The beam structure models with an impactor or contact parts under impact forces have teen applied to the design of mechanical and electronic accessories. Switches, hard-disk pick-ups and sensors are typical structural examples of the structure to be designed to colliding with other parts of structures. In this paper, in order to examine the relationships between the changes of the stiffness and damping of the impactor and vibrations of the dynamic characteristics of the impact model of a cantilevered beam with an impactor, impact force of the impactor and response characteristics of the cantilevered beam were analyzed by both numerical simulation and experiment. Since the stiffness and damping of the impactor have high nonlinear characteristics, the contact model using revised Herz-model was established by experiments. Also, the results of numerical analyses for dynamic response and impact force of a cantilevered beam with an impactor have a good agreement with experimental results.

Heavy-weight floor impact noise is directly related to the impact source and floor vibration property. Dynamic properties of the standard floating floor that is used in Korea was investigated using accelerance, acceleration energy spectral density(ESD), and structural modal test. In the standard floating floor, natural frequency was decreased by the finishing mortar mass and the damping ratio was increased. Bang-machine force spectrum acting on the concrete slab can be calculated using inverse system analysis. Impact force acting on concrete slab is changed by interaction of finishing mortar and resilient material. The amplitude of the bang-machine force spectrum was amplified in low frequency range(below 100 Hz), and over 100 Hz was decreased. Changed force spectrum influence to the response of structure vibration, so the heavy-weight floor impact noise level was changed.

In this study, the impact response of a nanobeam with a moving nanoparticle is investigated. Timoshenko beam theory is used to model the nanobeam behavior and nonlocal elasticity theory is used to consider the effects of small dimensions. The interaction between the nanoparticle and nanobeam has been described using Lennard-Jones potential theory and the equations are discretized by the radial basis meshless method and a mathematical model is presented for the nanobeam-nanoparticle system. Validation of the proposed model is achieved by comparing the obtained natural frequencies with reference values, demonstrating good agreement. Dimensionless frequency analysis reveals a decrease with increasing nonlocal parameter, pointing out a toughening effect in nanobeam. The dynamic response of the nanobeam and nanoparticle is obtained by time integration of equations of motion using Newmark and Wilson-𝜃 methods. A comparative analysis of the two methods is conducted to determine the most suitable approach for this study. As a distinctive aspect in this study, the analysis incorporates the deformation of the nanobeam resulting from the nanoparticle-nanobeam interaction when calculating the Lennard-Jones force in the nanobeam-nanoparticle system. The numerical findings explore the impact of various factors, including the nonlocal parameter, initial velocity, nanoparticle mass, and boundary conditions.
A model analysis is used to predict the impact response of a simply supported elastic circular cylindrical shell composed of two bonded isotropic layers. The governing equations for a two-layered cylindrical shell are derived on the basis of an improved theory for the single-layer shell which includes the effects of transverse shear deformation and rotary inertia. Calculations are made for the specific case of the steel-concrete cylindrical shell subjected to a suddenly applied load. The solutions show that the method yields very good results. Therefore the proposed method is useful not only for a better investigating of the response characteristics of the shell but also available for a check on other numerical methods such a FEM.
This study tried to examine the antecedents of antecedents of trust and customer response at the healthcare service. A total of 230 patient' data were used with a structural equation analysis. They were verified by covariance modeling, using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 5.0program. Trust is significantly affected by the three factors. Doctors' professionalism and effort of relationship continuity have a positive impact on trust simultaneously. Also, brand reputation have a positive impact on trust simultaneously. But, Trust is not significantly affected by tangibles. And, Trust has a not positive impact on the word of mouth(WOM). Satisfaction has a positive impact on the repurchase and WOM. Repurchase has a positive impact on the WOM.

