requirement from power industry. And we introduce design and implementation of the power facility monitoring system.

  • This paper describes the issue relating to the design and implementation of a high-precision vision system for monitor inspection. We present several monitor inspection algorithms which evaluate the geometric distrotions of the patterns on the inspection target monitor. Also, to inspect color distortion acquired form color CCD camera into the XYy coordinate, accurately. The proposed monitor inspection system is implemented on IBM PC/486, and the user interface is developed on microsoft windows to assist unskilled users for easy use. Using the developed vision system, Experiments on the inspection accuracy and speed were performed and the results are presented.

  • This exploratory study addressed the issue of effective EUC management, based on the sociotechnical theory. Extensive literature review gave birth to a set of critical success factors in EUC. With those factors, a basic EUC model was developed. Then the model was tested in the domestic industry to find its validity. It was also attemped to develop a structural equation model in which critical factors for sucessful implementation of EUC are arranged by the result of empirical survey. In the final model, technical support, computer experience, user control, and top management support were included as exogenous factors. Thses contructs were found to influence directly or indirectly three endogenous factors, user satisfaction, computer use, and performance.

  • Nowadays, a lot of enterprise completed the ERP implementation and these ERP-based enterprises consider the construction of WMS or already have done it. However the enterprises which Implemented WMS linked with ERP have many problems In the warehouse management and the reason ran be summarized In two poults First. In the integration point of view, only Interface issue between ERP and WMS was taken into account, therefore it was hard to reflect the phased process change. Second, a large number of WMS functions were tried to implement at the same tune and these attempts caused confusion and Instability which Is Interpreted as a main reason of the WMS failure. This paper presents the phased construction method for the successful implementation or WMS and in the integration point or view, the phased process change appears naturally

  • The broadband wireless access industry, which provides high-tate network connections to stationary sites, has matured to the point at which it now has a standard for second-generation wireless metropolitan area networks. IEEE Standard 802.16, with its WirelessMAN air interface, set the stage for widespread and effective deployments worldwide. This paper presents an implementation of media access control that can be applied to BWA (Broadband Wireless Access) system. Medium access control (MAC) is a key issue in multi-access networks where a common channel is shared by many users. The designed MAC prototype roughly consists of MAC Hardware and MAC Software. The MAC Hardware part includes timing process, MAC transmission control, MAC reception control, and CRC/HCS process. The MAC Software part includes control of MAC signaling, network interface, and Physical (PHY) control. The designed MAC protocol will be integrated with the PHY of BWA in future and we can test overall system performance of MAC and PHY.

  • Due to the popularity of mobile phones, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) content sharing in mobile phones is highly desirable, especially in a mobile data connection. In addition, there has been an increasing demand for content sharing applications for P2P communication in Android-based smartphones as ubiquitous mobile devices. However, due to wireless network limits, unstable characteristic and restricted storage space, mobile users confront challenges in establishing connections and sharing video frames with other users. To solve this issue, we propose an architectural design and implementation of key frame sharing application that uses Chord, a distributed lookup protocol to establish a content sharing platform for mobile devices, combined with the Chord SDK based on Android. Our proposed system enables users easily to share key information on video data in real-time over a wireless network without manual processing of devices which join or leave the group and cost associated with the 3G/4G network.

  • The purpose of the study is to develop an integrated knowledge management system for the domains of genome and nano-technology, in which terminology-based literature mining, knowledge acquisition, knowledge structuring, and knowledge retrieval are combined. The system supports integrating different types of databases (papers and patents, technologies and innovations) and retrieving different types of knowledge simultaneously. The main objective of the system is to facilitate knowledge acquisition from documents and new knowledge discovery through a terminology-based similarity calculation and a visualization of automatically structured knowledge. Implementation issue of the system is also mentioned.

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to introduce U-CAAM(University-Competence Assessment & Accreditation Management) system which is designed to effectively manage extracurricular education programs in a university. Extracurricular education is known to be very important to increase core competences of students who have different levels of knowledge and skills as well as career plans. Design/methodology/approach In this study, U-CAAM system which is designed and developed to tackle the problems related to university extracurricular education is introduced. The case will give meaningful insights to those universities which consider to have similar environment. The survey is conducted to show the need to a systematic management environment to effectively manage the problems with operating extracurricular education programs. Findings The survey result shows that universities understand the need to manage extracurricular education programs effectively. Implementation of U-CAAM provides the practical insights related to this issue.

  • Recently, UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) have been largely used to improve power souse quality as well as to protect critical loads such as computer, industrial system, medical equipment, etc, against power outage by providing clean and uninterrupted power under power supply disturbance or interruptions. But UPS is bulky because used battery. So, UPS size issue have received attention in the power electronics industry. Therefore, this paper proposed a implementation of inside of the computer power supply with UPS by the one-chip microprocessor to minimize UPS size. To verify the proposed power supply, the detail simulation and experiment results indicate that high-frequency switching and operation UPS can be achieved.