In this paper the response factor is investigated for middle and small size-RC slab aged bridges. The response factor consists of static and dynamic response factors and is a main parameter in the frequency based-bridge load carrying capacity prediction model. Static and dynamic response factors are determined based on the frequency variation and the impact factor variation respectively between current and previous (or design) states of bridges. Here, the impact factor variation is figured out using the impact factor response spectrum which provides the impact factor according to the natural frequency of bridges. In this study, four actual RC slab bridges aged over 30 years after construction are considered and their span length is 12m. The dynamic loading test in field using a dump truck and eigenvalue analysis with FE models are conducted to identify the current and previous (or design) state-natural frequencies of the bridges, respectively. For more realistic considerations in the moving loading situation, the impact factor response spectrum is developed based on tri-axle moving loads representing the dump truck load distribution and various supporting conditions such as simply supported and both ends fixed conditions. From the results, the response factor is widely ranged from 0.21to 0.91, showing that the static response factor contributes significantly on the results while the dynamic response factor has a small effect on the result. Compared to the results obtained from the impact factor response spectrum based on the single axle-simply supported condition, the maximum percentage difference of the response factors is below 3.2% only.

The proposed model to predict the bridge load carrying capacity uses the impact response spectrum. The spectrum is based on Euler-Bernoulli beam and the center of the bridge width for the moving load location. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the eccentric moving load effects on the impact factor and response factor. For this, this study considers 10 m width and two-lane simply supported slab bridges and performs the moving load analysis to investigate the variations of peak impact factor and corresponding response factor. The numerical results show that the eccentric load increases both the static and dynamic displacements, but the impact factor is decreased since the incremental amount of static displacement is bigger than that of dynamic displacement. However, the difference of the impact factors between the center and eccentric loadings is small showing less than 0.5%p. In the response factor, the eccentric loading increases both the static and dynamic response factors, compared to the center loading. The difference of the response factor is only 0.18%p. It shows that the eccentric loading has very small effects on the response factor, thus the impact factor response spectrum which is generated based on the center moving load can be used to determine the response factor.

ELT(emergency locator transmitter) has assisted in the rescue of thousands of lives in distress. Aviators, mariners and land users being equipped with distress beacons are capable of transmitting distress signals to the satellites in emergency situations anywhere in the world. In this paper, Drop/Impact simulation was performed for ELT Body-case. FE model for Body-case was constructed with MSC/Dytran and refined using the Karas example simulation for Body-case prototype. Shock/impact survivability analysis was performed for ELT operations. FE model constructed with MSC/Nastran. Transient response analysis for refined ELT model was perfomed for ELT under impact shock loading condition.
This paper presents a numerical study on the performance of reinforced concrete (RC) bridge structures subjected to heavy goods vehicle (HGV) collision. The objectives of this study are to investigate the dynamic response and failure modes of different types of bridges under impact loading as well as to give an insight into the simplified methods for modeling bridge structures. For this purpose, detailed finite-element models of HGV and bridges are established and verified against the full-scale collision experiment and a recent traffic accident. An intensive parametric study with the consideration of vehicle weight, vehicle velocity, structural type, simplified methods for modeling bridges is conducted; then the failure mode, impact force, deformation and internal force distribution of the validated bridge models are discussed. It is observed that the structural type has a significant effect on the force-transferring mechanism, failure mode and dynamic response of bridge structures, thus it should be considered in the anti-impact design of bridge structures. The impact force of HGV is mainly determined by the impact weight, impact velocity and contact interface, rather than the simplification of the superstructure. Furthermore, to reduce the modeling and computing cost, it is suggested to utilize the simplified bridge model considering the inertial effect of the superstructure to evaluate the structural impact behavior within a reasonable precision range.

The dynamic behavior of graphite/epoxy laminated composite shell structure due to low-velocity impact is investigated using the finite element method. In this analysis, the Newmark's constant-acceleration time integration algorithm is used. The impact response such as contact force, central deflection and dynamic strain history form shell structure analysis are compared with those form the plate non-linear analysis. The effects of curvature, impact velocity and mass of impactor on the composite shell are discussed.
